Highly recommend!! We just moved into a new house and had them come out to sweep the fire place. When they arrived they said that it had not been used and there was no need to sweep it. They spent about 20 mins with us going over the details of our fireplace showing us how to use it. And then refused to charge us anything because they said no work was necessary! I have a 13 yr old pellet insert in the fireplace. Stopped feeding Pellets to fire pot. I tried de loading pellets and used a bent clothes hanger to try to unstick it. Didn't work. Called E&E and the person sent seemed to do what I did but it started to feed again. He surmised that it must have freed up between the time of my call and his arrival so he didn't charge me. This is a difficult company to do business and even more frustrating to arrange a representative to come to your house to measure and begin the purchasing process. Let's begin by stating they only make measuring calls in the morning at 900am. Most people work. I made several attempts to have someone come at 400pm. E and E made no effort to help my situation. Moving forward , I bit the bullet and stayed home from work ,!waited for Mike to come at 930am . Guess what, Mike never showed! I called the office and stated he will not be able to make it ! This is a very difficult company to do business with and even more frustrating to arrange a representative to come to your house to measure. It's like they don't want your business. Went to them several years ago for a special brand of wood stove. When I told them where I lived they didn't want to do the work saying my Township was too difficult to deal with. I shelved the idea. Recently gave them another shot at it because they are the only distributor of the stove I want. Once again like pulling teeth to get them out. When I requested they change the location and resubmit the estimate because of an issue they raised with the location of the fresh air kit they disappeared. I've had an appointment set up for a chimney sweep for 3 weeks now and the appointment is tomorrow and they just call me today to say the guy got sick and now they can't make it out until 11/11 and the appointment was set up for tomorrow 10/15?? Awful company and I'm a Realtor too so just told everyone at my office and all of our offices in an email to never use this company. Rude and awful service!!! Since I sit "behind a keyboard with nothing better to do" Still waiting for a call back to fix an issue. After they came out cleaned and inspected a pellet stove I lit it the next day and a fire started in it. They came back out and said there was a problem and they would contact me to come out and fix. That was 5 months ago. Very unreliable service. Of course the money we paid for the cleaning they took. The goal of the cleaning and inspection was for safety. I guess they don't take that very seriously. Do not use this service. Added 6/18/2019 I am editing my initial review because I cannot respond in an additional answer. Your facts are incorrect. I would never leave a negative review because I operate "from a keyboard " . My negative review was based on the facts. I purposely asked the technical how to run the unit because I wasn't Mr. Van Dyke. The technician at that time in December was very nice to explain to me how it worked and how safe it was. As matter of fact I brought up from the basement the pellets to have him show me how to fill, start and use the unit. I was happy at that time with what he did. The next day I did as he instructed. A fire ensued. I am not blaming him or you for the fire. I was concerned that after following his instruction and the fire that something was wrong with the unit not his instruction. I called to be safe and have someone look at it again. After that "free" appointment " I was told we would contact you to get it correct. Those are the facts. I never claimed to say he did anything wrong. I just wanted to get it fixed and if it was faulty I believe it would have been shown in his test of showing me how to use it and be safe. From the tone of your response I can tell you just dont care about the quality of work or the customer. I was very annoyed at the lack of response after being told you guys would contact us to go over options. It's OK. I will find another company who will communicate more professionally. read more

We hired E&E to do a chimney sweep for our wood burning stove. They discovered a major issue with our fireplace and how it was installed. It's unfortunate that our new wood burning stove is basically a fire hazard that was not installed up to code, but we are grateful that E&E discovered the issue. We ended up getting an inspection through them, and they did not charge us for the original chimney sweep. Thank you to the owner and the inspector for guiding us through our options moving forward. We just had a gas fireplace installed. We did not have a fireplace at all, so E and E had to do the construction work as well as install the fireplace, and do the finish work. We could not be happier with the process and the results. They were right on schedule, and professional from start to finish. The contractors who work with E and E, Tretter and Sons, were skilled and meticulous in their work. The fireplace looks beautiful; the marble and mantle surrounds were installed perfectly. They wired and set up our TV over the mantle, so it was a complete job. The cleanup was excellent, leaving everything in great condition. We would recommend both E and E and the Tretters. read more

After having to wait several weeks for an appointment, the service men came out to clean and sweep the chimney and were done in twenty minutes. The job in the past was very thorough and completed to our expectations. This time it was very poorly done. Parts were not removed to thoroughly remove the soot and ash, creating a potential fire hazard! Here we are today wanting to start a fire and are cleaning it ourselves. Removing parts, brushing and vacuuming. Extremely disappointed in the service performed for the money we had to pay....for what?? Wasn't aware I had to sit, watch and make sure that they did the job we paid them to do. Shame on me I guess??? read more
