Worst service ever they don't know how to do alignment right truck came in good good out bad

If you ever go here I would not recommend I got customer service from Ben he is the worst he said our vehicle would take a little over 45 minutes and he kept it for 4 hours and I went back and he had not service it he hadn't even touched it then he messed with the invoice and said he provided a 2 minute alignment check. He didn't even apologize he gave me the wrong number to complain about the service extremely disappointed because I have had other vehicles serviced here before. What a shame you lost a very good customer who didn't hesitate to pay for whatever was needed. If I had a choice to choose a lower star I would definitely do it. read more

On April 21, 2025, at 8:00 AM, I contacted Brake Check at 7205 S Loop E Fwy Svc Rd, Houston, TX 77087, to have my front and rear brakes replaced, including rotors, brake pads, and a brake fluid flush. I also requested an alignment, oil change, and windshield wipers, totaling $1,071.27 after a discount of $148.57. My vehicle was at the shop from 8:49 AM to 12:06 PM, and after picking it up at 12:17 PM, I took it for an inspection. Around 12:59 PM, I called Brake Check because a tire service warning light was flashing, which had not occurred before my visit. I spoke with Juan, who advised me to return for a check. Upon my return, Jose asked me to wait while he finished another oil change. After about 30 minutes, he added air to my tires and informed me that my tire pressure sensor was damaged, claiming they hadn't touched the rim during the service. He suggested I drive it around to see if the warning light would turn off, and I left feeling uneasy. The following day, April 22, 2025, while commuting from South Loop East to my office in Katy, TX, As I neared my exit on I-10 747B, my car suddenly began to shake, prompting a wave of panic. I quickly took the I-10 747A exit to avoid any potential issues on the freeway. About three minutes later, the car felt increasingly heavy, so I pulled over to search for the nearest Jiffy Lube, suspecting a problem under the hood rather than a brake issue, especially since I had just had them serviced less than 24 hours prior. I found a Jiffy Lube five minutes away and started driving there, but just three minutes into the trip, the shaking intensified again. I managed to reach the Jiffy Lube parking lot, and as soon as I parked, smoke began to billow from the right passenger side. The staff quickly alerted me that my brakes were on fire and urged me to exit the vehicle. They rushed over with a fire extinguisher to douse the flames. Once the situation calmed down, the head mechanic informed me that my caliper was glowing red and at risk of igniting again. Due to warranty issues, I declined their assistance, but they visually confirmed that my caliper was on the verge of failure. I was left extremely shaken, realizing that if it had broken while I was driving, I could have faced serious injury or even death, along with the risk to others on the road. At 9:40 AM, I called Brake Check and spoke with Juan, informing him of the recent incident. He mentioned that if I could bring the car to their shop, he would replace the caliper after my uncle explained the issue to him. Juan also provided me with a corporate number ending in 4977, which I called but only reached voicemail. I then called Juan back, and he told me he had spoken with his district manager, assuring me that someone would contact me soon. At 9:54 AM, I received a call from Mr. M. Tucker from corporate customer service, who began assisting me. He informed me that he would reach out to the area VP, Mr. Brandon Chipwood, to arrange for a wrecker to take my car to the nearest location in Katy instead of my original shop. I agreed and waited for Mr. Chipwood to follow up. At 10:11 AM, Mr. Chipwood called to confirm that a wrecker was on the way to transport my car to the Katy location, where the manager would conduct a diagnostic to determine if the issue was related to Brake Check's work. He mentioned that the wrecker would be covered if the fault was theirs; otherwise, I would be responsible for the cost. After thanking him, I awaited the tow truck. Upon arriving at the Katy location, my car was taken to the back, and within three minutes, the head mechanic came to discuss the next steps. After about ten minutes, I was called into the shop to review the results of a visual inspection. I was informed that the caliper, which had not caused any issues prior to the recent brake work performed less than 24 hours earlier, was the source of the problem, and it was claimed that the installation was not at fault. I contested this assertion, believing it to be an attempt to cover up subpar work. I was then informed that, according to Brandon Chipwood's communication, I would be responsible for the costs. After my conversation with Brandon Chipwood, I was left feeling frustrated and disheartened. His condescending attitude and dismissive remarks made it evident that he was unconcerned about the serious safety issues stemming from his shop, which could have endangered my life and others. Despite the potential risks, I was informed that I would need to cover the costs for repairs myself, including a quote of $329.72 for a new caliper and hose, along with the $75 wrecker fee .Additional I received a quote to replace two not one tire sensors that had been functioning but damaged during my visit at the South Loop shop . Had an appointment for 5 PM and the tech rudely turned me away because they were short handed. I understand stuff happens, but they could have notified me that they weren't going to be able to service my vehicle and instead of wasting my time. read more

