I haven't been to a JIffy Lube in years, but after a recommendation from friends and comparing the feedback with the reviews, I decided to make this the site of a recent vehicle inspection. The wait was minimal, the customer service was excellent, and the overall process was smooth. Jordan was the first to assist me and noted that I can park my vehicle in the back and leaving the keys in the car. I went into their lobby area, where I was able to enjoy one of their refrigerated water bottles. The room is small and I managed to pass the time while working on my laptop. (#1) 10 minutes into the wait, my vehicle was ready. Michael was helpful in explainig the process to me and the total cost was $18.50. He provided the paperwork that I needed for proof and I was out of the door. The only reason I can't give them a 5 star? They left my car running outside of the garage unattended for at least several minutes while I was chatting with them in the office. Anyone could've walked up from the street and taken the vehicle. We have come here for maybe 20 years for oil changes and everything has always been great. Something has CHANGED. Our last three experiences have been awful. (We no longer see the guys who worked there for years...these guys all seem new.) 1. In December, they did not reattach the underpanel and had to call us to come back so they could put it back on. 2. In December, I took my car for an inspection and they tried to tell me that my BRAND NEW wipers (we always change our own) wouldn't pass inspection unless we changed them out (by buying them there, of course LOL). We left and got the car inspected elsewhere. On my most recent oil change, they noted that my wipers are in "great shape." 3. I took my car to get the oil changed on Wednesday since I was going on a road trip. This morning, I discovered that YET AGAIN the underpanel was not attached properly. I'm sorry, but changing the oil on a vehicle is literally the most basic of processes and is the major reason for a place like Jiffy Lube to exist and if you can't do that properly and consistently... After decades of trusting this Jiffy Lube and recommending it to friends and family, we will not be going back because if they can't change the oil without an issue, Lord only knows what else they are messing up. I had to rush over to Jiffy Lube before heading on a long road trip, and I arrived within an hour of their closing with multiple cars ahead of me. I was prepared to wait an hour so I went for a walk down the street, and then 10-15min I got a call. They were working on my car and wanted to check and make sure they were using my preferred synthetic oil. They also wanted to make me aware that my coolant was very low, they used a flashlight to show how shallow. They also showed me that there was corrosion on my battery and that my engine block air filter needed replacing. I told them that I actually had a filter in the car, and since the screws were stripped I asked if I could just put in the filter myself. They went ahead and installed it for me feee of charge. They also rang me up while they were finishing up instead of after they were 100% completed, which o appreciated. The price was more expensive that I remembered in the past, but the employees were kind, helpful, and they got me in and out in a timely manner. Some tips: Always look online to see if you can find jiffy lube coupons. I just googled "jiffy lube coupons," there was a jiffy lube site coupon that I could email to myself and use at checkout. Also, being that it was towards the end of the day I think the crew worked quicker so they didn't have to hang around longer. This was our go to place for oil changes and state inspection, so when we took our car in yesterday, we noticed there were no other customers and the employees were sitting around chatting. They told us to park the car and we did, then we waited and waited for someone to come get the car. Finally, we left. I came here to get my car maintenance done, and I was very pleased with the efficiency and service! They are very polite/respectful and friendly. They did give me an estimated time of how long it would take, and I would say it was almost pretty accurate. When I go to the dealership, they would take at least 2 hours on my car, but here, I only spent a fraction of that time, which I'm really happy about it. I like how honest and transparent they are too. I mainly came here because of the convenience of how close it is to where I live. I needed an oil change and my dealership (per usual) was behind for walk ins and I had missed my appointment. I came here and not only was Elijah informative he let me know my wait time, what was necessary cost wise and I was able to use my coupon and get half off a rotation! UPDATE: $58.68 discounted price with Groupon for full synthetic oil change with no additional services PLUS the $27.99 for the Groupon. That brings you to a total of $86.67. No filter change, no windshield wiper blade exchange, no belt changes. Seems like a lot to me..... Service is good. The mechanic who helped me went through all the checks they did for the oil change and asked if I wanted any additional services that were recommended for the mileage on my car. However, be warned that if you buy the Groupon for oil change, it does not cover the whole price of synthetic oil. They will take $40 off the price but it still ends up being around $46 with the discount. He's upfront about the wait time (if there is any) and he won't try to sell me on a bunch of things I don't actually need for my car. I appreciate the fact that this place doesn't try to take advantage of people and they truly want to help with the service you need. Had a very pleasant experience at this Jiffy Lube. I went on a Saturday afternoon without an appt expecting it to be crazy but it wasn't at all. They let you stay in your car while they change your oil and ..I mean, SAY LESS!! I pulled up and they changed it in no time. They also changed out my air filter, pumped up my tires and recommended I change my wiper blades. I was down for that because I'd been meaning to do it for a while. Unfortunately, they didn't have the blades I needed so I have to come back another time for that. I'd also been having trouble changing my license plate light. I bought the new bulbs online but couldn't get the old ones out in order to change them. They were kind enough to do that for me free of charge. The best part of the experience was the discount! I needed an inspection so I came to this location since it was closer to my house and I've done business with them before. It was on a Sunday and they open at 9 o'clock. The inspector was not on duty so they asked me to wait. They said he'll be here. So I waited and waited and waited and waited. After almost an hour waiting, I decided to leave. I was getting ready to leave. I saw the inspector drive up. Poor guy looked like he was stressed out. He had no shirt on. He didn't look like someone I would want to inspect my car. What's unfortunate I've been to this location before and they did excellent service but I didn't see any of the previous service people working there anymore so I decided I will not be back to this location. read more

