I put out a bid to have a 32A electric car charger installed. Brian helped me pick a wall unit that he had good experience with since I was very new to this whole thing. It may be hard to appreciate why Brian is outstanding without having had a truly horrible experience before using him, but if I could give him 10 stars I for sure would. He was the perfect amount of communicative without being a hassle. He kept me informed when he was expecting to show up, he showed up when he said he would, he performed the work as if it was his own place, the price was great, and the work was done quickly (but not hastily!) We had to hire Brian again for another job. SunRun basically jacked up panel by putting in a not so good installation of the 70amp breaker. It caused the solarpanel to think it was off the grid and it would force us to run off the tesla powerwall battery. They originally told us it was going to take them almost 3.5 weeks to come and take a look. We ended up having to text Brian on a holiday and he came like the next day. Wow! Just WOW! Brian is an incredible electrician and such a cool soul. I recently bought a home top dollar and it was hugely disappointing to see the lights in an area of my house and garage flickering, shutting off and on. Initially I had thought it was just bulbs but one Sunday, the lights in areas of my house would shut on and off for a minute at a time. Intuitively knee it was the panel at this point. I went to turn off the breaker and I heard sizzling and cracking. So scary! It was a Sunday so I was super stressed. I called Brian off the recommendation of my realtor friend. Even though he was busy working that Sunday, he promised to come by after he saw his other clients because my situation sounded dangerous. I'm so glad he did. He meticulously spent the next few hours of his precious Sunday targeting and locating a faulty transformer along with singed wires, and arcing on breakers. He told me I was lucky that a fire had not started. The whole panel was dilapidated and aluminum wiring was not helping. I felt the whole panel had to be replaced. Brian came back to re-wire the whole panel. I can now sleep at night not fearing for my life. The panel work he did was not only amazing but beautiful as well. I would highly recommend BR Electric. Met with Brian to do a walkthrough to address some findings on my inspection report I needed addresses. cool guy, but super fixated on convincing me I needed the wires in my panel redone (with the other contractors said I didn't). Anyways, his wiring looks great but he never followed up with the quote and ignored my follow-up request to get the quote. It's so incredibly frustrating to take the time to get a contractor out to your house only for them to ghost you. My takeaway: more interested in getting pretty wiring or Tesla installation pics for the IG than actually delivering quality (or any) costumer service. Would not recommend. read more

If you want honesty, Brian is your man. My power was fading and the problem was a mystery since no breakers ever blew etc. I got an estimate from another electrical company and they quoted me $16,000 for a new electrical panel and a bunch of other unnecessary items. Brian was on my property for three minutes and pointed out that my neutral line was disconnected. PG&E came out within an hour and fixed it for free. I reached out to BR Electric for a floodlight installation in May. Initially, Brian was quick to respond with a scheduling link to perform an onsite estimate. I dropped the ball by responding a month later, but it was crickets from that point on. Around that time, I also went through BR's Facebook page to schedule the estimate, but there was no response there either. I'm sure BR's work is fine based on the plethora of positive Yelp reviews, and this is the primary reason why I wanted to experience their work firsthand. Very mixed feelings on this business, frankly. We needed big ticket items done (Tesla charger/kitchen lights) and those were done fast and well a year ago. But for the half dozen other things that were in the scope of work, that needed a little more time/research/conversation, we were straight up ghosted as soon as the high-profit-margin stuff was done. Repeated requests to look at the many smaller issues, which were still important to us, went unanswered. Feels like the business is about making money first, helping the client second. Once we decided to move forward with the project, Brian had to special order a new breaker for my setup. First of all, I've had a few issues with my electrics (outlets, lights, etc.), that have occurred over these past few months and needless to say I've been uneasy to have just anyone in the house without the proper personal protection. I called Brian again to help us replace our whole tesla charging station. He had did my install back in 2014 and it has always worked great, but I think my husband over our charger and messed it up. It was able to charge two model s all these years with not even a problem! We are in Danville San Ramon area and Brian lives close by and was able to come the very same day to fix any problem that he can fix, but The charger is messed up cause I think my husband ran over it with his car.. he won't admit that though! Brian looked at it and told me to get a new charger cause that's what's broken and he'll come and install it for me. So I got a new charger the next day, and he was able to come by late that very same day to help do the install. He's our man! When we want something done, we need it done right and right away! Brian is a wonderful guy, and goes *above and beyond* above and beyond. We had him come in to install a high powered wall charger in our place in Blackhawk/Danville. He turned up the Friday previously to quote us, quoted us a fair price, worked out how he'd do it (and actually found a spot in the center of our garage wall so that we didn't have to decide on a particular place for the Model X), and then said he'd be there Monday. He's clearly spoken, no nonsense and really friendly. So, he turns up, installs the charger fast, and we run into the big issue - the X is *dead*. It had no charge in it. We're all kinda worried, and Tesla wants $500 to come and tow my dead car. Now, I'm not saying exactly what happened because Tesla said "don't do that," but Brian vowed to stay there until we found exactly the way to get a powerless Tesla connected to the wall charger, and it's happily charging. His electrical work is clean, he's honest, he's reasonably price and we're gonna bring him back to do more work for us. He's just that good. I've worked with 3 other installers for Tesla chargers over the last 4 years (long story), and Brian is far and away the best. Hire him if you have a tesla, a BMW i8 or BMW i3, or really any electric vehicle. read more

Brian is phenomenal. What I thought was a "minor circuit breaker issue with my dishwasher & garbage disposal" (I know, how stupid is that) turned out to be a giant fire hazard. During his initial diagnosis, Brian saw that the problem required a 4-5 hour fix. He made the time to come back the following day, which was a Saturday... oh wait, a Saturday when the NFL playoffs were going on... to make sure to come out to fix the problem. I called BR because I came home and some but not all of my electric was out. I tried resetting all the breakers...no change. BR asked a few questions and promised they would come out but suggested I call PGE first even though some power was working. Said PGE is free and sounds like it is a PGE equipment problem. I followed the advice. After four PGE trucks came and went everything is fixed at no cost. What this tells you is BR is honest, knowledgeable, skilled, helpful and intelligent. And they answered the phone on a Sunday afternoon. I do have some upgrades I was thinking about and now I know who to call! read more

Whoever picked up the phone I didn't catch the name, but almost certain it was Brian. Was the most reliable electrical technician I could have called for my problem. Had a problem for over 24 hours and when I described my situation, Brian instantly knew what it was, and even told me why I thought it was a certain way. I thought fire alarms were beeping in my house for days, but after doing everything and calling every other technician, they all needed to come out to see the problem.
