I have been here twice with my Toyota Corolla 2016 for oil change. The man is very honest and up forward about the issues on your car. My car's oil filter housing was tighten to tight and he wanted me to buy a new one in case that it breaks . The oil filter housing is made of aluminum. They ended up removing without breaking it. My 20 year old son obtained multiple estimates for a broken bumper. We decided to go with Braintree Autobody because they were conveniently located near us and I had used them years ago. When we picked up the car they charged $1000. more than the estimate. There was no additional work done. It was a bumper! They gave us no satisfaction when I questioned why it cost more than the estimate. They thought they could take advantage of a 20 year old. I do not recommend this place. read more

The first few times I came to him, he couldn't do the work personally b/c he didn't have the proper equipment in his shop, but he made recommendations where I should go and where I could get good service. So sad customer service is no longer a thing. I called to ask about making an appointment, Wednesday, July 31st, 3:17pm. Gentleman answered, I asked, how are you doing? He said how can I help you? Lo and behold, I needed some work done on my Nissan so I took it Braintree Auto Works because it had good reviews and it's close to where I live/work. That was a very good decision. They worked quickly on my car and fixed it, when a follow-up problem popped up, they stood 100% behind their work and made it right, and my dealings with the mechanic are always positive. He knows what he's doing, he doesn't try to rip you off, and I will definitely be sending my fiancee here to get work done when her car has problems down the road. Bonus point: He drove me to work! Was looking for a quick place to get a simple oil change and came across BAW. Is literally 3 minutes away from the Quincy Adams T station where I drop my wife off. Saw the 5 star review and decided to go for it. Even though they don't officially open until 9, they let me in around 8:30. Done in about 15 minutes and very reasonably priced. Topped off wiper fluid to boot. Best part is that they didn't try to push any extra work on me that I didn't ask for. Owner is very friendly and easy to start a conversation with. Keith is the MAN! All my family and friends goes to Braintree Auto Works for their efficient mechanical work and their fair prices. They do anything from a quick oil change to ordering new tires. He does the A to Z on all my cars! I dropped off my vehicle on several occasions and he'll call me up to tell me what the damage is, give me a quote and tell me how long it's going to be. Because I had been going to him for some time now I'm able to drop off my car before business hours (drop the keys off in the slot), speak to him throughout the day and pick up my car with my spare key after the shop has been close. I went for my car maintenance. I had an oil change in Valvoline last time and they told me that I need to change transmission oil and add brake fluid. This time, I went to BRAINTREE Auto Works and told the owner what I was told in Valvoline. He checked my car and told me honestly that I don't need to change transmission oil based on my car maker and mileage he also said no need for the brake fluid now and that it can be changed and monitored in another 10,000 miles. The owner was honest and told me what my car actually needed at the moment and didn't try to charge me for stuff I didn't need. They also charge reasonable prices. read more

I had priced compare with dealer and other shops for timing belt with water pump for my Honda. $500 vs $800-1000. I've also check on other items like brakes, ... etc. Anything labor intensive is at least 20-40% cheaper. He uses many original parts from Honda. Keith showed me the parts taken out of the car and the original Honda genuine part boxes. How can one go wrong? i hate to post a good review for a place like this, lest it will get more well-known which usually leads to longer wait time and decreased service. but i must say, i don't have anything but good things to say about this place. thanks again for the friend who brought me here! called on Tue pm asking if i could get a Wed appointment, was briefly asked what's the problem, and was told to drive in any time. arrived Wed with a note with the 5 things i need done/checked, including a 60K maintenance. Wayne looked at my writing and understood right away; he explained to me what's included and how some other items might be related. asked if i wanted to wait or if they needed to transport me somewhere. i said friend was coming to pick me up for lunch; we'd eat while we wait. left my number for him to call when done. received vm about an hour earlier than said, went to get car, Wayne said he called to look for my registration so he could drive my car to the place down the road for the state inspection on my behalf since the job was finished ahead of schedule. when i first presented my list he told me that they don't do state inspection, and i was just thinking i'd do that myself separately. i totally didn't expect him to drive my car out and wait for it himself, when he could have been sitting in the office eating his lunch! this type of service is exactly what separate this place for all others. price came out really pretty as well. maybe i should patronize this place more frequently, even for an oil change! read more

Another wonderful experience with Wayne. I went in for rotors and brake pads on Friday. Wayne took me over to my car and showed me that my tires were almost completely bald and told me that I would need new ones for my safety. He didn't try to sell me new tires - he helped me understand that I needed them by showing me. The car was going to have to stay, so he drove me to the T station and told me he would call me when my car was ready. I left there at around noon and was called at 4:30 to swing by and get my car. Wayne even picked me up from the train station and brought me back there, despite the rush hour traffic. During our quick rides to and from the T, Wayne told me that they used to have a shop in Newton but moved to Braintree. He told me that his clients still take the drive to Braintree for things as simple as an oil change. That really says a lot that people are willing to go out of their ways for something they can get down the street because the personal relationships and client services provided are just that good. The people over here are genuine. I have been going there for almost 2 years now. They dont over quote or over price or list you unnecessary. Examples: Tire rotation: I got a brand new Altima, it has about 20K miles now. Went there to have tire rotation done, and the mechanic examined the tires and said it doesnt require as only a very few cars will have tires evenly laid out after 20K miles. Even if I need to get it done its only $10 others charge $25 claiming them as certified experts. Come on for tire rotation? Oil change: Unlike others, anytime you go. The oil change is $20 for conventional and $45 for synthetic. This includes EVERYTHING. Unlike others who list the price as $40 and give you a $5 coupon. bla bla bla read more

Finally an honest mechanic! Took my son's very old car in to get new brakes since we were told by inspection that car will need new brakes soon. Braintree Auto Works lifted the car up and inspected brakes and told me no new brakes necessary. Checked engine oil and said no oil change necessary yet. I dread going to get my car fixed mostly because of how little I know about cars and I'm sure the mechanics can see that a mile away. I went in today because of a water swishing noise I heard when I made turns and for my brakes. I didn't get the name of the gentleman who helped me but I appreciated that he took the time to explain what was going on in an easy to understand way. I had been told by a popular drive up oil change service that my brakes needed servicing (this was months ago) and the guy assured me today that I have another 5-10,000 miles before reaching that point. I will not be going back to get an oil change at my old place because I am sick of being "taken for a ride." I felt comfortable taking my car here and never felt pressured to make any unnecessary alterations to my car. Their price for an ultra-synthetic oil change was $45, which I felt was a great price (normally anywhere from $45-70). Wing is a very straight-up mechanic. He won't push you toward repairing more than you need. I had a control arm to replace and he told me the other one will go another 5K miles before needing replacement. He works mostly on foreign (east asia & german BMW) makes but has domestics in his utility vehicles so I think he can work on anything. My KIA Soul has hit the 100K mark and he did both control arms, and replaced brakes as well as all belts and water pump. He does require prepayment of major OEM replacement parts before work is done. He shows you what he replaced as well as the installed new parts. He reserves Saturdays for oil changes, topping fluids as needed about half the price you'd pay at Valvoline. It is a more old fashioned shop (not particularly neat) but he does have a waiting room with a Keurig and a TV. read more
