This was my first taste of Brazil, and I LOVED IT!!! Atmosphere: Ladies Night on Tuesdays all you can drink caipirinhas from 7pm-11pm! so you already know that brings the ladies to the yard and the boys definitely do follow. There's also a hot DJ on Ladies Night that plays samba, house, and top chart music keeping you dancing all night long. We got there at 7pm, everyone starting arriving at around 9pm there seemed to start to be a crowd at the bar and the dining area. At about 10pm, the dance floor was packed and there seemed to be a wait for a table to eat. All seating was outside under a bamboo'd area. Very enclosed so you didn't feel like you were totally dining outside in case of rain or anything like that. Food: I thought the food was good. I got grilled chicken with a side of potatoes. I don't remember what those potatoes were called in some kind oil (tasted almost like chimichurri) but I planned to eat only one and I nearly finished off the whole little bowl. The grilled chicken breast was good, but pretty standard. MUST HAVE? The Escondidinho de Carne. What?! Don't sleep on it. My Brazilian gf ordered it after I already had my food and I tasted hers...It was sssooooo good. A little baked bowl of pulled beef, topped with yuca, then covered in cheese, kinda garlicky...*heaven* I could order this once a week because now I feel like I need it in my life. Service: Awesome, and never lacking. Mostly Brazilians, and everyone was super friendly and great. There was even a photographer that goes around taking photo's that you can purchase like 5 mins later for $5. I thought that was a nice touch rather than most places where you have to go fishing on the internet weeks later to find a photo of yourself you never wanted posted. read more

Caipirinhas, picanha and intoxicated patrons dancing capoeira. These are some of my favorite Brazilian things. I ordered the same thing I had ordered at Botequim last time I went. Picanha and fried yuca. I can safely say that Boteco's version is my favorite. The meat is much more succulent, the fried yuca is plentiful and since I was able to share this meal, the $16 price tag was no biggie. I also prefer Boteco as a less stuffy version of Botequim. It's a real party atmosphere in a casual setting. As mentioned before, there are a couple of Brazilians getting their drink on and even busting out with some capoeira. Definitely a fun place. read more

I was brought to this Brazilian restaurant by friends. It was somewhat early on a Sunday so not much going on. The place feels very typical Latin restaurant back in our countries (take your pick) I'm from Chile and I remember many a restaurants just like this. Wooden picnic tables with benches, plastic table clothes, ect. We sat inside, but it still felt like we're were seated a outside. It was really nice actually. I've never had Brazilian food, and it was pretty much like many other Latin cuisines, same dishes with different names. This is not a bad thing. We tried a couple of appetizers our friends recomended, they were pretty good. As entree we had their specialty Pichana steak. I'm not a steak person, I can't really distinguish the different cuts other than filet minion (fancy palate, lol) so I pretty much have two opinions when it comes to steak, fatty, and not fatty. This was definitely fatty. It was OK, I've had better. We also had some Carpirinhas. Those were exellent. Service was good. Overall an OK place, I'd come back with my friends as we had a great time, but not on my own. read more

Where should I start ? I was recommended to this place by one of my coworkers who mentioned that this place is super fun crowded and strongly recommended to try a caipirihans.......my experience of the infamous drink :overly poured did not taste like anything other than pure liquor. I don't know about you but I like to enjoy my drinks not having to drink them just because. As far as the place last night Saturday around 930pm the place was emptier than empty. All together maybe a dozen people, no live band Food: We had the skewered beef jerk to try it out .When I saw that appetizer it looked like nothing more than a shepherds pot pie. The meat was salty and rubbery no real texture. Now the best part; - the drinks were listed at $7 on the menu (our kind waitress charges us $10 each caipirihans when I brought It up to her, she acted like this was a mistake somebody else made; yet she's the one charging the drinks and the appetizers we ordered) - she did correct the mistake (don't try to rip me off Miami) I was raised here ! - Also get ready to pay 18% gratuity on parties of two (without your consent) it's just added to the bill My overall experience lame read more

Extremely average food that seems to be very average quality. I was not at all impressed by this place. Monday night hardly anyone inside our waitress came over one time. The bartender ended up helping us. I do not know why she was sitting doing absolutely nothing. When the bill came we realized they add gratuity. That is probably why the service sucks ! Food was not that amazing. I got chicken no one was there is wasn't even that hot, my rice was cold. Not many options for sides but carbs, and fried food ! read more

This place has lost all quality and decency. Service is so horrible that even if the food was worth it, it's enough for us not to go back. They include the gratuity but never tell you, i guess hoping you'll double tip. It happened to me the first time at the bar, when I gave $16 of tip to an amount that already had a tip included. The bartender picked it up before we left and closed it right there without saying a word. After that, I still went back because of different circumstances, until I reached the point that I will not put up with bad and disrespectful servers, bad drinks, and mediocre food anymore. Enough. Worse service in the area. I gave it too many chances and it only gets worse. read more

