100/100 EXPERIENCE! My mother and I visited Recipe in Oak Cliff for the first time, and let me just say--this is the cutest little restaurant that packs a BIG punch! From the moment we walked in, we were greeted by the nicest gentleman who took our order and made us feel right at home. We ordered two taco salads and some of their natural Kool-Aid, and everything was delicious! But what really made this experience special was the community. While we were there, other vegan patrons started coming in, and somehow we ended up having an hour-long conversation with fellow plant-based food lovers. It felt less like we were simply eating at a restaurant and more like we were connecting with good people in a welcoming community. And the timing couldn't have been more perfect for me. I've been doing a raw detox all week, so finding a place where I felt completely comfortable with the food, the atmosphere, and the service was such a win! Good food. Good people. Good energy. Wonderful community. Everything about our experience was 100/100, and I already know my mother and I will definitely be back! If you're in Dallas/Oak Cliff and looking for delicious plant-based food with a welcoming atmosphere, put Recipe on your list! read more

Ever so often I find my way back to Recipe Oak Cliff for some vegan food. Learned about them years ago. Although I'm not vegan, I do enjoy good vegan food. It's been so long that if memory serves me correctly this is the place that introduced me to jackfruit. My first order may have been the jackfruit slider (no longer a menu item). Customer service is always warm and friendly. They always answer any question I have. Today's visit was no different. I got the BBQ Jackfruit Taco as well as the BBQ Jackfruit Salad. I enjoyed both dishes. I need to come by more often and try some of the other menu items. read more

Great health quality food and drink options! Kind Service & Ambiance was giving "safe space, ask permission before you ask forgiveness." I recommend for anyone looking for fresh pressed juice, smoothies or vegan options in the area though I drove a good 17 mins to try it! read more

A special, vegan jewel located in the heart of Oak Cliff. This little jewel represents the truth that communities such as Oakcliff desire to eat healthy be healthy and live healthy. I enjoyed my jackfruit taco and vegan burger along with my PB&J smoothie the food was delicious. The food was fresh, and the service was wonderful as we all know vegan meals are not cheap because of the intense labor and so I would say that the pricing here is moderate. many customers come here and grab and go but this establishment has a nice area to sit and eat and enjoy your meal. Overall, I was very pleased with the food with the smoothie and the customer service. read more

They took my order said they'd bring it to me @ table then needed to retake it....they took my money first and did not forget that..

My first time here was today and it wasn't easy to spot because they don't have a large sign or anything that says the name of their restaurant - you really just need to pay close attention. The parking lot they have is a fairly decent size and I was able to easily find a space. When I arrived no one else was inside waiting or ordering which was nice. The owner greeted me and told me I was lucky because they are usually very busy. She informed me that they do not use impossible meat or anything of the sort, and that they make everything in house. Very nice. On the menu for the day was a hamburger or tacos. Not sure if they change the menu daily or if you can request other things but that's what I saw besides the juices. I chose the bbq jackfruit tacos. Today was my first time trying jackfruit and it was excellent. You choose how many tacos you want and I decided to get 2. It was paired with red cabbage, green onion, avocado and there isn't a strong bbq flavor but it was just right. It comes with a side of grainy chips but I wanted a side of something else and I chose the plantain fries. The only reason I didn't give this place 5 stars is because the plantain fries were a bit greasy and some were soft but others were a bit hard making it a little bit difficult to chew. Judging by the other photos on here I'm assuming I just got a not-so-good batch but I would come back and try them again. This place is definitely a hidden gem! read more

Well. Let's be real. This place is literally in the middle of a housing edition, across from a church, and totally not close to anything. (If you are not from the area, really in the middle of nowhere!) When I saw the front door, I was a little concerned, but just for 3 whole seconds. The open sign was blinking and I said no matter what, I'm gonna try this place out. Angela whipped me up some delicious smoothie and was very adamant about keeping her ingredients fresh and on point. I really appreciate that. She is the absolute sweetest lady! This nook and chill of a place has been done up well to make it homey and welcoming. I hate that their door was vandalized. I o wish they had one little table and WiFi. But maybe that will be in the works for the future. Clean bathroom with awesome soap! Kudos, and if I'm in the area again, I'll stop by! read more

