Very expensive store inside the Galleria but the prices here are not the most perplexing thing. I really don't understand the significance of all the photographs of models with camels and alpacas. I think animal cruelty people might have a problem with it too but specifically how so many of my pictures get pulled down which are of business products or are taken inside a business, whereas these which don't really showcase anything that this Gucci had on sale whatsoever - not a single item I don't think - and were taken of models who have never been in this particular Gucci store, probably thousands of miles away from this Gucci store. But that's okay. Carry on Yelp. Anyway it's a very expensive store with very high end stuff and you're much better off trying to find discount prices online or going to some kind of an outlet or sale. Because the regular stuff here is just way too expensive. But cool if you like to dress high fashion and be Gaga.

I went back to return it unused, with all of the documentation and was shocked to be told that the company policy is to only allow exchanges or in-store credit within 30 days. When I told the assistant manager of the store (who could not care less about my dissatisfaction) that their online store and department stores that sell their merchandise allow returns all that she kept replying with was: "that's our company policy." Well, as a customer, that is an awful policy and I will NEVER buy ANYTHING from their fashion house again. I would much rather buy items from retailers who care about customer satisfaction (Louis Vuitton, Gucci, etc.). Big mistake. Huge.

They have a great variety of stuff here, but most importantly (to me at least) they have a petite section just like regular J. Crew! I find that a lot of J.Crew clothes are designed for taller women but that means a trip to the tailor's for me under normal circumstances. Their petite selection is pretty solid and all of my petite stuff from here fits perfectly. I'm also a big fan of any place that offers consistently exceptional customer service. The staff at J. Crew Mercantile are excellent, super friendly, helpful, and AVAILABLE! I've never had to wait around forever looking for someone to help me find a size, reach an item out of my reach, etc. I bought a pair of slacks recently and upon wearing them for 3 hours realized they stretched a LOT and that I should have purchased a size down. Their return policy states that items must be unworn but when I brought the slacks into the store they made absolutely no issue about it. They initially offered to refund me and I had to explain that I loved these slacks and just wanted a pair that fit better! It was a happy and casual swap out and in less than 10 minutes I was out the door with the smaller size. Love this shop!

I walked into Christian Louboutin excited to purchase my first pair of Louboutins. I was assisted…read moreby a sales associate named Maya. I normally wear a European size 37. During the fitting, Maya had me try sizes 37, 36.5, and ultimately recommended a size 36. I repeatedly told her that I normally wear a size 37 and had never purchased a size 36 shoe in my life. "Are you sure?" I asked. She assured me that the shoes would stretch with wear. As a first-time Christian Louboutin customer, I relied on her professional recommendation and purchased the size she selected. Although the shoes felt acceptable during the brief carpet try-on inside the boutique, the true fit became apparent only during ordinary walking after I left the store. Within about 15 minutes, my toes became numb and painful blisters began to form. I returned and explained that the size Maya recommended was causing numbness and blistering. I requested help because it was immediately apparent that the shoes were not wearable under normal conditions. Instead of reassessing the fit or discussing an exchange into a larger size, Maya informed me that because the shoes had touched outside pavement they could not be exchanged. She then directed me to a specific shoe repair shop across the street to have my brand-new shoes stretched. This is upsetting because customers can't realistically determine whether luxury heels fit properly by walking only a few steps on carpet. The fitting problem became apparent only during ordinary walking, which is how the shoes are intended to be worn. Many customers would have no practical way to evaluate the fit otherwise. Having just been told that an exchange was not possible, I followed the solution the boutique offered and went directly to the repair shop Maya recommended. I left the boutique crying after spending over $1,000 on my first pair of Louboutins and feeling that my concerns had not been meaningfully addressed. After returning home, I researched the 'Hot Chick' style and found that many owners report sizing up by half or even a full size because of its narrow toe box. I wish this had been discussed during my fitting, especially after I repeatedly explained that I had never worn a size 36 before. This experience was deeply disappointing because I trusted the boutique's expertise. I disclosed my normal size, questioned the recommendation to size down, relied on the assurance that the shoes would stretch, returned promptly after discovering the problem, and instead of receiving assistance with the fit, I was directed to alter a brand-new pair of shoes. I hope Christian Louboutin reviews its fitting process at this boutique so that future customers receive the level of guidance, care, and support that should accompany a luxury purchase.