I needed a vehicle inspection and my usual places machine was down. I have heard this about several places. Luckily, my usual place knew that this Jiffy Lube was able to do vehicle inspections. I tried to call ahead to make sure that they had availability, but no one answered the phone. It simply continued to ring. I took a chance and just showed up. I arrived around nooon, drove around and said that I needed a vehicle inspection and asked if they had time. I was informed that they did have availability. There was only 1 vehicle ahead of me, and they would need to confirm my vehicle insurance. No problem. They have bottled water and a Keurig machine available while you wait. I didn't keep track of the time, but my vehicle was finished in a timely manner. However, when it came time to check out, no one confirmed my vehicle insurance. I even mentioned it and said, "let me get it in the app," and the gentleman waved it off. Overall, I am happy with the service. (Side note: I reviewed some of their other services such as replacing windshield wipers and that is cheaper at Discount Tire. So, review prices! read more

Don't go here for an inspection unless you want to waste your time. I went first thing in the morning at 8:15 and was told a couple of people,2 people, were ahead of me. I was there for 1.5 hours and still no inspection. I asked how much longer it would take and was told they couldn't tell me. Ridiculous waste of my time. If I could give negative stars, I would. Picture this. The day before Easter, gorgeous out. Had time to spare and needed new oil. Pull in and the place wasn't busy. Put $107 worth of synthetic into my 2014 Passat per the "experts" suggestion. Just as they were buttoning up the car, I reminded them to make sure everything was tight and proper. I get up on Easter morning to find 4 quarts of fresh oil under my car. Seems the team didn't quite tighten things as they should. I spend MOST of easter trying to get this fixed since everything was closed, and I was from DALLAS and had to drive home! Ruined Easter for my family, and ended up costing me another $60 to get it repaired after three hours of searching for an open shop! Thank you Exxon! I'd like a full refund. Never mind my holiday being ruined for me and my extended family. All because you couldn't properly screw back on my oil filter? Especially after I had nicely asked you make sure to do so? Slow and rude. I went in for a vehicle inspection. They said my car was next in line. Then after sitting in the waiting area for a while and not seeing any activity on the one car in the bay, I asked how long it would be to get the inspection. One guy couldn't say how long. The other guy, supposedly responsible for inspections, seemed offended that I had asked. So I left and had my car quickly inspected (about 10 minutes) by the Jiffy Lube on Shepherd near Welch. Good service on Shepherd. Steer clear of the store on Holcombe. This is the second bad experience my family has had there. read more

I came to this location in December to get my oil changed. Everything went fine and smooth. Everyone very friendly... in and out in less than a half hour. A couple of weeks ago I started noticing that the oil light would come on whenever I made a hard stop or strong acceleration. I checked the dipstick and it was completely clean.... not enough oil in the engine to even measure on it. My car does not burn oil, especially 4 quarts in 6 weeks... that would be pretty noticeable. I like jiffy lube because they have always been fast and friendly (aside from constantly trying to sell me overpriced air and cabin filters) but I won't be back to this location after I was ripped off of $40+ of oil. read more

Joffy Lube has been my regular oil change place since I've been in Houston-- I've come to this location for abot four years, and the employees have always been courteous. I like that Jiffy Lube keeps tabs on what I need done and at what mileage-- I can't be trusted to remember when I got/will need my transmission oil changed, for example. I'm about to move to Minnesota, so it's nice that I can go to a Jiffy Lube there, and they can access that information. I also appreciate that they don't push services too hard-- I get my tires rotated elsewhere, so the employees at this location always ask if I want it done (for $28 eeeeek), but they're nice when I say no. This location does get busy around rush hour. I find that the wait is shortest in the mornings. read more

