The Spavinaw location is closed but they've opened up in Ketchum at 496 E Ketchum Ave. You can get take out or there's a small dine in area that's air conditioned. Most get it to go. Very good brisket sandwich. Tender and flavorful. Pulled pork was good too. I wasn't greatly impressed with the sides. But, it may have been what we chose--the beans and the mac 'n cheese. The beans were an old style bbq type, not your regular baked beans but they were totally homemade. Just be aware if you wanted baked beans. The mac 'n cheese was advertised as having green chili and bacon. I got some green chili but no bacon. I would go with a different side next time. We will be stopping again. So sorry to say but I'll never go back. BBQ was ok but the buns used for sandwiches were the cheapest they could find. The sauces were empty and when asked if there were more the answer was no. The drink machine had 50% of the options working. The barbecue beans were not good. Bush canned are better. There were four people working behind the counter and no one was cleaning up after the previous customers on tables and floors. There was one customer us. Workers were visiting with each other. One more lady came in 15 minutes after we were there. A grade of C- is generous. read more

All I have to say is wow, I have had bbq all over the country and I think this is probably my 2nd favorite place in the state of Oklahoma. The food is excellent, the inside of the building is very neat, love all the exposed hard wood. And to my surprise the rib plate with 2 sides is only like 14 bucks, that surprised the heck out of me, will definitely be coming back again and again. As for the comments on portion size, I think the owner has listened and fixed that. read more

Found this place online in a one-horse town in the middle of Nowhere, OK. All I can say is "Wow"! I had the brisket and my better half had the pulled pork - both were very good. We out this way geocaching and drove by and saw that the truck was operating so we stopped to check it out. Glad we did. It's take out only and I was impressed that only one family at a time was allowed to approach the order window. The friendly lady helped us make our decisions and before long they had our meal ready to go. We drove over to the dam for the view to enjoy our supper. We both got the moist brisket sandwich that had a lot of delicious beef on it. My wife got the side of beans that were tasty. I'm glad I got the potato salad because it was really good. We were so glad they had suggested the pecan cobbler. It was a generous serving of good, warm, buttery, not too sweet. We could have each eaten an entire order. I've known Mike Bradford, and his BBQ skills, for a very long time. Let me just say this: The BBQ at Bradford's is possibly the best in the state. He does it the right way; slowly with thought and care. The brisket is moist and properly smoked, the ribs are fantastic and if you like sauce, his recipe can't be beat. On top of the food, Mike is a real character and is one of the happiest people we know. He adds something to the BBQ experience that separates his place from the rest of the "joints". Dropped by this spot on a cycle ride today. Great little spot in Spavinaw, Oklahoma. We were a few minutes before opening so we just hung out front and watched all the other cycles and bicycles go by, and even met a couple of bicyclists from Tulsa. I ordered the rib dinner with hatch chili and bacon mac & cheese and a jalapeño cheddar sausage with beans. Both the sausage and sides were good, but the ribs were phenomenal! Nice fat and juicy with just the right amount of spice and smoke.(no sauce needed) that a sign of excellent ribs! Definitely will be back! read more

I was born and raised in the restaurants & hospitality business and am an owner of a sports bar. This place is on the main drag of a little tiny town. I've been eating the Bradford's BBQ for over a decade. I've watched them go through the whole process - and they don't take any shortcuts. I wish they were in Tucson or within an hour or so away and I would already be on my way. I see the reviews for the best BBQ in Tucson and I can't even bring myself to eat there after eating the best. Bradford has traveled all over the U.S. and tested and tried every type of BBQ there is - stop and eat here - it is really wonderful. While you're there and if Bradford isn't sweating over the smoker - - talk BBQ with him. They're just about finished with the brick and mortar restaurant (their portable venue is active now).