Finished up a golf tournament near by and was starving because the tournament had no vegan food. Nearly a year later, and the food is still amazing. Who's surprised?! Mad at myself for not visiting more often. Not pictured was the PERFECT tamarind juice I had, which paired nicely with this splendid Sunday special (fresh greens, avocados, a tomaty harissa-like sauce, a mayo-ketchup reminiscent sauce, wonderful patties that I couldn't really distinguish what they were made of, but they were tasty, and some lovely steamed greens). Y'all, I've never had breadfruit before but now it's all I wanna eat! The taste and texture was similar to a plantain for me, starchy, rich, and delicious, and it paired well with all the other stars on the plate; this meal literally gave me life! Thank you Ms. T and the oh-so-kind lady at the counter whose name I didn't catch. Can't wait to come back and leave another perfect review. PLEASE SUPPORT LOCAL BUSINESSES read more

Amazing! Tried to order from our usual place but the online menu was annoying so we tried this place instead! So glad we did! We ordered the vegan burgers over the phone to go! The lady was super nice over the phone and it was really appreciated. Don't be bothered about it being in oak cliff. The place is a true gem! It's small but had enough parking space and was so easy to call and get our food in 15minutes. You can pay by cash or use your card over the phone for pick up right now. The two burgers plus 10% tip was $18. The vegan burgers were big in portion and the herbed in the patties reminded us of thanksgiving stuffing. It was filling but so nice to have a vegan burger that wasn't trying to be meat. Too many places just throw impossible burgers on buns now but not here! It was a homemade vegan burger with all the toppings and a cashew sauce! I got mine with no onion and it was so good. We will for sure be coming often now! I'd give it 10 stars if I could. Truly check it out! read more

This establishment is the true definition of a small business. The owner is the greeter, the cashier, and the chef and it is her mission to please her customers. All of the items are vegan and she has raw options as well. The juices and smoothies are raw and made from scratch. I tried the Falafel Bowl and it was AMAZING! The falafels are dehydrated, instead of fried, and are extremely flavorful! The dressing was so rich and the bowl was honestly phenomenal. I also ordered the Stabilizer Juice which was very rich and filling! I could taste any nutrient. As I mentioned before, you must be patient when coming here, as one person truly does it all. It'll be worth the wait! read more

I sampled the BBQ Jackfruit and the green banana salad....yyyuuuuummmmm!!! I ordered the falafel bowl....WOW!!! I was not disappointed at all! My sister had the zoodles with cashew cream and salad and she loved it!!!! We both ate every bite! This is a vegan raw (few things are cooked) restaurant that is TRULY worth a visit. My order had been made incorrectly when I called about the problem the women blamed it on me by rudely saying I'm sorry your smoothie wasn't the consistency you like, After she had put Non frozen bananas in my smoothie, while letting it sit In The blender as she took other customers orders. I let owner my issue and that her worker was very rude and argumentative Owner stated she would send me an email for a free smoothie, never received the email and that was well over a month ago. Now I just want a refund for a waste of my time. Called and waited a month for problem to be resolved before I left a review. Clearly they don't care. I will not recommend this restaurant, because if they mess up your order they will attack you for it being your fault not theirs. Or at least that's just the experience I had. Food is tasty, portions are small and over priced. Even worse when couple with bad customer service. read more

Oak Cliff was a food desert, so Tisha Crear, after having traveled and lived all over the world, came back home to holistically feed the community. I visited the cafe with a group of 30 for a workshop. All alone, she managed the entire process and the final product was amazing. More, it was about the food, but it wasn't solely about the food. It was an experience, and I particularly loved how she engaged with regulars who came through and ESPECIALLY how connected she is with the food and the people. From the back to the front to the restrooms, everything was clean! My belly is happy, my spirit is happy, wallet is happy, and the crew is equally fulfilled. read more
