Employees could use some additional training. I ordered an iced coffee and waited about 10-15 minutes before asking about my order, only to find out it had been forgotten. After I checked in, the barista acknowledged me but then continued serving several other customers while I stood waiting at the counter. Eventually I had to go back up and re-order entirely. The cutest, quaint cafe in Mount Adams. It was a chilly day so we sat inside, but it looked like room for outdoor seating when it's warm. This cafe is sunken in, so you're slightly lower than street level - very charming but also casual and relaxed. A little unassuming, even! The staff was very friendly, welcoming us as we entered and happy to recommend and explain. I got The Rachel, which is similar to a Reuben. Fresh lettuce/cabbage, thousand island dressing was great, and the bread also very fresh. 10/10 would recommend it and I would absolutely return to this cafe when I'm back in Cincinnati! Bow Tie Cafe was the first stop for my husband and I during our recent babymoon in Cincinnati. It had been forever since I was last in Mount Adams, and stopping here was a great first introduction. We went inside and ordered at the counter. The barista didn't seem too enthused to serve us, but the service was fast and correct -- can't argue with that. I got hot chai latte, which was great on the drizzly, cool Cincy day, and we shared a pesto chicken salad sandwich sitting at one of the outdoor tables, near the Father Quinn fountain on the steps by this coffee shop. The salad had great flavor to it. I love chicken salad but find that it can often be bland. This one wasn't. And the outdoor seating area was so charming. You can look out over the entire street. On a good weather day, this would be the ideal spot to read a book, with the sound of the fountain in the background. If I lived in this area, I would be at Bow Tie Cafe all the time. Nice cafe right in the heart of Mt. Adams. Mt Adam's continues to be one of my favorite neighborhoods in the entire city, so I'm extremely happy they have a coffee shop in it. Every time I stop in here the service is friendly and the drinks are made exact to order. They have a decent amount of indoor seating and a few tables outside when the weather is nice. Ive seen quite a few people "working from home" here. I've only ever had the food once, but plenty of people order it when I'm in and it all looks fresh and made to order. Parking can be the only downfall of coming to Mt. Adams. They do have a parking garage nearby for a few bucks. read more

A $5 flat fee parking deck was very close by, a convenience we much appreciated. While all of this is great stuff, it is the quality of the food and drinks that would bring us back. While the menu items themselves are standard wraps, sandwiches, and salads, the freshness, quality, and attention to flavors and details definitely kicked them up a notch over other similar shops. We ordered the club sandwich and the quesadilla. The bread used was bakery quality, lightly toasted. The tortilla was perfectly grilled and crispy. The cheese used in both items was flavorful and plentiful, meat was generous and bacon was salty-crisp. The chicken in the quesadilla was tender and juicy. Flavors bloomed with the addition of avocado, cilantro, black beans, and sweet corn. They weren't just standard sandwiches of meat & cheese on bread. There was pleasure here in experiencing all of the flavors and textures in what would usually be pretty simple fare. My green tea served cold over ice had a hi t of jasmine. This is the ultimate example of a place that has gone to bad self-serve. You order at the counter, then wait for your food, just like at McDonald's. The breakfast sandwich was dry as heck, and it turned out butter for the toast is 50 cents extra. A coffee refill is $1.00. And if you want to sit outside, the only redeeming part of the experience is the patio, the door requires a free hand to get out, which you don't have because you are carrying your food, coffee, and water, with no lid. But a trip to the area during the day will bring you a lot of cool surprises. One of them being Bow Tie. I've been here a few times and always have a killer drink or snack. Most recently I brought a few kiddos in with me for a treat. We bashed on a few chocolate chips cookies and blueberry muffins. The kiddos loved them! As a person with disabilities, I was told by not one but 2 managers: "I can ask whatever I want to" with reference to the conditions I have for which I have a service dog. Only after my reaction this the larger of the 2 woman "get it finally right" and attempted to fumble around the "what tasks has the dog been trained for". Having been at this place twice before (seasonal Mount Adams resident and business supporter) this encounter crossed the line. The ignorance of these Ohioans and/or Kentuckians keeps us and many others from not investing in this otherwise fair City. Truly unevolved. Here are the only items permitted to be asked of a person with a service animal and only if, again only if, it is not otherwise apparent: "In situations where it is not obvious that the dog is a service animal, staff may ask only two specific questions: (1) is the dog a service animal required because of a disability? and (2) what work or task has the dog been trained to perform?" read more

Stopped for lunch during the Art on the Hill Event. Cafe was open and not very crowded. We opted for eating outside on the terraced side of the building which has 3-4 landings with 2 tables on most and the top one with 4 IIRC. Very nice arrangement if you don't mind climbing the hill/steps. Of course if you do, you wouldn't be in Mt Adams. One drawback is if you don't wait for your order, you get to go up and down twice (or more if you forget something. I had the turkey club and my friend has the chicken salad wrap which she wound up eating with a fork and using the wrap as bread. The thing was HUGE. My club was very good, especially the toasted bread. Drink selection was good, neither of us are big coffee drinkers so I had a White Claw and she had her usual coke. I'd definitely would stop again if it's a nice day. Otherwise, I'll stick to my favorite at the other end of St Gregory, Mt Adams Grill. read more

A super cute café in the heart of Mount Adams! Came here on an unusually warm February day, so my friend and I ordered lunch and iced teas and ate them outside on the patio. There are tables inside where you can sit and eat, but the outdoor area is even bigger with plenty of seating and it's all spaced out very well. The menu offered lots of great options from pastries to wraps to salads to power bowls. I got a power bowl that was very good and healthy. My friend got a wrap that she enjoyed, plus it came with a pickle and a bag of chips. Their iced green tea and iced black tea were both very good! They also serve alcohol if you're in the mood for that. I would be nice to go back on a warm spring or summer day and drink a glass of rosé on the patio! Went to Bow Tie for a little brunch before Santa Con! Had so much fun! We were able to get a big table for our big group. The staff was very nice and very accommodating.
