I called Groundworks, who came out with their state of the art equipment, found out where the problem areas are, and gave a quote to fix it. Although it'll take a while to be able to afford the cost of fixing the house's foundation, I was able to have them fix the front porch since it is connected to the roof. They did a great job with leveling it, and even explaining to me what they are doing. All in all, I am quite impressed with Groundworks, and will look forward to figuring out a way to be able to afford to get the house's foundation fixed.

One or two I could ignore, but not all of this....for instance: i explained in detail everything on the phone when making the appointment (multiple things outside and inside I wanted to have looked at) and yet the inspector that showed up didn't have any knowledge of anything -- he didn't even know if he was inspecting a crawl space or a basement. clear lack of communication within their team.; the inspector didn't bring his own flashlight and had to borrow ours. all he had was his flashlight on his personal phone. kind of odd.; 3 options/quotes were discussed at the time of the appointment but only one quote was sent to us; when following up via email for the additional info, it was never responded to; a text was sent from the company to me to follow up and i reminded them i was still waiting on the response to my email with the options i discussed with the inspector; couple days later they texted me again asking if i had made a decision, to which i responded they had never sent me the quotes discussed.; they texted me a link to a quote, (so in total, i only ever got 2 of the 3 options discussed), and the quotes are unnecessarily confusing. they don't look like your typical quote, things are itemized as all $0, all the services they offer are listed on the quote even if you're not getting them, it's just strange. the inspector at our initial appointment did seem knowledgable so we were going to overlook the miscommunication/unprofessional flashlight thing. it wasn't a big deal really. but, how everything was handled after our appointment was very strange which makes us uneasy about trusting them with this project. also, there was never any apology for the missing quotes or the miscommunication at all. a simple "sorry about that, we'll send those quotes over shortly" would go a long way. All this to say that with all of this combined, I could not move forward and would not recommend this company.

We called and the owner, Dom, came out quickly to take a look and provide an estimate. He gave us a thorough explanation of what he needed to do and showed us a sample of the binder that he gives his clients containing certificates that treatment was administered. He also explained that just because we could only see a spot, it didn't mean that there was only a little bit of mold and that things could change once the wall was opened up. He wasn't at all pushy, gave his quote and number and asked us to call him for scheduling if we wanted to use his services. We decided to call him back. I was grateful for his earlier warning about the amount of visible mold being deceiving because when the wall with a spot of mold was torn down, the opposite side of the sheetrock was full of mold that had transferred to an adjacent wall as well. The cost of the work nearly doubled, something I was not prepared for but Dom was kind enough to work with me a bit on this. I was very satisfied with his service. It was quick, effective and fairly priced. Dom was also very pleasant, respectful and cleaned everything up after he worked.
