Boulevard Pizza has become a regular place for us. We like their pizza, daily specials, Happy Hour and the laid-back ambiance. We went last night for their Monday special: a large 1-topping pizza for $11.99! We also ordered sides of Rojo Potatoes and Chicken Wings. And since we arrived during Happy Hour (4pm-6pm), we also had a pitcher of Icky IPA for $9. We had all of this while sitting in the newly remodeled bar area where we were able to catch some college hoops playing on both of their TVs. This was a dream date for my hubby. We came into Boulevard Pizza at 8pm with some friends that came into town and they weren't busy. About 6 people besides our party so it was pretty quiet inside. I did like that the tables were large and there was a separate section with the bar. We ordered a pepperoni pizza and it was pretty good. The service was pretty quick. They gave us a whole cup of ranch which was very appreciated! The crust of the pizza was crunchy in a good way! I feel like it could have used more cheese though. I've passed by this restaurant a lot and this was the first time I've tried it. Not sure why this place has such high reviews on Yelp. The appearance of the building is a classic Pizza dinner. There was plenty of room to sit, but not all the empty tables were cleaned off. The service was pretty slow with orders taking 50+ minutes. I happened to use the Men's room while I was here and the urinal stalls were abnormally high and the bathroom wasn't very clean either. I ordered Garlic Cheese Bread, Fried Chicken and Rojo Potatoes, and a Basil Pesto Pizza in order to try a fair assortment of their menu offerings. I was sad to see their only dessert option is what looked like homemade brownies. The Garlic Cheese Bread was the best part of my entire meal. The price was only $4.95. The breads texture was nice and soft. The only thing I didn't really enjoy about the bread was the use of garlic powder; made it feel like something I could easily make at home. Next up, the Fried Chicken and Rojo Potatoes. The potatoes left me wishing I opted to try some of their ranch dressing because they weren't great by themselves. The Fried Chicken was a bit overcooked and on the dry side. Decent fried chicken leftovers taste good cold later; these did not. Finally, let's talk about this disappointment of a pizza. I tried the Basil Pesto Pizza and expected light toppings and more of a basil Pesto taste. This pizza had an overwhelming amount of peppers and onions (my least favorite part) to the point where it overpowered the pizza as a whole; I managed to try 1.5 slices before throwing the whole thing in the garbage. I'm a big pizza fan and happened to be visiting Reno on my birthday, so I needed something that was guaranteed to be tasty. While I 100% sold on Boulevard Pizza after doing my research, it sounded like a local favorite and worth a shot. Based on other reviews, I expected the wait to be a little long and was happy to find that it was pretty regular. They were packed and we found the only available table, but the pizza only took about twenty minutes to come out. My only complaint is that our table was pretty dirty and when I asked for the cashier for a way to clean it, he handed me a wet rag. I'm not grossed out and was fine cleaning it myself, but I think 5-star service would be to have an employee come clean the table for us. That being my only complaint, I loved the family vibes of the restaurant and it was fun to watch kids run around with little toys for the arcade and machines. The pizza was bomb. 100% exceeded expectations and I wish it was local to my area so that I could go more often. We went with standard pepperoni on half, veggie combo on the other side. Normally, I found that stacking veggies tends to make the crust underneath pretty soggy and I was especially worried that would be the case with a half/half pizza. They completely avoided that issue and the slices were perfectly rigid without being to tough to chew. I'd give a 5 star review for just the pizza and mozz sticks but the dirty table kinda rubbed me the wrong way. I got two salads and didn't pay attention to them until I got home. I'm not sure these salads qualify as a side, more an after thought and not worth the $10. price. The containers barely contained salad and I was given expired blue cheese dressing. Come on, guys, you're the best in town. Please don't compromise your quality. I love an old school pizza joint! They just bring back good memories. This one is especially special because my dad used to work at Shakey's around the time I was born. I love that they have stuck pretty close to that menu! The pizza was decent for the price. I've had better and I've also had worse. The sub sandwiches are pretty impressive. They're huge and only $7.50! They also have award winning wings! We tried the Thai flavor and the Lemmon pepper. They were expertly fried with the perfect amount of crisp. They have lots of options! I think I'm ready to label Boulevard my