I keep saying it: if Jimmy Abdon recommends a guy, you know you're going to have a good experience. I brought in my car because the cruise control was blinking (and not wanting to work). Within half a day, Rich was able to determine what the problem was, and I was cruisin' again by midday. I also appreciate him calling me and telling me what the issue is and the cost upfront before starting work. The price I think was fair, all things considered. An anecdote if you'll allow it: A millionaire's yacht engine breaks. No one can fix it; so they bring in a mechanic with 40 years experience. She looks the engine up and down, takes out a small hammer and gives it a few taps. The engine roars back to life! A week later our millionaire gets a bill for $10,000. He can't believe it; and asks for an itemized bill. What he gets back reads: Tap with hammer = $2. Knowing where to tap = $9,998. An inescapable fact: [modern] cars are expensive, complex machines. If they were simple, there'd be no need for mechanics. It's not the tapping that's expensive, it's knowing where and how to tap. Where I admit I struggled is that the fix was to reconnect the actuator, and the bill came back for $165 (all in - one hour of labor). Despite the price, I realize full well: 1. There was a process in getting to the issue, and then verifying it was fixed, involving both road and shop testing. 2. The reality was likely more technical that itemized in the invoice. My Ikea desk seems it would be ~10 parts coming together in under 30 minutes no sweat. In reality it took two people two hours, intermingled with profanities. 3. Tapping with a hammer (reconnecting a part) is easy, having the skill set to determine how and where to tap is not. read more

Rich and his crew are is unbelievable. Honest, quick and friendly. I brought my Jeep in an hour before they closed because it was making a God awful rattling sound when I was shifting. Naturally I start thinking worse case scenario: clutch is gone, something wrong with the transmission. Less thank an hour later Rich calls me. It was all set. Honest, Fast service, well priced! (Back story: My husband had dropped his car off awhile back to Sullivan Tire in Quincy and they tried telling us we needed all new brakes, rotors, calipers, pads, on all 4 tires and a bunch of other nonsense (approx $2k in work). I questioned Sullivan Tire about the back because they had done calipers, rotors, & pads on the back 8,500 miles ago. They couldn't answer my question and said the brakes went quicker because the car is old (BS!). Needless to say they are scam artists!) We brought the car to Realini and Rich told us that he could tell the back brakes were done recently and were fine. All we needed were front pads & rotors (a fraction of the cost!). Recently (today) dropped off my wife's 2009 Jeep GC for a horrible noise coming from the back brakes. Rich took the car and said he'd get back to me by lunchtime. I'd give 10 stars if I could. We're from Oregon traveling across the USA. On Sunday morning when connecting our tow car to the motor home at the campground, we realized that we had an electrical problem with the motor home. A local recommended Realini Auto Repair. We contacted them first thing Monday and Rich had us fixed and ready to go by early afternoon. Unfortunately, we found we also had an issue with the car when we hooked up. So, knowing that we were anxious to go because of hard to get reservations at Acadia National Park, Rich kept the car overnight and stayed late Monday evening to get issue problem solved. He had us on the road Tuesday morning! WOW!! We couldn't be more pleased with the quality of service and the caring spirit. The most honest mechanic out there. Took my wife's truck in after the dealer told me I needed front brakes, shocks and struts, for the low price of $1,000! I brought it to Rich, who told me nothing was wrong with the shocks or struts. He replaced the front pads and rotors and a rear u-joint, which the dealer missed and had it ready in a few hours at less than half the cost of the dealer. After being turned away by several area mechanics (including my own brother!), I was referred to Realini Auto Repair. My son's 1995 Nissan Maxima needed its leaking water pump replaced. I was educated by the reluctant mechanics - including 2 local Nissan dealerships - that it was a very tricky job involving the removal and replacement of the timing chain. I had a short conversation with Richie (Realini) and was totally convinced he knew what he was doing. We brought him the car and 2 days later, it was repaired perfectly. The cost for the repair came in at more than $100 LESS than the estimate!! and Richie noticed how bad the wiper blades were during his test drive and elected to replace them as well!! For some reason 3 of my windows of my car wouldn't go up or down. Brought it to about 4 places before being referred to Rich. He had it fixed in a half a day and charged me an extremely modest amount for the work he did. These guys are the only mechanics I've ever been to who truly care about the customer. If you need to get your car fixed my suggestion is you RUN to Realini Auto Repair in Braintree - in my lifetime I have spent over $20,000.00 in auto repairs and have been to so many mechanics all over the state and there is NO ONE BETTER than Rich Realini. This man is honest, fair, hardworking and did I say - HONEST!!!! Unfortunately, in the automotive business there seems to be many crooks and dishonest people throughout the industry - too many times I have brought a vehicle in to be serviced only to be charged thousands of dollars and always needed to go back because something else needed to be corrected.
