Family never knew this place existed, now they'll be coming back weekly! Great roadside dive! Deco is cool; what you'd expect from a roadside eatery. Way friendly owner operators. Food...WOW!! Just what we were looking for. We ordered a lil bit of everything. Nothing disappointed. Bologna??? Holy bologna was that good stuff! I ordered the BossHog. A meal for 2 really. Absolutely amazing! Hit and miss here been going for years. Have had outstanding food and then some not so good but always get cold drinks and good service.

The food was very good and service exceptional. Traveling from Houston Texas to Illinois looking for a good place to eat and found this little Bar Restaurant, at first we look at each other like should we go in? Very good Bbq/burger place on old Route 66 was a great find while driving through on a road trip. The burger with the pulled pork on top was one of my top 10 favorite sandwich type foods. Got it with a side of friend mushrooms and homemade ranch. My husband got the beef plate with Cole slaw and potato salad. The sides were excellent. The meat was ok. I wish we have more time. We stopped by to this place to get a quick food as we need to drive 13hrs to North. We were glad that we found this restaurant. The place was so rustic, decorated by different kind of collections like cans, beer bottles, paintings and so on. People were nice and helpful since that was our first visit the lady who assisted us provide some recommendations. The food! Afton looks like the apocalypse hit. This little restaurant is the only thing going for this town. Went in with high hopes. Sodas are served in large mason jars straight from cans. Ordered the ribs and my husband and father in law both ordered brisket. The ribs were not fall off the bone. They did not have a smoky flavor and they were tough. :( The brisket was also tough and hard to chew. I did like the decor. It was very homey and warm. read more

I had the Fire Cracker sandwich and my wife had the pulled pork dinner. The firecracker sandwich was 6 oz. beef burger with a generous amount of sliced hot links, jalapenos and cheese. My wife had the pulled pork with beans and slaw. Both meals were excellent! If you are going to the Route 66 Museum this is where you must eat. It's worth the trip. We were looking for some lunch on the drive from st louis to tulsa and weren't finding too many good options until we came across this place. We are delighted we did because this was some of the best bbq we've ever had. The meats were smoky and juicy and super tender. I can't speak for the restaurant itself, since someone else ordered and brought it home to eat, but of course I CAN speak for the awesome food! We ordered a variety of different things, which made me happy since it meant I got to try several things from the menu instead of just one or two (like if I had just ordered a meal for myself only, and not a big group). For the meat we had sliced brisket, ribs, and pulled pork. I didn't try the brisket because it's just not my favorite bbq option. The ribs were super yummy. They came off of the bone nicely and had the right amount of stickiness to them. They were messy (as ribs should be!) but not TOO messy. The pulled pork was my favorite!!! Super tender and juicy, and the flavor was delicious too. The other thing we got were baked beans, which were spiced well (not necessarily spicy like heat, but lots of spices). The sauce they were in wasn't too liquidy, and I liked that. Speaking of sauce, the bbq sauce was good as well. We only got the normal kind. It was pretty sweet, but I tend to like it spicier. I'm not sure whether they have more bbq sauce options or just the one. I'd be willing to go again to find out though!!! read more

Some of my family lives near here and every time I visit them we go here. They have the coolest looking restaurant i've ever seen. The decorations and atmosphere are really cool and vintage which I like. They have a lot of historic items on display which are fun to observe while eating here. I'm a little off track talking about the decorations and stuff I know but they really are cool. Now the food: Absolutely killer. Idk about you but I love some good BBQ and eating their food is like eating grandmas cooking. It's really that good. I recommend going for the burger options personally they are absolutely huge. If I didn't switch phones I'd show you a picture of what I got last time which was ridiculously sized. (In a good way). Great BBQ! Have had the ribs. Regular and Cajun. Both are excellent. Brisket is phenomenal. The staff is great and Rodney has skills. Potato salad is the best I have ever had. Tried the fried pickles and fried green beans also. While I prefer fried pickle slices, the spears that they make are great. Only complaint I would have is the sauce is average, but I haven't found myself wanting to add anything to the meat. As real bbq should, it does not need any sauce. Well worth the trip. read more

Doesn't look very inviting from the outside & the inside is pretty dark, but the people were very friendly & welcoming, and the place had a good crowd when we left. Our group ordered pulled pork sandwiches (very good), smoked Reuben (very good), hot links (good, hot, a tad dry), ribs (great rub, but not falling off the bone as much as I like; I prefer baby backs). We've eaten here often and they don't disappoint. I've tried the ribs, pulled pork, burgers and bologna. All good but my favorite are their ribs. Good sauces, baked beans, potato salad, tots and fries but my go to is the haystack-onion and jalapeño strips battered and fried. If you're in OKC Route 66 near Afton give this place a try.