favorite pizza in town. I love the corn meal dusting on the crust to make it extra crispy and the thin crust. We tend to be creatures of habit and order the #1 combo, which includes a medium 2-topping pizza (we get pepperoni and sausage), a half order of Rojo potatoes and 6 wings (I go back and forth between barbecue and medium). The Rojo Potatoes. This is probably my favorite part. They are battered potato coins fried to perfection. I haven't gone in just for potatoes, but I could see it happening. They are that good. We like to order ahead and pick up our order to take home, but are happy to sit in the bar for a cocktail. Happy hour is from 4-6pm and well drinks are only $3! On Friday/Saturday, I would call ahead. They are busy and the restaurant fills up! If you're a large party call ahead and see if they'll hold a table for you. There's a little arcade for kids, so the tables tend to stay full and crowds clear slowly. read more

First I have to say the food was great but the service is where they failed. I placed an online order and was given a 30-40 min pickup window. It was lunchtime on a Friday. When I arrived I could only see one person in the kitchen and no one at the counter. I stood there for about 5 mins before someone (which appeared to be the that one person in the kitchen) came over to help me. Hint to service business acknowledged the customer and let them know you will be with them soon. I told him I had an online order but he couldn't find it. It wasn't until I showed him the order on my phone that he was able to find it. Which to me is a sign that he hadn't seen my order and hasn't started it, but he told me it would be out in about three minutes. 20 minute later he brings out my order and says he doesn't know what's going on in the kitchen but "they" overcooked your pizza. He showed me the pizza and I told him I want a new one made. He said it would take about 8 mins. 10 minute later we got our order and left. Total time to pickup an online order - 30 mins. Also by the time we left there were 4 people in the kitchen. Also I forgot to mention when we came in there was another person in the kitchen but she picked up her purse and left. She saw us but I guess she had other things to do - maybe the owner or related to them? There are so many things wrong with this customer service experience, but I have a few suggestions for this business. Don't offer something if you can provide the service. Re: online ordering. Just have the option for people to call. Second, ALWAYS acknowledge the customer when they enter! Third after you mess up, be honest, the customer will decided the next step. Lying only pisses the customer of further - and leads to reviews like this and potential loss of business. Will I go back? I don't know. But I do know that before I do, I will be trying other pizza joints to see if they can do better. Right now I don't plan on patronizing this business again. read more

Like most natives, we loves Chuck's! Been coming here since I was a kid, and it's always been great. Sure, the pandemic has changed some things (like salad bars!) for all food-service businesses, and maybe someday, they'll be back. I was happy to get to treat my favorite mechanic's shop to a pizza day for their great service a while back, and Chuck's came thru for me. I called the day before to pre-order, and was told a massive order had just came in before mine, yikes! Chuck's was able to squeeze my much smaller order in for the next day close to the time I was hoping to deliver the lunch, and even tho it wasn't quite ready when I arrived, they still got me out the door within about 20 minutes of their quoted time, so it was OK. Not the eww, what happened to this place late 90s Shakey's right before nearly all of them disappeared, but the place-to-be, good arcade, crispy crust pizza w/a mildly tangy sauce, good cheese, fried chicken that's screaming hot & seasoned to the heavens, and mojos Shakey's we know & love. Delicious, heavenly, buttery soft inside, perfectly dredged and slightly crispy, fried outside Mojos (called Rojos now they're no longer Shakey's). The food can take 30-40 minutes b/c a) it's fresh, b) demand, but if you're not in a hustle the dining room is very clean, spacious, comfy, has a chill vibe, kinda family/kinda beers after a game, sort of place. Good music on the jukebox and baseball on a nice big screen. Lots of appetizer choices. Lots. Room for a group, AIR HOCKEY(!!!)