My water hose went out right as we were leaving for a camping trip on a Friday at 4. Came to this location to see what could be done but honestly had given up hope. But these guys showed up for my son and I. Not only did they repair it but the manager personally went and got the parts. They saved the camping trip and made an 8 year olds weekend. Not a bad place to get an oil change just an annoying mishap and now i wont come back. During my oil change, the process was fairly quick. I came in and out in about 30 mins. After I left the jiffy lube, my radio had been locked--which has never occurred when I've gotten an oil change and typically happens when there's an abrupt stop of power. The radio lock is used as an anti theft method. It was working before and now no longer does. I have no idea what had happened during my oil change. Anyways, a small oil changed ended up causing a lot more work for me and I have to bring my car to the dealership to get it fixed. Sighhhhhh. When I gave the jiffy lube a call, they were pretty apathetic and didn't seem to care even though it happened through their services. Bottom line, not worth an oil change bc of all the other issues that came through neglect or inability of technician. read more

I feel bad for the employees here, after reading all of the bad reviews. Maybe they're under new management/ownership now, because I had a great experience. I actually brought my car here on Valentine's Day to do a little maintenance before heading out on a road trip. It was maybe 15 minutes to closing, and I was actually leaving Firestone, since they couldn't fit me in. I searched for other oil change places in the area, and this one popped up. I called ahead, and the employee actually assured me that they would wait for me before closing, since I was just a few minutes away. (And yes, I really did go that late). I expected them to "magically" find some new "problems" with my car, but that didn't happen. What?! Hmm... They did go over their inspection process, and showed me my air filter (which was still in good shape). They even accepted a coupon that I pulled up on my phone. Overall, I found the people here friendly and efficient. I'll definitely go back--this time, with a Groupon. Bonus! read more

I have had a bad experience with another location but decided to take my car in and get the oil change as my wife and I were about to take a cross country trip. After getting the change and driving home I noticed the oil light coming on. (It had not done this previously). I checked things out and saw that they had indeed changed the oil filter and been under the hood. What they had not done was fill it back up with oil. Yes, they didn't put any oil in the car. I called them and they weren't even apologetic. They did send a guy out to fill it up and had me bring it in to see if everything was kosher. Courtney, the guy at the desk, was very accommodating, polite, and patient. He was not pushy and explained all the charges to me. However, the staff actually handling my car was a different story. I went in for their "signature" oil change package which included cleaning the windows and vacuuming the car. I was in and out in 30 minutes. I was about 10 miles away when I noticed there were still leaves, crumbs, dirt, etc on all the floors of my car! They did NOT vacuum the floors although it is stated on the receipt that they did. Additionally, there were white streaks from dried up soap on the windows. What bugged me the most was that they ticked those off as "done" on the receipt without actually doing it (i.e. vacuuming). How can I be sure now that they actually filled my tires with air? Or checked the brake fluid, etc? I called Courtney and he told me to come back so they could rectify the problem. So I did. They vacuumed the floors and wiped a couple of the windows. The windows looked pretty much the same prior to the "rectification" but whatever. I just wanted to get out of there and move on with my day. Bottomline is, they did the oil change fine, but I wish they had accomplished what was included in their package in the first place to have avoided all this trouble. read more

Changed my oil on the Christmas Eve morning in 2015. Everything went well on that day. Then I kinda of noticed oil stains no matter wherever I parked. Since I don't have a designated parking, I thought it wasn't because of my car, until I made a mess at my friend's driveway. First oil stain ever for that brand new house... Took my car to an auto shop, being told that both oil cap and filter were loose, they top the oil and tight both ends, problem solved. I normally have had bad experiences with Jiffy Lube but this place was the exception. I needed an oil change and I decided to try the Jiffy Lube near my job. Let me just say i thought they were great! Paul was so polite and truly appreciates his customers. He was very informative and even though I already knew I needed additional work done but couldn't afford it at the time, he understood and never pushed me (which was refreshing). He told me when I was ready they would be there for me. I came there around 5:30 on a weekday and even as busy as they were, they were all very efficient. Should have known how it was gonna go when I was told I'll tell you about what else you'll need later after I have him my keys. I said I just want a regular oil change, no synthetic. Later on a monitor I'm told "they" say you need "this" type of oil and he tells me my expensive choices with plain oil not being an option. I point to plain oil. It doesn't come in that. Then just forget it. Well we already drained the oil. OK just put the plain oil in anyway. I look down and he has my whisper clean air filter in his hand that he didn't dare at this point try to sell me a replacement. After all this I get home and my hood wasn't closed and latched.
