I really debated doing this review. I understand everyone gets busy, especially people running a small business. That being said, customers are also busy. I had an appointment for a wedding consultation. I have never planned a wedding, the only thing I really want for my wedding is flowers, Flowers, FLOWERS! To say I was excited for this appointment is understatement. Our appointment was for a Friday at 2pm, and that day turned into a rainy day. I paid for parking and walked a few streets over and I showed up at our scheduled time with my disabled mother. The store was locked and dark! We sat out in the rain for a few minutes before I called and emailed the owner. At 2:10 the owner called me back and said he forgot about our appointment and lost track of time at the wholesaler and would be back in 15 minutes. Again, it was raining and my mother is disabled. We sat outside for 30 minutes in the rain and he never showed. So we left. At 2:45 he calls and says he there, where did we go?! I laughed and said we left after waiting for you in the rain for 30 minutes. He said okay sorry! And that was it. Basically don't count on this place for anything important. I was absolutely shocked he never tried to follow up with a real apology- a phone call, text, email, etc. So I waited a week and half before posting this to give him a chance to make a real apology and he didn't. So I posted this. I don't want to bash local business but this was ridiculous and just insulting to a customer. I'm a person, I went out of my way to visit and hopefully support your local business for one of the most important days of my life. How very rude of you, to just leave excited customers outside in the rain. Good news, we left and went to another local florist that kept their appointment and they got a very happy customer! I'm so glad I didn't use this florist. I could not imagine how terrible it would be working with a business so unreliable and unprofessional and frankly, uncaring. I would not recommend this florist for anything important. Maybe buy off the shelf but don't count on them for an important event! read more

My husband showed up and surprised me with a bouquet of tulip flowers yesterday. I was so Happy with his gift when I saw them but once I laid down the flowers on the counter one of the Tulips broke off the stem. Rose stems were falling off and I asked when did you get them? He said he just came back from the twisted tulip shop. He paid $100 for these flowers where some tulips are almost dying, I could tell these flowers were very old but that didn't stop Nancy from selling them to my husband. When I placed the tulips in a vase another tulip flower broke shown in the pictures below. Nancy didn't provide or give any flower food and his purchase came without a vase. For the men looking to get your women a nice set of flowers please spare your wife the disappointment I've had with the overpriced and falling apart flowers. I called to see if anything could be done and Nancy is a rude lady with no customer service even accusing my husband of probably damaging the flowers. My husband did want to say the son was nice who helped him even with a small ribbon because Nancy and her husband didn't care to. Saying they didn't have the color he was requesting but my husband had to point out to them it was indeed there. Definitely overpriced for your buck with bad quality and no customer service. It's after 6 o'clock on Valentine's Day and my flowers finally arrived after two phone calls to the shop. When I purchased from the company's website I saw no option for a timed delivery so I'll own that piece of it. The picture I just took is far removed from the one on twisted tulips the website. I definitely was expecting a more bountiful bouquet for the amount of money I was spending. I understand today is the busiest flower delivery day of the year but I still expected a better product and maybe a little something in return for the delayed delivery. BEST. FLOWER. SHOP. EVER. Nancy went above and beyond to create the most perfect bouquet for our wedding. It was hands down the most beautiful arrangement of flowers I had ever seen (and I worked in a flower shop for years). She sat down with me and asked very specific questions (types of flowers, how many, budget, colors, feel of the wedding, etc), ensuring she didn't skip any detail, no matter how minor. It was December and an outdoor ceremony in the mts. with just my husband and I, but you would've guessed it was for the queen and a thousand guests! All I wanted was hydrangeas, and she made it happen despite them not being in season and them having to brave the cold. She opened up her shop the day of our wedding before the sun was even up to meet me and make sure everything was perfect. What an absolutely wonderful experience. I went in to the shop in September, thinking that to request orange tulips in the fall was for naught. My brother in law, from the Netherlands, had just passed away and I wanted some nice flowers to put on the several tables to honor him. The flowers had to be orange (the color of the Netherlands). I spoke with Donald and he was beyond fabulous. He found orange tulips and other orange flowers to arrange on each table for the celebration of life. Wow I would give this company 10 stars if they had them I highly recommend. My experience from the email they got responded to at 11 PM last night to the call they promised first thing in the morning. To the kind hearted person that listen to every request in detail... And I have a lot. Met my price range and went above and beyond she created the most incredible bouquet for my very special and dear friend that was exactly as I had envisioned and more. One side of the bouquet has a soft side and the front of the bouquet has a bright side. So it's like having two separate bouquets depending on which angle you turn it. This was an incredible experience from start to finish not to mention that I had actually given them a wrong address and they delivered twice and I was very willing to pay the additional delivery fee especially for the cost of gas right now and they were like nope no problem we've got it don't worry will get them back out. If I could give me zero I would. Supposed to be delivered flowers Tuesday night business closes 430. 