After visiting multiple auto shops I kept receiving such entirely different explanations for what was triggering the particular diagnostic codes and huge variations in what services would need to be done in order to fix the issues, that I almost gave up. As a young woman, I am well-versed in the stigma of dealing with employees in male-dominated service industries. Most women would rather go to the dentist than to a repair shop with the anxiety of possibly dealing with rude, snarky, dishonest employees. Not only did it not make sense that I was getting such different information from the service shops, but the manner in which I was treated was downright degrading. My family and friends told me to bring along my boyfriend in order to get up front and honest information. I explained that people can end up overpaying for services if they don't understand what's wrong with their car or the repair. This to me is unacceptable - I should not have to have a male standing beside me to be listened to, let alone actually HEARD. I did one more search and found BHC AUTOMOTIVE (which was only 6 minutes from me), and thought, "well, ill give this one more try". After replacing the "Secondary Air Injection Valve" as well as the "Fuel Pump Assembly" (NOT EASY WORK!)... I am happy to report I am now driving a legal, safety-inspected vehicle after months of headache! And for a VERY affordable price (almost half the cost of what others had quoted). Glen and his crew are bottom line - AMAZING. They are honest, genuine, trustworthy, reliable... I could go on and on. They are also HILARIOUS! While they were unable to look at the car that day due to existing appointments, I talked to Glenn for some time who freely gave me some very valuable advice. He was incredibly polite, professional, and helpful, not to mention generous with the time he had in order to help me. His advise helped me to take appropriate action that in the end led to my being able to purchase the car with confidence. While I may live some distance away, if ever I need a mechanic in this area again, I will surely contact BHC. Later that evening, they called with a repair estimate of $2,156 to replace the radiator fan, thermostat, and tires, plus $309 just to refill the antifreeze. When I called to ask about alternatives, they only reduced the price by $20. That felt excessive, so I decided to get a second opinion. I ended up going to NC Complete Auto Care, where the radiator fan was replaced for $881. They didn't charge for refilling the antifreeze and said the thermostat wasn't an issue and did not need to be replaced. They also let me know I could safely wait on the tires for a couple more months. I appreciated the transparency and will be taking my business there from now on. I can't recommend Cary Car Care based on my experience.

No call or text Wednesday 10/23/24 so I called at the end of the day and was told they hadn't started working on the car yet but I was in the queue for the work to be done in the morning. I called today Thursday 10/24/24 and they still hadn't touched the car! And that's when the mechanic told me the appt. was for the 30th. I realize it was my mistake on the scheduling but why didn't the check in lady tell me I had the day wrong? And why didn't someone notice yesterday when the car was sitting there all day? And why did they say the car was in queue to be worked on in the morning? I'm on my way out of town for a family emergency and this messed me up so badly. I've been calling all over to see if I could get a rush job on the work. Really terrible service and I will never go back here or recommend them. Update: I appreciate the businesses response but there was another aspect of this situation that bothered me. When I realize the date mistake I asked the guy who answered the phone if they could squeeze me in. He said: if someone who has an appointment doesn't show up or cancels we can get you in. But I can't make any guarantees. I kind of expected that he'd try to see if he could accommodate me but he just said sorry...can't do anything. And I would feel differently if he had at least shown some empathy.
