I'm assuming we've all been there - the absolute moment of panic when you realize you have no idea what to get for your partner's mother's dogwalker's sister's daughter for her birthday - or that the occasion is an hour away - or that all the flowers elsewhere are tacky, boring, or dying. And I guess this is where I get to sound like an infomercial: "Well with Bouquets, you don't have to experience this panic or disappointment, anymore!" Despite the fact that this place is called 'bouquets' I've never ordered one from them. Instead, I go here and pick out some flowers. I ain't no carnation or rose kind of gal so I always look for a place with quality hard-to-find flowers. They have everything from yes, roses, but also lilies, tulips, daisies, and my favorite, a bunch of really exotic flowers I can't even pronounce, let alone name. Protozoa? Is that a flower? Or am I naming a single-celled organism? See, I'm horrible with botany. I just know good stamen when I see 'em. Anyway. This place is phenomenal and the first and last place I go. The flowers are so vibrant and fresh you know they'll last you (or your recipient) ages. They have branches and leaves and mossy greens, among many others, to put in the background of your flowers to make them pop. On average I spend about $20 here but I'm all for simplicity: three incredible flowers and some ferns or branches. Some of the flowers are costly when off-season because they get imported from far away. But they are so gorgeous that I can't complain. The men that work here are usually very helpful and leave me to my odd flower-finding ways. There is only one guy here who can be a little bit cranky on certain days, but nothing to anger or offend me. You know what's surprising? They also have a fairly decent selection of simple, elegant cards. And they vary in sizes from teeny-tiny to something around 6"x4". There's no way, come carnation or high water, I'd go anywhere else in Denver. For over five years, this place has never failed me, giving me a wide variety of healthy, gorgeous flowers. Always in stock. Always immaculate. The only problem? When I walk out of that store I fall so in love with my purchase that it rends my heart to give it away. I live in Los Angeles and needed to send flowers to someone in Denver. I reached out and dealt with two people there... both of whom were BEYOND HELPFUL! After the order was complete, I discovered I gave them the wrong address... instead of delivering downtown... it had to go to Littleton. The owner, BJ, has gone out of his way to rectify a negative experience I had with my wedding flowers last year. At the time, I posted a negative review, but based on the excellent service we've gotten from Bouquets since then, I have nothing but good things to say. My experience was due to one employee in particular, and I've since learned that employee is no longer at Bouquets. My floral budget for my wedding wasn't particularly high, so I feel like most businesses wouldn't have cared about my experience unless I was a higher-paying client. Bouquets, however, took it to heart. As soon as my husband and I contacted them last year, we were given a refund and sincere apology. Tomorrow is my one-year wedding anniversary and my husband just informed me that BJ took note of our wedding day and one year later, created a special bouquet for me to apologize again. Mealy bugs! Mealy bugs! INFESTED WITH MEALY BUGS!!! I bought a cactus from Bouquets. It was infested with mealy bugs. I didn't notice at first which gave them a chance to spread to my other plants, killing several. When I called, I was told that no way could they have come from Bouquets, and that I must have somehow picked them up between the store and my house. They did, however, reluctantly invite me to bring it back for an exchange - which I did. Naturally, I scrutinized the replacement before leaving the store, and what did I find? Mealy bugs. Now, I said, are you sure they didn't come from here? He blamed the supplier, of course, and offered me another plant. I said, what about this problem that has spread to my other plants? He advised me to get pesticides - but we don't sell them. Dear Bouquets, You caused me to lose several plants, some far more valuable than the one that I got from your store. Do you think that this was handled properly? I think you should have provided the pesticides and or replaced all of my plants that were infested and killed due to your negligence. I visited this florist based only on the reviews I saw on Yelp. I was downtown looking for a florist so I decided to try bouquets. And I'm glad I did! I talked to one of the very friendly folks and let them know that I wanted to spend $100 on a bouquet with delivery included. The florist was very thorough letting me know that I would be taken care of. I really didn't worry about what he would put together. That's how much trust I had in him from that brief encounter. I was extremely impressed with my first experience with Bouquets. I have been working down-town for over 10 years, and I have passed this florist countless times. I have heard good things, but up until last week I have never been a customer. I (like most boyfriends, I'm sure) waited until the very last minute to try and order flowers. I called pretty late on the day of her birthday and wanted to know if they were still available to deliver an arrangement to her work. I gave the gentleman a description of what her favorite colors are and what she enjoys stylistically. Oh man they nailed it. Bouquets failed to deliver the flowers to my apartment and told my friends they called and texted me, which they never did. If they had I could have given them the gate code to deliver the flowers. After several calls from my friends they finally contacted me a whole day later. My partner had to go pick them up (super inconvenient location) and they forgot to give him the card with all of their words of support. They did eventually send the card via mail. My friends were pretty upset, they didn't want this to be so much work. Would not recommend. read more

I was happy to find Bouquets, open, friendly and possessing many quality flowers and other items. I picked up a nice yellow orchid for $60, with a nice pot. I probably would have freaked out more about the price had I been less desperate, but the quality seems to be defending that pricey sum.
