I've been going to Braintree Auto Works for 3 years. They're excellent. Wayne, the boss man, is always there and he's consistently honest and clear about his recommendations. Sometimes I come in and say, hey Wayne, I think this thing needs to be changed, and he'll say no, that's not necessary, here's a better option. And he actually talks to me like an intelligent person, explaining the repairs and allowing me to see the old parts that he replaced. He even let me borrow his car when I needed to leave mine at the shop for the day. Highly recommend. Oh and free wifi, water, and coffee. read more

I've now had a few experiences with this shop and they have all been great. I went here because of the positive Yelp reviews, but was still skeptical due to past mechanic experiences. The first time I stopped by to have my check engine light diagnosed. Within a minute the owner read the code, told me what to do, and didn't even charge me. I went back to get new rotors/brake pads. Service was done quickly and at a great price. I had to go back due to some noise coming from the brakes, but that was fixed quickly as it was a little dust on the new pads. He squeezed me in on a busy Saturday and fixed the problem quickly. I also had a question about my steering. The owner did some research and discovered that I qualified for a recall. The fix there would have been expensive due to labor and instead of doing that he helped me out and sent me off to the dealer. That is just great customer service and that type of honesty will keep me as a customer for as long as I'm in the area. The hours are convenient. The prices is given up front and is incredibly reasonable, especially for how efficient they are. If you are in the area it is definitely worth it. Call before you go as they are usually busy and he can give you a good estimate of the best day/time to bring your car in. read more

He checks out your car and tells you what you need done now or later and you decide, unlike the dealership that they guilt you into dropping twice the amount. read more

I hate going to the mechanic. Really, who loves it? However I can't wait to go back and have my vehicle worked on again at BAW. No longer do I have anxiety about where to send my car the next time an idiot light goes off. These folks are thorough, honest and fairly priced. I really thought that my last repair (new brake pads and rotors) was going to hit me right between the wallet. However, when I got my estimate, it was a quarter of what I was expecting! Very honest and hardworking. They are experts for Honda, Toyota and Nissan and all my Friend prefer going to these guys for repair. Did a good job on my BMW that was towed to there place. They made is working in a day!!! Some things that they dont do include, body works and wheel alignment. Since the wheel alignment was not done I still needed more work on my car. I was told to drive in without appointment for state inspection. Quick at start and finished in 10 minutes. Down side of this shop is that its office is little messy, not so business tidy. Otherwise, seems to have at least 3 workers in shop. read more

I am giving Braintree Auto Works 5 stars, and they couldn't even fix my car! I went in to have my 99 Audi A4 checked out, as it needed an oil change and what I suspected to be a replaced front-wheel bearing. I dropped off the car on a Saturday morning, and a few hours later I got a call giving me the bad news about the car. He told me that he could fix it, but due to the make and model, he was going to have to charge me a more than places more equipped to fix Audi's (no one likes to work on Audi's :) ). He also told me the car had a slew of other more serious problems. When I went to pick up the car ( 15 minutes prior to opening), he took me around the car to show me everything that was wrong, so I could have a better conversation if I chose to get it repaired somewhere else. He probably spent 1 hour + with me the vehicle, and when I tried to pay, he said, "Don't worry about it, but maybe we can work on your next car?!" Due to his kind nature and refusal of payment, I highly recommend this place to anyone in the Quincy/Braintree area. Great, efficient service by knowlegable mechanics who are not out to screw you. I took my car to Sears to replace 3 lights, they said they could not fix it since it was a wiring issue, I called this shop and spoke to the manager, he told me to bring it down the next morning, I explained what Sears had said (Thinking the worst, and hoping it wasn't too expensive) he took my car and in 5 minutes came in to the waiting area to tell me it was only the lights.. he fixed it for $50.00/ sears wanted $60.00... he could have told me anything but was honest and I really needed the money. But, I gave this place a shot after almost getting suckered into paying 800 bucks for repairs that were not needed. My sister swears on her life that this place is honest and priced fairly. I was there the other day because my car has some service lights on. I thought it was just oil change reminder. But this time the service lights show couple more codes in additional to the oil change code. I was getting nervous for any big problems which could have happened to my car. I just recently moved to Braintree. I went ahead and checked on Yelp to see if there's any great auto mechanic in Braintree. I found Braintree auto works with a lot of good feedbacks. I think I would give it a try. I drove my car in. I didn't make any appointment and I thought I would have to wait for the next available appointment. The owner told me he can just quickly check my car to see what happen with those service codes. After that, he told me i need to change my ATF fluid, he showed me how dirty it was and asked me if I want to do the job. I told him I would like him to change the ATF fluid. Then he went ahead to change my ATF fluid quickly and charged me a very reasonable price! I was shocked because I thought my car had some serious problem at first. He is a very nice guy. I am very satisfied as a new customer. This will be my no.1 choice for all my car needs in the future! read more

Terrible service and work. Want you call to be checked? he goes and tells you to leave it there so he can "fix" it even though you only wanted it check. So you have to pay him no matter what also he don't even see or know what they did and if they did anything or not and goes and lie. Also smokes around car when working on them...... Also really dirty place and service, they don't care if they get oil or grease on your car they will just leave it there. read more

They seemed nice but was told they don't work on American cars. Went in with my Jeep Wrangler trying to change out my rear shocks which is an easy bolt off bolt on. I was having a hard time removing the seized bolts and brought it to Braintree Auto Works. Was told right away by one of the Mechanics that they don't do work on American made cars. Great guy who does great work at great prices. Moved from Quincy to Braintree and needed a mechanic close by. Read the reviews and gave this place a try. I first got an oil change, Synthetic for $45.00. That is a great price ! had my breaks done next, another solid job at a good price. Bulbs changed on my brake lights and he us cleaning my fogged headlights for me without charge. Owner always takes time to speak with his customers and does a great job. read more
