This is the cutest newer (not much over a year old I believe) small business bakery in Brentwood…read more It is right next door to S&S cigarette/candy shop on 51 and near 51 wings if you're familiar with the area. It appears to be family owned and the woman who owns it has her brother (who I met) and other family helping her. I found out about her bakery on Facebook from promotional posts in our community groups and she seemed very excited about her opportunity, eager to try unique cupcakes and other recipes you don't find at your typical bakery. I believe I also read it was her dream to own a bakery so that was a nice tidbit to hear come to life in our community. I'm not a sweet eater but my son is so I wanted to support. She had puddings for sale (purchased 'dirt' which is a chocolate pudding with cookies and gummy worms, I tasted it for my review and it was very thick and rich - children's favorite her brother shared, $6.50 for a good sized container pictured). I can't recall all of the pudding types prepared but see photo. My son loved it! Distinct richer flavor than typical dirt pudding, I think and perhaps that is worth the steeper price (in addition to supporting small business). I purchased a s'mores cupcake ($2.50-$3 cupcakes run - much detail and extra products to make these) which has the graham cracker stick in the middle, marshmellow tasting cream and chocolate cupcake - my son also enjoyed, what kid wouldn't. I really like how they package the single cupcakes if you see in the photo it is propped up around it to not fall or mess with its presentation while you carry it. She also had nilla wafer cupcakes, strawberry pretzel salad cupcakes, oreo cupcakes, strawberry shortcake ones and more. Their cookies were sold out and I did confirm she primarily specializes in cupcakes. Nice to note that easy free parking upfront, can order on delivery through door dash, accepts cards or cash, can take preorders for holidays such as pies and puddings which I believe she posts on her social media. Delicious and quality products. Really cute cupcake designs on interior which adds nice touch!

NEW bakery alert for those of you in the South Hills (or willing to travel for the good stuff)…read more They're located on Route 51 in Brentwood, a couple of doors up from 51 Wings. It takes some guts to open a small business during a pandemic, and the young entrepreneur behind this one deserves your support! Love Made Edible is focused on a rotating variety of gourmet cupcakes but has some other surprises. I was very excited to find this banana pudding, for instance, complete with vanilla wafers just like the Magnolia-inspired version I make at home, and it was so delicious. Cupcakes range from simple but perfect vanilla to filled varieties. There's also an Insta-worthy wall mural. Check them out!

When you step up to the window to order, you can see what an amazing job they did on the inside. It a tiny, cute kitchen and decorated perfectly. They had several different types of cupcakes available and I was excited to try a few. I decided on 3 different flavors: Strawberry Fields, Queen of Tarts, and The Acorn. The Acorn was a chocolate/peanut butter combination that features a cute little acorn-shaped buckeye on top. The peanut butter flavor definitely came out. The Queen of Tarts was a terrific lemon/raspberry flavoring. Not only did the lemon cake taste very citrusy, but there was fresh raspberry preserves inside the cake mixed with a lemon curd. My favorite, though was the Strawberry Fields. The fresh strawberries in the middle, combined with the perfect buttercream on top was just the start. On top of the buttercream icing there was a dusting of strawberry crumble. The flavor of strawberry really came through on this cupcake and it was delicious. The icing on all of the cupcakes was smooth and delicious. There was quite a bit of icing, which can sometimes take over the cake, but that is probably just personal preference. The cake, in my opinion, could have been slightly more moist as the cupcakes were all a bit on the crumbly side. But all in all, the cupcake flavors came through wonderfully and I really enjoyed all the combinations.

This is a top-tier Pittsburgh bakery in my opinion. I really enjoy the cakes here. There's…read moresomething about the frosting that is so light and delicious. It's kind of a cross between a whipped cream and buttercream. They have a great assortment of pastries, cookies, cakes and more. Today I bought a Memorial Day cake but seriously considered adding the babka bread, which looks like a long danish. I inquired about the chocolate one and was told it was filled with chocolate and hazelnut. Next time for sure. I can often find an easy parking space around the bakery but if not there is a lot across the street, make sure to still pay via the Go Mobile PGH app. The individual cupcakes are piled high with frosting and so decadent. I also find prices here very fair. They have also recently added a little section to the store with Pittsburgh souvenirs for anyone on Mount Washington visiting the city. The interior is a little dim and dated and could use a refresh imo but the treats are first rate. Pro tip, if you are on the Too Good 2 Go app, they frequently offer a surprise box of leftover pastries from the day. Look them up and sign up for notifications because you will need to be on any drop from them right away or it's gone.

I stopped by here yesterday afternoon to get some sweets for later with my wife and her parents…read more The inside of this place looks much like most bakeries, with a display case in front next to a cash register and then a smallish area to order from. It did also have a sort of weird layout where it looked like the ovens were maybe up some stairs in the back but that is not really anything that the customers need to know. After looking over the cupcakes in the display case my wife and I decided to split the lemon and blueberry cupcake which had a blueberry filling and also the salted caramel one. We ended up taking these home and then eating them later in the night. They were both decent cupcakes but the opinions of my wife and myself differed as to which one was better. I preferred the salted caramel as it had a nice strong caramel taste while she preferred the lemon and blueberry which I thought needed to be stronger. In the end though we were satisfied and happy to have been able to try more than one flavor. The bottom line for me is that I would stop by here again in the future. Buying the cupcakes was a breeze and the flavors of them were pretty good as well.

The cupcakes looked beautiful and tasted delicious, and both the bride and guests were beyond pleased! In addition to the actual product, the customer service is top notch. The owner was willing to work with me on whatever flavor combinations, icing styles, and decorative features I wanted for the cupcakes, and the price was reasonable. I highly recommend them for baked goods for events or just to satisfy your sweet tooth!