I brought Monica in do to the fact: when driving on the freeway and make a sudden brake, the peddle have a slight shake! Right! Sooooo yea! My free inspection basically was bihhhhhh you need errthang! But thank thee lord I did my brakes here back in 2012.... And I still have warranty!!!!!! Whoop! Whoop! My brake pads, shoes, rotors and all those other parts men know and my car was ready in 2 hours. The mechanic that mainly works the front is comical also, because I was not bored at all. I visited one of your locations located at 7205 S. Loop East, Houston, Texas. The manager on duty at the time was Gerard Allen. I have been to this location a few times and encountered manager Marquis (I believe that is his name) and my experience has been pleasant. Well on March 16, 2018 at around 8:30 AM I walked in the store and there was only one customer sitting down. There was no person at the desk. There were about 4 to 5 employees in the shop area. Three, including Gerard, were at the same car inspecting or working on it. One employee was sweeping the floor. The person sweeping the floor looked at me and kept sweeping. The manager looked at me and stayed where he was in the shop. After a few minutes, the man who was sweeping the floor came in. I told him to call the manager, I had been standing there for about 2 to 3 minutes now. The manager came and he had an attitude. I told him I needed an oil change and he took my keys and brought my car to the shop area. I was completed in no time. He came back to the counter and told me my total. I asked him was the air filter changed. He said I did not request it. I advised him that everywhere I go for a oil change, the air filter was checked. The last time I came to this location, the manager informed me that the air filter was dirty and I purchased one. He said that does not come with a regular service. I asked him well was it checked and he yes, he thinks so, he does not know for sure. I made him go outside and look at my air filter. It was extremely dirty. He would not give me a discount on purchasing an air filter so I decided to go to Autozone and purchase one for $18.99 afterwards. I paid my bill and left. I also referred my husband to Brake Check and he did not have a good experience at this location also. After I get my 4th oil change free, I will no longer be using your company. I do not feel like I have been treated like a valued customer. You need to have training for your employees and managers on how to treat people. Gerard said he has been with the company for many years and has not had any complaints. I highly doubt that. The lady in the lobby said your company did not properly her BMW and that was her 3rd visit there to get the problem corrected. Her daughter had to call Gerard and curse him out. The lady said she called the corporate office and no one has returned her call to address her complaint. I hope you are treating customers like they are valued. read more

Recently moved to Houston and came here for my first oil change because the location was near where I was staying, and they advertise quick service. The oil change took over an hour even though there was only one person ahead of me. They also quoted me an incorrect price, so it was much more than they had initially said. But the final death knell is that they must have given me the incorrect oil, because my engine burned through it in about 1,000 miles. In 50,000+ miles, I have never before had any trouble with oil consumption. The oil cap on my engine clearly states the type of oil required, so this isn't a mystery. I cannot imagine ever returning to any Brake Check location ever, since they apparently lack institutional protocols to ensure cars take the correct oil. read more

CAREFUL!!! First time they used pliers to tighten the oil filter. Which punctured small holes and was leaking a lot of oil. After the oil change I got on road to go out of town and the car left me on the side of the road due to no oil. They apologized and said the guy was no longer working there. Went back recently 5/14/22 to give them another shot and noticed my car was leaking oil. It turned out they didn't put the drain plug right and left out the gasket. Went to Autoparts to purchase a new drain plug and the guy there told me it's not the first they hear of all of their mistakes. Which encouraged me to leave this review for others to be careful. read more

Do not bother with this Brake Check location. Spend your time and your money elsewhere. When you pay for an oil change and the oil change is not done, resulting in your car engine shutting down, you would think a responsible company or one that actually cared about their customers would rectify their mistake. Instead, they find every way possible to avoid doing so and send you on your way car-less saying "you can't prove we didn't do it". No matter that i checked my oil days later and it was completely dry. No matter that they never even changed the decal on the car saying it was done. No matter that the opinion of another licensed mechanic that it had to be taken to says that the engine was run dry without oil. It makes no difference to this Brake Check location. It's upsetting, yet very typical of a greedy company unwilling to respect their customers and the hard-earned money they spend trying to support businesses like this one. read more

