Came for a oil change and left with a crazy Oil leak. Had to replace housing gasket oil filter cap and remove oil shields to clean all the mess that was left. Went in to get an inspection. Got told need a 400 to 600 hundred dollar bumper to replace. Was hesitiating and got told some people doesn't have money can get a temporary one otherwise there will be no mercy from the policy since they think you are not even trying. Went to a another shop and got checked saying just need minor repair with 40 dollars cost no need to change the whole front bumper. Don't know why came here to get insulted. This place does take advantage of women and new people (guess not even customer). read more

Needed the inspection sticker and it was conveniently located along my route, just stumbled upon it. The guy was fast, which made me happy. He insisted I needed new windshield wipers at the very end though, but I'd just installed new ones a few months ago. I tried to push back and stand my ground, but he pulled a wiper off his wall, opened it and installed it. And now that wiper sucks, the remaining one is good. JN Auto Service rocks and John is the man. I bring my 2015 Acura ILX here to be serviced and these guys know their stuff. Their prices are very reasonable and they are always able to perform oil changes quickly and efficiently for me. I have been coming here for over 2 years now and John is definitely someone that I trust with my car. He gives me honest answers and never tries to sell me on something that my car does not need. I never write reviews but I feel obligated to in this case. I brought my vehicle in because I was having issues with the brakes. The problem was/is that the brake pedal locks up sometimes, especially when I'm coming to a slow stop. I explained the issue to the mechanic and he looked over the vehicle, told me all the rotors/drum brakes/pads etc. needed to be replaced. I was told that replacing the drum brakes would take care of the problem. This is an older vehicle and I know it isn't in great shape. I'm only hoping to get another year out of it or so, but because it's the brakes I decided not to mess around and just deal with the cost to get it fixed. My frustration is it cost me over $1200 when all was said and done, and the problem I came in with isn't fixed. I don't feel like bringing it back to this place for two reasons: 1) He's going to find a ton more things that he can replace and I'm not confident they can solve the problem. 2) My vehicle still smells like cigarettes and I hate the smell of smoke. I find it disrespectful to assume that because you are not working on a nicer vehicle that it would be ok to smoke inside it. read more

I bought my Acura MDX with high mileage. It needed a lot of work done including timing belt, water pump, brakes, and all fluids flushed. I called John asking for a quote and he was able to give me a price over the phone because he works on these types of cars often. Normally, a repair shop will research and get back to me on a price. After researching and calling multiple shops, I brought my MDX to JN Auto Service. It took him 2 days to complete the work and the price is very reasonable. I can't say enough good things about John and JN auto repair. I first went a year ago because another repair shopntild me I needed an alternator at a cost o f$560. JN was around the corner from my house soni decided to get a second opinion. John told me I just needed a new battery and he installed a new one for a total price of $130 dollars. Another time I was having a problem w my windshield wipers..turned out to be a fuse and he didn't even charge me!! I brought my truck there yesterday and he tikd me it was going to be my timing cover and possibly water pump. He told me low end was $1600 ..possibly more. I went back today, he daid he was abke to cut some corners. He repaired the problem and installed my trailer hitch for $1000!!! I would not consider going elsewhere . read more

Key Takeaway: You can trust John to take care of your car. John worked at a dealership and previously owned another shop. He has the skills and expertise. John provided AWESOME service at a GREAT price. I highly recommend him! Give JN Auto Service a try! They also specialize in BMW, Mercedes, and Audi too! Details: I found JN Auto Service on Yelp. Although they have a low number of reviews, they did have 5 stars. I figured I would give them a try and it didn't hurt that they were close by. I went this morning to find out what was wrong with the Camry. It was making a rumbling noise near the front tires. John took it for a very quick, short spin around the block and diagnosed the problem to be the struts, links, and bushing. He gave me a verbal quote immediately and an estimate of time to fix. Later, I dropped off the car and picked it up within the 3 hour time estimate. I was delighted as I needed the car by a certain time. Also, John gave me a lift home and was willing to pick me back up to the shop, but I was able to secure a ride back. Thanks again, John! read more

6 months ago, I would not have given JN Auto a horrible rating. I had my bumper replace by them, after a couple other minor repairs, and was very please by their service and price. BUT after an accident this month I found out they replaced my bumper without the reinforcement bar without telling me! I got a death trap of a car for a discounted paint/part replacement. Please be warned - if you know what you're asking for, this may be a good place to go. But make sure you are educated about auto repairs - or you may be out $500 like I am. Go to Centre St Garage across the street instead - just as John recommends!!!!! read more

Very good service went through the bill showed how what was replaced was defective and got me in and out the same day for a major repair.

We took our 2007 Dodge Caliber for some work. We knew a new alternator was need because our car wouldn't start at all. He fixed our alternator and did a new battery since we needed it because it was dead too. That was all we asked him to do. When he called to say the car was ready he commented that we need a lot of work done to the front end. He was great since we didn't want it fixed right now. We will be going back to have the front end done. His prices were great. We only paid 500 for work( labor was included). We drove up from PA and got a leak in our radiator. They we extremely accommodating to our urgency. They were able to quickly get the part and Jose was quick and efficient in replacing the parts. Their sitting room was comfortable and it was entertaining watching several movies while waiting. The trip down to the Cape for the weekend looked ruined but they came to the rescue! read more

I have been to dealers who damaged window tint on my car and when I asked the service manager what happened, all he would say is that "We aren't paying for that". Great. I all i expected was a simple, we made a mistake and I'm sorry. Plain and simple but no, just a rude manager and service advisor. Forget that dealership. So the next time I needed work done I looked at Craigslist and saw a ad for JN Auto Repair on Centre Street in Quincy. I called and the owner John, gave me a fair price for the work done. Now I do not mind paying a good mechanic for work done, but not being taken and paying through the nose for something that could be a lot cheaper. John and his staff solved the problem, charged a fair hourly price and excellent work. I have been back several times and I will continue to return to Johns shop. Quality, Good value and fix what is needed and does not pad the bill. Go see JN Auto repair and you will be very happy. read more
