Last night, my husband, my aunt, her husband, and I had the misfortune of dining at this restaurant. We were visiting from California, where I was preparing to testify at the House Judiciary meeting today. After a long day of preparations, we simply wanted to find a place to eat before my big day. Unfortunately, our experience at this restaurant was an absolute disaster from start to finish.
We had called earlier in the day to inquire about reservations and were told by a gentleman at the restaurant that they weren't necessary, and we should just come in at 7:30 PM. Little did we know that this would be the beginning of a series of disappointments.
When we arrived at 7:15 PM, the restaurant was shockingly overcrowded, with several holiday functions and a full bar. We were informed that they could add us to a waiting list and seat us whenever they could. Considering we had all traveled from California and had specifically inquired about reservations, this was already off to a bad start.
After a frustrating 45-minute wait, we were finally seated in the loud bar area right next to a blaring speaker. The music was so loud that it was causing discomfort to my 70-year-old aunt's ear drums. We were asked to move, so they relocated us to an awkward spot near the front door.
Once we were settled, our server finally made an appearance, and we ordered appetizers. I must admit that the food was actually quite good. However, our positive feelings about the meal were short-lived.
The experience took a turn for the worse when the server returned to clear our appetizer plates and accidentally spilled ranch dressing all over my aunt's scarf, pea coat, and white sweater. While they did their best to clean it up, her sweater was ruined, and they placed it in a bag for her. She had to endure the rest of her dinner with her back completely wet.
We expected a manager to come and apologize for this unfortunate incident, but it never happened. Instead, a busboy, who seemed to be managing the door, approached us to inquire about the situation, as multiple staff members were trying to clean up the mess.
As the evening continued, we had to hunt down our waitress to inquire about our entrees. No manager came by to discuss the incident, offer any compensation, or even ask how they could make amends for ruining my aunt's clothing.
When we finally requested the check to escape this ordeal, a person who I assume was the manager brought the credit card machine and promptly charged us $177 without offering a single word of apology. The lack of customer service and the apparent indifference to our terrible experience left a bitter taste in our mouths.
I will be disputing the charge with my bank and sending a formal letter to the restaurant, demanding compensation for my aunt's ruined items. How can you truly enjoy a decent meal with ranch dressing all over your scarf, peacoat, and a wet back, and a complete disregard for your feelings and clothing items? This was unquestionably one of the worst dining experiences we have ever endured. Terrible customer service, zero accountability, and a complete lack of care for their patrons. We will not be returning, and I strongly advise others to steer clear of this establishment. read more