I'm not sure what the purpose in scheduling an appointment is for, if when I show up at the scheduled appointment time I still have to wait but so goes life. That's not that big of a deal. However, Brake Check has a terrible habit of not putting mats down in my car. I went to this location thinking they might be drudgery from the usual location I go to, but nope. Oil all on my floor plate. I'm not sure if it's because I'm in a wheelchair or because the interior is black that maybe they think I'm not going to notice oil on the floor that wasn't there when I arrived. The past 3 times I've gone to Brake Check I've had to go back to have them remove the oil left behind. This makes it the 4th time. I didn't go back this time. Just grabbed my own degreaser & cleaned up. I shouldn't have had to do this. At this point I'm thinking it's not the location, it's the franchise. But one star well deserved because once they did start on my vehicle it wasn't a long wait. read more

I can only find the best adjectives to describe the services I have received from store manager, Mr. Hassan. My van has been suffering from oil leak due to broken oil pan gasket. Other Brake Check location was unable to help me figure out the main source of the oil leak (prior to meeting Mr. Hassan). Mr. Hassan expertly diagnosed the problem and offered to fix it asap at a reasonable price within a reasonable time. I will definitely recommend the services of Mr Hassan and his men for all your vehicle needs! Job well done! read more

Thought I'd try this place considering the location was convenient. When I walked in there were 2 customers seated and no one at front counter to help me. I waited ten minutes before someone came and still waited 5 more minutes before he actually acknowledged me. I asked for the manager and was immediately helped even though manager wasn't on site (my frustration was evident). I then requested my vehicles oil to be changed and it took about an hour and a half. Soon after, I noticed My vehicle started to leak oil. My car is new, I thought it was strange so I Took it to a mechanic nearby and was told whoever changed my oil gave me a broken filter. My oil changes are $80 at Brake check, you'd think they'd be more professional. I will never return to this place. read more

I went to this place to get my breaks and the customer service was piss poor. First I walk in and I'm telling him I had an appointment and that ignored. I tell him to check my brakes and I sit and wait. They go out and put my car up and took everything off and I'm like okay they are checking it and then they start doing something else. I'm sitting here for and hour and they start working on someone else's car. I get up and ask what's going on they tell me nothing is wrong (Obviously it is). I walk outside so they can show me and they got this loud music on talking about sex, girls and etc cursing and I can barely hear what he's saying. So he turns it down and tells me I need new screws that's it. I told him okay put them on. I leave and find out they did nothing. They barely put my tires back on tight and I'm wondering what's the noise and it's because my tires are wiggling and my screws are now completely stretched. I go back they tell me oh we didn't know we didn't put on the new screws and I say it's more than screws and they tell my no come back another day. I decided to go to my mechanic and that's when I find out they mess up putting my tires back on and etc. I am calling corporate and I hope they are fired. They are rude and disrespectful and don't care about doing their jobs. STAY FAR AWAY FROM THEM. Left with a Free break check to having to pay my Mechanic 150 to fix what they messed. read more

Decided to try and stop in because I was in the area, and they sent me a coupon for 50% off for your first oil change. Laziest employees ever. Waited and waited to even be acknowledged. After I was finally acknowledged I waited some more, with no other customers even there for an oil change. This was well after the lunch rush, so they were. It busy at all. Not quite sure how they can have the audacity to call it a "quick oil change". Ended up just leaving to go to my usual spot since they obviously had no intention or desire to conduct business. I visited this Brake Check today to get my brakes checked because they were squealing often. And in a word,...my experience was AWESOME!!!! Gilbert assisted me, and he was EXTREMELY courteous, knowledgeable and professional. After he test drove my car and did a visual assessment of my brakes, he gave me a very professional and honest opinion/ recommendation. He was very knowledgeable and didn't try to up sale me or make me feel swindled with big mechanics talk like some of these places do. Which I whole heartedly appreciated! They weren't very busy so they got my car in right-away to do the necessary repairs. I was in and out within an hour, which is usually unheard of! If you're looking for GREAT service then look no further, and go see these guys! Tip... this location is not as busy as the others because these days because there are freeway closures with re-routes. However, the extra 2-3 minutes it will take you to re-route to get to them is worth it! read more

Had the opportunity to schedule an appointment at this location. Store Director Hasan Virani was the one handling everything. He was able to get my vehicle in and out in a great amount of time. I got all brakes pads changed as well as resurfacing rotors. Hasan was able to work with me and showing me an impeccable level of customer service. Probably the most expensive oil change I ever had. 56$ for a 2001 civic is really high, I didn't need synthetic and they still kept insisting to get it, which would costs me another 30 dollars. The people are noce, but the location is hard to get to and after coupon, isn't really a good price. read more

Honestly I'm surprised the reviews for this location are so high. I had to wait for 6 hours for my brakes to be replaced. They did no forewarn me. And they kept insisting the brakes would be done in 30 minutes. I went in because my brakes were making noises. I did what they recommended and my brakes still make noise.