5 o'clock get a notice they've been delivered. We're not delivered made no attempt to redeliver. They state they have a sign delivery receipt impossible I have surveillance video nobody showing up to the business after 430. That is when I picked up my wife and we lock the doors to the business. As a daughter of a florist I am always hesitant to order flowers for my mom as she has set a pretty high standard. I was very disappointed with this florist and their response to receiving a call about the flowers dying less than 24 hours of delivery. While they did agree to replace the arrangement what it was replaced with was even worse than the flowers dying and looked like random flowers thrown in a vase not even much of a design. I purchased flowers from the grocery store that looked better. You can't claim to be a high designer florist and provide poor product and terrible customer service. This shop is incredible! The owners are super nice, thoughtful, and excellent with their flowers and designs. I got my wedding bouquet from here (as a gift from a neighbor), and then stumbled back across them for an arrangement for my infant son's funeral. They facetimed me to show me the different flowers they had on hand and how the arrangement would look on a standard table. I let them know that I didn't want the normal white roses and hydrangea combo that normally show up in a funeral arrangement, and they produced the most gorgeous, unique white and blue flower arrangement I could ask for (orchids, lilies, thistles, etc.). It was perfect. On November 05, 2018, I put out a message for a 'Get Well Soon' bouquet to be delivered in the Denver area. This was my first time using the new Yelp! feature. I messaged that I had a budgeted amount, and, conveniently, sat back on my couch and waited. On November 06, 2018, I received only one reply from Donald at the Twisted Tulip who assured me that his shop could fill my order if only I would call, which I did. Now for those of you of you who are not familiar with ordering fresh flowers, and don't really see the point, that is the point. It is an extravagant and frivolous expense. We all know that the flowers will not last and that is part of the gift. So when I got ahold of Don, I explained that I had a very dear friend, just home from the hospital, but still very ill, and I needed a "Get Well Soon" bouquet. When he asked, "What do want"? and I replied, "I leave that up to you", this may have been a mistake on my part. The flowers were delivered the next day, as promised, and, just as I asked, I received a text picture of the bouquet and an email confirmation of the delivery. My dear sick friend was actually thrilled with the flowers and gushing that I was a "true friend". So, what's the problem? Personally, I was not so happy with the bouquet. I thought is was slightly odd looking. So, just to check my own opinion, I asked two other ladies and they agreed, It was odd. It was off balance, made up of orange and purple flowers, and had two really large blooms (Lilly and mum), and then a whole bunch of tiny purple flowers we couldn't identify. Besides that, the shop forgot to give me the promised Yelp! 5% discount and then made up for it, after I reminded them, with a 10% discount. (Personally, I would rather forgoe the discount to get my order right.) Best advice: Floral providers are a different sort. They are creative people and not so good at customer service. Giving Fresh Flowers makes you really stand out. So pick one shop and stick with them. Its really worth it in the long run. There are many opportunities in life where fresh flowers are needed so this is one regular shop you cannot afford to be without! read more

I received the most beautiful arrangement from The Twisted Tulip, ordered by my out of state parents for my birthday. As no one answered the door when they were delivered, a very professional sounding delivery man called me on my cell phone to let me know, which I much appreciated because temperatures were over 100 degrees here on the date of delivery and he wanted to make sure someone would be able to put them inside. My mom said that the person who she ordered from could not have been more friendly, helpful, and pleasant and when I sent her a picture of what I received she said it was exactly what she had requested to be sent. I think the only reason why I didn't say anything while I was standing there is because of my pure and utter shock. I stopped in to ask for a bouquet to be put together using all white flowers. I said that I would like to spend about $40. They asked when I would need it and I said right now if at all possible? I suggested maybe use some hydrangeas because of their "fullness" and she agreed and proceeded to go put them together. When she walked out with the finished product, I was SHOCKED. There was literally, 1 Hydrangea and 3 Lilies, with minimal greenery in a small, square vase. THAT'S IT. I am NOT exaggerating. Literally, 1 Hydrangea and 3 Lilies, with minimal greenery!!!! For $43.00!!!! I asked if there were any way to make it look "fuller" and both of the women there sort of hemmed and hawed about "well, with it being only $40...." I said, well how much is one more Hydrangea?....The one woman said $7, and because I needed these flowers, didn't have time to go to another florist, I said "just charge me for one more hydrangea then." While the other woman is ringing me up, she said "actually, they're $9" and I said "well, can you work me out a deal for the $7 that she quoted me?".....she said "yes." SO. The moral of this story is. If you want a little amount of flowers for a lot of money, this is the place for you. I am SO disappointed. PLUS, on the drive to deliver said flowers, I noticed that the lilies even started to have brown edges. The ONLY reason why I'm giving this florist a 1 star rating is because she jumped up and started putting together a bouquet immediately, otherwise I'd give them 0 stars. I reached out to them and wrote them an email. No one ever acknowledged my message or email. I kept meaning to write a review about my displeasure but never got around to it. Note your run-of-the mill florist, the Twisted Tulip creates works of art for your home or business. They use common and less common items in their designs. Carnations in a coffee cup they are not. CAVEAT EMPTOR --I've made numerous flower orders with different businesses over the years. Currently, I placed a phone order with Nancy at Twiwted Tulip. BUT, 1) they had trouble taking the order due to noisy the shop area, then they 2) misspelled my daughter's name on the message, then they 3) called me in hawaii, after hours, because they couldn't deliver due to heat, 4) they could not reach the contact at the number I gave, though I was able just moments later. Finally, I complained a bit, but the attitude was to tell me not to use their service. I rhetorically stated, "why would I?" Gladly there are many other reputable florists. read more
