Mine and the hubby's favorite place around town is Boundary Road, and one of our good couple friend's favorite place is Boundary Stone. Since we had taken them to our Road, it was time for us to go to their Stone....let the battle of the Boundaries begin.
This was mine and G's first time at Boundary Stone and we went to celebrate our friend's birthday. We were informed they do not take reservations, which scares the crap of me...I like having reservations, but our friends said it should not be a problem. Me and G arrive and it is packed! And our birthday friend was waiting at the bar scoping the place out in order to try and snag a table. Using his ninja eyes, he spotted a group of 4 leaving a booth in the bar area, and we slid ourselves in the booth before anyone even knew what hit them.
We were quickly greeted by our server who gave us the menus and asked if we knew what we wanted. We told her we needed a sec and she came back with waters for us. Since birthday guy's wife was stuck in traffic, we ordered our drinks and the wasabi deviled eggs and the hummus plate.
It was very busy and very loud on a Thursday night, and the people standing/crowding around the bar, was more than often hovering around our booth and the servers had to squeeze by them. This must mean nothing but good things for the bar/restaurant...that means they are doing something right.
The 4th person in our group finally arrived and we quickly ordered. Here is what we devoured.
Two to the Dome = 3 Stars beer (so yummy..this was mine and the other wife's drink of choice)
Corsair Whiskey (also super yummy) on the rocks
Corruption = Beer from DC Brau
Food:
Wasabi Deviled Eggs= wonderful! Three Eggs, Not overly filled with the "filling", but instead had a perfect portion nesting inside the split egg with a tiny red chili pepper nesting on top of the mountain of wasabi/egg yolk mixture. You can definitely taste the wasabi, but it was not over powering. And if you DO like a ridiculous amount of yolk mixture in your eggs, they were nice enough to put a cut little circle portion under the eggs for you to enjoy/or not if you choose.
Humms Dip with Pita Bread = Standard hummus platter, tasty, nothing that blew my mind...but alas a good appetizer.
Chicken Lettuce Wraps= I ordered these and they were quite delicious. Instead of minced meat(typical in lettuce wraps) it was more like pulled chicken. Good flavors. The side sauce was on the sweet side, but good. I would have loved if they were a touch spicier. Three came with the order, which was a perfect amount. (I would order them again)
DC Brau Chicken Sandwich = Not a fried sandwich, but a pulled chicken again. The husband said it was good, I didn't taste it, but I take his word for it. It came with the side of fries, and homemade ketchup. The fries were good, and everyone else at the table agreed that the homemade ketchup was not great...too sweet.
Blue Burger (without the bun) and a side salad instead of fries. The blue cheese and carmalized onion burger without the bun....She devoured it...and has ordered it several times before.
Falafel=The birthday boy ordered the falafel, he had never had it before. It came us a roll and honestly, I don't remember him saying anything about it...so it might have been good, might of not been...that was the only mystery dinner at the table. Sorry I couldn't help on that one.
Our server, Nicole, was nice, but very busy. For the amount of time she had with us, she was very pleasant and friendly and put our orders in and brought them out with ease/not one hiccup. She always made sure we had what we wanted/needed and despite being extremely busy, always managed to make sure our waters were filled and if we needed more beer.
Over all great experience. I think we would like to go back when it was less crowded, we like to hear each other when we talk. We will return. read more