(#NutupButtercup), video games and free refills make this a perfect spot for families, relaxed dates, broke college years dates, a drink at the bar, or low key get together. It is hard to find a better deal in Sparks than Chuck's Boulevard Pizza's lunch specials. You can get a personal pizza or sandwich with a salad from their well stocked salad bar for $5 or $6 bucks. This is a multi use place. I have been here when it is packed with after game (youth or adult softball, soccer, football...) crowds, birthday parties, and game day sports bar types. It feels odd when it is not busy because the place is huge. The service is pretty good. There is a separate bar area for adults. The pizza is a bit above average but not the best in town. The remodel, awesome, staff is either adequate (totally acceptable) or friendly, however the quality is dipping. The commen comment I've make during the last few visits is "it feels like there isn't an adult on site", meaning void of management. We're a big group, lots of food. Speed of food was good.....quality was a different story, but mostly related the pizza. I forget the actual name of things but here goes.... Friend chicken was awesome this time, in recent visits it was burnt but raw inside so they've def improved (hence 3 stars). Jalapeño bites, holy shit, hot af, loved them! Potato rounds, as expected. Pizza; under cooked, toppings were not spread out, and the sausage was clearly put on after cooking, weird. Cheeseburger pizza......run from this monstrosity. I've had this type of pizza, but again it wasn't assembled well. Pesto was good, but underwhelming. To be clear, it's family friendly, great bar, clean. We will keep coming back but hoping that it may return to its former glory. Also, way miss the salad bar. read more

We live in the neighborhood and my husband spoke fondly of going here quite a bit as a kid when it was Shakeys and wanted us to try it. Kids like the arcade area. Definitely a lot of topping choice. I like that you can order pitchers. But, between the wait for pizza and the fact that like all the veggies are like... an afterthought is a drawback. We were craving pizza and decided to try this place out. It was about 4:30pm on a Sunday. Upon arriving, we read their message board above the entrance. It was a commanding statement overlooking the parking lot which said, "Absolutely the worst pizza I ever had." - One guy on Yelp. It just intrigued us even more based on the reviews we read on Yelp We walked in and it looked really busy. The main room has what appears to be a bunch of picnic tables with some others thrown in. There is a back room with a few more tables, booths, and counter seating with some slot machines at a bar. This is the kind of place where you review the menu on the wall and place your order at the window. You also pick up your order from the window when your order number is called. We decided to order the extra large meat lover and a small order of rojo's. We always like taking home the leftovers for work lunches. $25 and change is a decent price for a good extra-large pizza. They told us it would be about 50 minutes. We knew it could be a while based on Yelp reviews so we had a seat at the bar had a few drinks and played some slots. 1 hour and 20 minutes later our number was called. We each already had 2 drinks. We went up to the counter which still had a lot of people waiting to order. We picked up our pizza and rojo's and took it to the bar area where we were sitting. The pizza looked amazing and tasted very good as well. They make a thin crust and it was crunchy on the bottom. The rojo's were also very good. Normally, we would not feel good about waiting over an hour for our order BUT they were upfront about the length of the wait when we ordered and we read the comments on Yelp about long wait times. They have slot machines, a full bar and TV's which entertained us while we waited. The cost of the drinks were very reasonable and we had fun. We will plan accordingly for our next visit and would recommend that others try this place out, the pizza and rojo's were delicious and reasonably priced. read more

I love this place, The pizza is the best thin crust in town! And the fried chicken and popos are well, yummmm. I suggest calling ahead to place your order as the chicken takes a while to fry. They also have a salad bar and a full bar (21 and older please) with gaming. They also have air hockey and a small arcade. The place is great for families and get togethers. I really like the fact that they employ teenagers as they need to learn the value of work and money, besides who want to see a gown man bring them pizza - it is an entry level job. Although I do think they need a little more supervision as there have been times I have gone in there and some of them are not doing their jobs (on cell phones, sitting while the place is dirty and just ignoring customers. What can you say it's boulevard Pizza! Some of the best pizza in town. AKA the old Shakey's Pizza I love the atmosphere but still has that old pizza parlor feel. It's sad that they had to get rid of the salad bar but that's the way the world is now after COVID. It's nice that they still have a few arcade games. Among pizza restaurants this is an old dinosaur but it's a good dinosaur I don't want them to change anything regards to the product they have and the layout. I wouldn't mind seeing some old classic arcade games in there I think it would fit the bill perfectly but I understand everything is about ticket redemption now read more
