Going early is the best way to ensure all the freshest donuts! Delicious smells and no wait this morning. Quick and easy checkout made my Sunday morning.

When I got in El Paso, there has always been a debate on which bakery is better: Gussie's or Bowie. Both are very popular bakeries within the different sides of El Paso and it was something that I was very eager to visit. The first bakery that I visited was Gussie. It was a much nicer place and vibes, but when it comes to Bowie, this place stood out. The pastries here are much better, more options, and the price is better as well. My favorite is their cannoli and I would say that it is on par with the famous canoli place in Boston. Parking is a bit hard to find as you have to use street parking and it is usually full, but it is manageable.

Iconic and famous Latino Bakery in historic Segundo Barrio is a treat! Great pan dulce and plenty of street parking, offers visitors, and neighbors, a chance to eat this delicacy.

Great prices, delicious pastries! If you buy a coffee you get a free donut! Service was quick and efficient.

I think this bakery is so well known and so established in El Paso that it doesn't even need my review... HERE IT IS ANYWAYS! I got out of work in the morning and was freezing I was craving something sweet and hot (or maybe just an excuse to get some comfy food), my coworkers told me about this bakery I know is well known in El Paso but I've never tried it before. It was a line outside at 8am once inside the place smelled delicious and though first my plan was to get only one piece of bread and tamales once I was there I couldn't stop ordering stuff; I had 2 empanadas (apple and pineapple) a chocolate donut, a concha and half dozen of tamales. As you can see the donut didn't survive the road, I was putting it in my mouth as I was driving home , the bread so soft and warm perfect! I'm not a huge fan of conchas I know they're like a Mexican bakery favorite but I just don't see the hype, well let me tell you THIS concha made me believe all my dreams can become true, there's something about the way they make their dough here that the final result is bread so soft and not too "panudo" as my mom would say meaning that it's too thick and dry. Tamales tamales I love tamales but honestly my moms are the best in the world....or so I thought this tamales are so fluffy so greasy (in the perfect way) and the filling is delicious usually when they sell tamales that's where they make their mistake but not Bowie, these tamales are so good I had to call my mom with tears in my face telling her that her tamales are no longer the best in the world. If you haven't got a pan dulce lately go to Bowie and you'll be smiling as I've been this whole week

Had to visit downtown and decided to stop here midday. Even it was around 1pm the bakery had a great selection of pastries. I had been craving cannolis for about a month and I'm glad I found them, these are good. The fruit small pie it's filled with cool whip, I was expecting a tart at bottom but no. The best pastry was the pineapple empanada, but I have no pics as I ate as soon as I could.

El Taquito - Flautas- excellent!

Amazingly good flautas for an incredibly reasonable price. (They have other dishes too, but that's…read morewhat they are known for!) Beans and rice on the side are optional / modest extra charge - they are usually very good and worth adding if you're hungry enough. My favorite sauce is the Chipotle. It's got heat as it's also creamy...I would call it medium (I like spicy food.) If you're getting them to go, you might want the sauce and toppings on the side. They usually ask about that, but occasionally they might forget. Service is usually friendly and efficient even when they are busy. Your food is made to order, so it's fast but not instantaneous. Allow 5-10 minutes for pickup most of the time. The dining room is medium-sized. I would say it's a place to eat and go, not stay and linger.

Stopped at El Taquito for breakfast during our move from WA to TX, and it was such a great choice…read more The staff was incredibly friendly, and the whole place had that warm, local-favorite vibe. We ordered the flautas with chipotle sauce and the chilaquiles with half red and half green sauce. The chilaquiles were absolutely amazing. We added a runny egg since we couldn't do chicken, and it gave the dish extra flavor and a good boost of protein. The flautas (which I'd honestly describe more as taquitos dorados) were crunchy and tasty. We liked the chipotle sauce that came with them, but we actually loved dipping them into the chilaquile sauce even more. Overall, it was a great spot to grab breakfast before hitting the road again for many more hours. Highly recommend!

I think solid is a perfect word for this place. Not the best Mexican food I've ever had, but not…read morethe worst. I bumped it up to four stars for the super friendly service and the excellent aguas frescas. We got there late, about an hour before closing and they were literally trying to get rid of the aguas for free. I guess they have to dump it if they don't use it all. It was close to our hotel so we gave it a try. Portion sizes are good. The taco platter comes with six tacos! I had the flautas Chinampa which came with four beef flautas, beans, rice, and salad. I forgot, the taco platter even came with a baked potato. Prices were excellent. We had gone to McDonald's in the morning and spent more. They also cave us frijoles charros for free. Not sure if this was standard or if they were also trying to get rid of it. I would return for the service and the convenience, but if you're looking for life changing Mexican cuisine, it's not here. What you get is a good amount of decent food at a good price served by great people.

The serving was huge. Everything looked fresh. When I finished, man, was i full. Everything on that plate was excellent. Good flavor. The place was clean and the people were nice. I only had one day but when i come back in town , I would eat here again.