What a great spot!! i realize the reviews are mixed but my hubby and i had a great experience. we felt like we were on vacation in there. i loved my pineapple caipirinha (but yes the fruit does get stuck in the straw) for the food we let our waiter order for us. while one of my best friends is brazilian, i do not know their food. therefore, we let our brazilian waiter tell us what we wanted. we had some fried chicken that was very well seasoned, their chicken croquettas, diff. from any other i had before but sooo goood and the pichaina (sp?) which, yes, was fatty which i usually hate but was very tasty here. i think best bet might be to let the waiters steer you. we tried to order the cesta of empanadas and he just kind of looked as us like, hm...you would like this more.... read more

Great Brazilian food. Try the CESTA DE PASTEIS - CARNE, QUEIJO E CAMARAO appetizer (fried pastries with different stuffings inside) Or the FRANGO A PASSARINHO And make sure you put FAROFA on everything. This place is out of the way. But for true authentic Brazilian food its a great place to check out. I go here often with my wife and her family. http://www.botecomiami.com/index.php read more

Personally I like the place a lot. A bit overpriced but I guess you pay for the ambiance. The food is very tasty and reminiscent of the times I lived in Brazil. Service can be erratic but all in all perfect for a capirinha, small appetizers and to watch beautiful people. The ambiance is very nice as there is always good Brazilian music playing including live bands on the weekends. I'm a fan!! read more

DO NOT COME HERE. HORRIBLE PLACE!!!! Went there with my 2 best friends for Salsa night and it was the worst experience. From the beginning we were treated with little to no respect and ultimately we were forced to leave by the disgusting behavior of the management and the waiter. They had the audacity to say that we needed to change tables because we were there for "too long." Mind you. We were there for 30 minutes and I was still eating my desert when we were asked to move tables because "we were sitting at the waiter's best table" WTF.. DISCRIMINATION AT IT'S FINEST. If you want to be treated horribly and pressured into buying something in order to remain in the establishment when the flyer for the event says "no cover" come to this place. Absolute ripoff and the most HORRIBLE behavior. I WOULD NEVER spend one dime in this place ever again and would NEVER recommend to any of my family or friends. read more

I walked in here not knowing what to expect since I have never had Brazilian food or for that matter Caipirinha's! After weeks of discussing what to do for a friend's birthday we settled on this place and we all left very happy. We decided on a couple of appetizers instead of main meals -- and it was perfect. OK I wish I knew all the Brazilian names but I don't... hope this helps! Spicy -- Bolinho of Chicken? -- it was like a fried little ball with chicken inside -- by far my favorite, delicious. They also had Yucca Fries which was an appetizer -- a huge serving and again very good Shrimp Sauteed with Oil & Garlic - very good... lots of flavor with potatoes. Medium -- Kibe Frito -- so good. Again a lot for an appetizer and they were good. Mild -- Fried Chicken? -- not really sure what this was on the menu but I thought they were okay. They had bones in it, and eh eh.. not a fan. I will say I had a Caipirinha for the first time -- and even though they were a little sweet for my taste they were still good. There is an outdoor area which is where we sat and if its not too hot.. i recommend sitting out there too :) read more

My family has been going to Boteco for years, so needless to say, we're big fans of this place! The vibe is super casual, the food is delish and the drinks are on point. We went this past weekend post Christmas and had a great time. We started with mostly caipirinhas, I got a passion fruit caipiroska, YUM! I don't love caipirinhas (weird, I know), and in the past I would typically order a strawberry caipiroska, but since I love passion fruit I decided to switch it up this time and boy, am I glad! SO TASTY! For food we got cheese and meat pastels (empanadas) and a ton of picanhas! yummm again. The picanhas come with two sides and between the 7 of us we had all the sides: yucca frita, fries, rice and beans and salad. You absolutely cannot go wrong with a picanha, the meat is just perfection. If you're in the area and are craving some authentic Brazilian food, hit up Boteco, def worth it. read more

It was my first time at Boteco, and I can say I will be coming back several times. I ordered a strawberry caipirinha and it was to die for, my fiancé ordered the traditional lime one and it was also really well made. We ordered three appetizers, cod cakes, sirloin appetizer with yuka and the shredded jerked beef with yuka and cheese, the only little negative was the strong taste of butter on the sirloin, the others, to die for!!! Staff was friendly, nice outside seating. Can't wait to come back! read more

Went last thurs for $12 all you can eat skewers. I'll say that again. Went last thurs for $12 all you can eat skewers. Crazy good stuff. Chicken, steak, shrimp, veg, chicken hearts. And, not a low-fi, serve yourself buffet. Waiters come around and offer them to you. It's like, "here's meat on a stick. If you don't want now, i'll be back in 1 min." We sat outside and feasted for hours. Drinks were good too. I think the beers were $4. From what I hear, parking was kinda annoying. We avoided that shiii by street parking. I def want to go back. I feel every passing day that I don't eat skewers, i become less cool. That's just me. I've been told i'm weird. read more

Love this place! Great food, amazing drinks, friendly staff. Highly recommend for a night out or an afternoon of fun.

