My husband and I patronized this restaurant more than once and in my opinion the menu is limited. The food is spicy so if you're sensitive or don't like spicy food, this may not be the restaurant for you. I got the chicken sandwich and when I bit into it, the batter was not cooked all the way through. I don't know if it was a mushroom or cauliflower, but it ended up being kind of doughy and soggy like, because the faux meat was too thick. REVISED : The baked potato review was an error had banked beans they were sweet but with a good flavor. I didn't taste the BBQ sandwich. I'm not sure if I would these particular items again, however I would come back and try the Alfredo and crab cakes when I catch it on the menu... The food I ordered was amazing! I had the chick'n basket that came with bread, pickles and peppers. I also had the spicy chick'n Rasta pasta and the meatloaf with jerk rice. Everything was well seasoned to perfection! You wouldn't know it was vegan. The service was above and beyond, I received a text when my order was ready which isn't what they normally do! The restaurant is order online and pickup only, no seating. Very casual spot in East Dallas with a reasonable amount of parking to pick up your order then leave. I was so excited when I heard about this spot, it reminded me of a restaurant in South Dallas called the munchies which recently closed down a few years ago. This is truly a hole in the wall vegan chicken shack and unfortunately, the hype is not true. I ordered the vegan chicken, which is just mushrooms and they gave me a large serving, but there was no excitement. I could've made these myself and done a better job. I ordered a watermelon juice thinking that it was authentic homemade and it's just juice in a can. The fried mushrooms are a little salty the dipping sauce on the side. It is pretty good, but these are not healthy full of grease. The one positive is the customer service. The staff were friendly. I would suggest inputting your phone number so you get a text when your order is ready (or just make it easy on yourself and use Apple Pay ). The next day I absolutely had to double back for that Fried Fish basket, and let me tell you IT DID NOT DISAPPOINT! If you grew up in the south or had fried fish in the past. This is a basket you for sure want to get your hands on ASAP like rocky. It comes with signature "destiny" sauce and a big slice of bread. The Destiny sauce was so good and a packed with a plethora of flavor that will have you scarping the container. For the last "fillet" I kept it old school. I wrapped that bad boy in my bread and drizzled hot sauce on it. This brought tears to my eyes. Not because of the hot sauce, but the nostalgia this meal brought to me. 10 out of 10 in all areas!! I am new to vegan food. I have not fully transitioned but make small changes but those that know me, know I love me a good piece of fried chicken and the seasoning. My FRIEND ordered for us and we drove to pick it up and eat it at home, lets say food didn't make it out the venue. I had the two piece fried chicken and mac and cheese. First, I can understand the mass confusion of new customers to this business. It's a "closed kitchen", meaning there is no walk in location. There are other confusing elements about this unique business as well, so let me break it down for all the newbies out there before any more awful reviews come out. She's not open 7 days a week. AND, you don't order until you're ready. This is not a place where you place an order in advance and then pick it up at a specified time hours later. You need to order ~20-30 mins in advance of when you want it (or just look at the pickup time drop-down to see the next available pick up time) and then go and pick up your food ASAP. PICKING UP YOUR FOOD Drive to the location. She'll most likely have called you already to tell you she's working on your order. Call her back at the same number to let her know when you're there. Someone will come out and give it to you. Your food will have napkins and cutlery already. There may also be an Uber Eats/Doordash option instead of pickup but I'm not familiar with food delivery services. THE FOOD It's amazing! You won't even believe it's vegan. Everything tasted unbelievable and there was so much! Just take it easy--the food is full of oil, salt, and sugar. So for anyone on a WFPB diet, this place ain't for you. Those greens were among the best vegan greens I've had outside of my own. I'm glad I asked for the extra gravy. It got soaked up by the rice. I liked the Mac more as it cooled down. Vegan Mac is often hit or miss. I don't usually like when beans are cooked with the oxtails but it was good and flavorful.
