They raised the prices a bit. 12 oz is now $11 and 16 oz is now $14. This is not required but the suggested serving for 12 oz is two base and for 16 oz, you can choose up to 4 bases. I went with a medium and went crazy on the bases. To be honest if I were to come back selecting two is more than enough. Too much and the flavors just mix together and I couldn't tell which is which. Bowldega serves an amazing, frozen açaí bowl with extremely fresh ingredients and lots of flavor options. We ordered the açaí with strawberries, blueberries, bananas, honey nut granola, and agave. Situated in the design district, this is located in a great spot to stop by for a quick bite! I love their acai bowls, and they always full up to the brim. You're able to customize your bowls based on whatever toppings you'd like, and they have some of the best variety in Dallas! I've also ordered ahead, and they do a great job having them ready for pick up without needing to wait! Best açaí bowl in DFW! This was just what I needed after a long morning of being outside in the sun. The team was very friendly and welcomed me as soon as I walked in. I love that the menu is very simple so I didn't have to think long. I went with the açaí and coconut base with a few different toppings (see picture). There's a good mixture of toppings so you should def be able to find something your speed. Only took a few minutes to make and there's a good bit of seating if you want to eat in. PARKING: Commerce St. has side street parking available, but otherwise this is a walk-to kiosk-type location. PRICING: $1 more than posted, so the 12oz was $10. I did learn that acai is pronounced much differently than i expected. I'll need to revert to Google translate to recall it. (UPDATE: acai is pronounced "ah-sigh-ee") One thing I'm struggling with, is, concept: is this like an adult version of a pudding cup from kindergarten, but way more healthy? It's downtown and it's downstairs from the Bamboo Club. A bouncer opened the door and let me in and it's a much smaller space. No seating. The employee working didn't greet me at all, but she was making orders so I guess I can give a pass. I just expect someone to speak and say "hello give me one moment I'll be right with you" or something. But anyways, I got the same bowl I usually get because I'm addicted. You have the option to choose as many different smoothie bases as you want, as many granolas, and as many toppings all for the same base price- which is awesome. The consistency of the bases are perfect, like a nice ice cream texture so it doesn't melt too fast. I got the açaí, mango, and blue coconut as bases and they were all delicious. I've been to this location twice. The last time I came here my body felt like it was fighting something shortly after eating this. I felt a little sick and thought that maybe they were a bit unsanitary but the bowl was very good. I decided to give it another try because of how good it was, The second time I came here, as you can see in the photos, there was a hair in my bowl. I didn't want to leave a bad review but I went in for a refund after only my second bite and they said they don't give refunds. I didn't feel like it was fair paying $9 for a bowl that had a hair in it, Especially because the hair seemed like it was dug into the base so I wasn't sure which base it came from the coconut or the açai. Why would I want another bowl not knowing where the hair came from? Anyway, I wasn't going to argue. They gave me another bowl and I'll explain to my friend what happen and if they choose to eat it great, I'm not eating it. I'll just be out of nine dollars and that's OK too. The girl that helped me seemed very apologetic and I will say that the bowls are delicious. I'm sure this is an isolated incident but with COVID I just don't feel right not warning people. read more
