For instance they don't dilate your eyes if unneeded unless you request it. Side note: the online registration is convenient albeit long. The uploaded photos of your insurance card and license don't go through so they need to scan them when you arrive. Parking is available in spaces surrounding the building.

Everyone is so friendly and always ready to help. We both are currently seeing Dr May. He is awesome!! He shows he cares about his patients by listening and making sure he answers any questions in a way you will understand. He willingly explains everything that may be going on with your eyes and makes sure he follows up at your next visit. He has a perfectly reasonable, logical explanation for whatever ails you, and he does whatever he can to explain it to you. He also uses technology that - prior to visiting his office - I hadn't seen in other optometrists' offices, like the camera that takes a big, clear photo of the inside of your eye to check for any horrifying abnormalities and to compare the overall state of their health year after year. The rest of the staff was really helpful. An employee that was awesome helped me pick frames and I personally didn't feel any pressure to buy, just helpful suggestions about the shape and color of the frames. My exam by Ali Jaffry, OD was the most thorough and best explained examination that I've received since retiring from the US Navy as a 20-year Naval Flight Officer. He took the time to thoroughly explain everything that he checked, the condition of my eyes, and how my prescription had not changed much since my last eye exam in 2019. Selecting frames and lenses for two (2) sets of glasses was also an excellent process. The person helping me ensured that I understood what options were available and best for my eyes. I could not get an appointment for 3 months. Again because of the missed appointment. So finally I just told h er to forget it. We would go someplace else. I rescheduled with a doctor in Fayetteville, NC with in 2 weeks. Not an issue. Im happy to say I dont have to disappoint their entire office staff ever again. I refused some extra testing and signed that I didn't want it, Dr Byrd told me I needed one more test after he did his 5 minute exa, he said it was covered by my copay. the test was the testing I had refused, not covered by any insurance copay the "copay". was the 40.00 charge for the test I didn't want he just referred to the charge as a copay. I think it's very unprofessional to do that. they are 100% about up sales. I paid 119 extra for contact lenses exam and training, I got no training and my entire eye exam took less than 5 minute. I left the office feeling like I had been taken advantage of and questioning whether I needed to go to another eye dr. no change in my prescription but I can't read toad signs I can barely see out of one eye but "it's as good as he can get it" save yourself a lot of money and go somewhere else that cares about their patients

While going over charges at the end, I had a $145 contact fitting fee. I've been wearing contacts for years so no one helped me "fit" anything. After stating they should really be more transparent around pricing I was informed that I was supposed to be told upfront. I asked for one pair of contact lens samples to take with me to use during the two week wait time and was told no. $718 and 3 hours later (no exaggeration ) I was finally on my way out. I did ask if that time frame was typical and was told that it was normal now that they've switched to virtual. I now know after reading other reviews that it's actually not typical. I feel deceived on pricing and my time and patronage were not respected or appreciated. I'll be picking up my glasses (cheapest pair available) and contacts and will never visit again. I'll add that the virtual visit with the doctor and technician was fine and both were professional. Unfortunately this doesn't make up for the rest of the visit but it's at least one good caveat to this.