This place is amazing!!! We will be here every time we're in Miami. The last time, we found ourselves here twice...their happy hour drinks pull you in, but their food and atmosphere are delicious. We had a hard time finding good Brasilian food in Miami, so this was a good find. Their buttery shrimp with garlic is something I could inhale nightly...on certain nights they offer feijoada..but my favorite thing was the people. Other patrons gave us suggestions and struck up conversations..the servers were very friendly and were attentive. The music was live and upbeat, and it is just a fabulous place to unwind. Can't wait to go back...Boteco, we miss you! read more

So my review is on the salsa class. I was here on vacation w/ a girlfriend and wanted to do something different than just partying the night away at another bar. It's a great place to meet new people and get advice from the locals on where to hit up. The class is FREE. What's better than that??? The class is made up of all different levels of dancers. There are some that are regulars and some like me that are newbies. So dont be shy and try it out. read more

I love the atmosphere and the caipirinhas! The house caipirinhas are really good, the coxinha de frango are delicious and the picanha. FYI 2 people can share most of the plates.... Truthfully I think that the main plates are over priced... I have been here over 6 or 7 times different days of the week. My favorite was Saturday Feijoada day. We have also been here on 2 times on a Thursday as we love the live music, but I do not recommend getting the skewers buffet as they barely pass so you end up getting filled with rice and salad many people were getting fustrated as they barely pass with skewers. On a small note some of the bartenders are not the friendliest... but besides that we love the atmosphere, live music, and drinks. read more

Boteco - Picanha, arroz, feijão - Brazilian Near Me - Miami, Florida

My friends and I came here for ladies night because of the advertised free caipiroskas with orders. Unfortunately, we did not know we needed to request the "free drinks". Instead, our caipiroskas were charge to us at an happy hour price. This was somewhat disappointing since our waiter failed to mention this to us until later. The food was about average. I ordered the steak with rice and beans. The beans were saltty, the meat was slightly seasoned. I like the setting, i reminded me of Brazil a little bit. The drinks are pretty strong, so i will most likely return for happy hour ONLY. read more

Don't go!!! Went there around 2:30 for lunch. Waited about 45 minutes for food to come to the table which was mediocre food at best. One waitress working and not very attentive, and trust me I am low maintenance! But still added an 18% tip to the bill. I guess you don't have to have good service or provide good service if you're going to add your own tip on anyway. A tip is an acronym. (to insure proper service). read more

Alright.. not in love with it. I am Brazilian, and as a Brazilian place it didn't really surprised me.. nothing special about the food, nothing special about the drinks, The place itself it's just okay, the music is just ok, the service though was very good but not worthed the "traveling" to MIA.. But you should try.. maybe you'll like it.. read more

this is the perfect place for an after the beach drink without the beach price! 7 dollars for a GOOD caipirinha? sign me up they have some food, (the meat smelled great) and the waiters were attentive parking in the lot next door was 5 dollars but there were parking meters too. read more

Who would I be without the kiwi caipirinha from here ? Top that with an Escondido de Carne and I'm set dude. They have a pretty solid happy hour and since their drinks are stiff, I always leave giddy. This Brazilian joint is known all over Miami for their Picanha which boasts that masculine lumberjack feeling that is associated with steak. Chomp it down with a guarana if you must, just make sure it's cooked Medium. The Escondido de carne is obviously a must order since its a fluffy concoction of catipury cheese, yuca, and either shrimp or steak served super hot and made to order. As far as Parking goes, they do have some meter spots yet also offer valet for like $2.00. I always meter park because my car is tiny. On Tuesday nights, ladies drink free, so ladies ya might as well use the V for a good reason to get inebriated and listen to samba all night. Live music is a plus as it's always nice to eat in the presence of some good tunes. Nothing like carbs, meat, and music. Youzaa- sign me up! read more

Between two and three, I'll round up. Boteca is a casual but full service Brazilian restaurant on the Miami side of the 79th St causeway. It's a fun atmosphere and their patio outside is a good spot to hang out with friends when the weather's nice. Service is typical for Miami - adequate but not very attentive. Where boteca really misses the mark for me is the food. We had the fish croquettes as an appetizer and they were inedible. The prominent flavor was a pungent fishy taste and the texture was super dry. My guess is that they're frozen. I had a bite of my husband's steak and it was juicy and good, but I'm not one to sit down and munch on a whole plate of that. Caparinhias were tasty and strong, made with the usual cachaca found in most bars (leblon). For the price, boteca simply didn't cut it for me. Bottom line: good for drinks and steak lovers but not a good choice for a full meal with a crowd of diverse eaters. read more

You know that feeling you get when you feel you just need to do something with urgency? Yes, no? Well this place gave me the feeling of eloping to Brazil with my boyfriend to enjoy caipirinhas on some exotic beach with beautiful people everywhere... ...and then I snapped back into reality of school and work. Crap. But for an hour and a half we were able to forget our worries and have an absolute amazing time. From the gorgeous Brazilian bartender singing along in Portuguese to the music they're playing to my boyfriend being able to practice his Portuguese, this place delivered. The place scream authentic and every time we go we leave very satisfied. The parking can be quite a mess as they have valet and parking on the street can be inconvenient but I promise you will love it! Advice to the ladies: the caipiroskas de frutas will sneak up on you so babysit those drinks! read more

One of my favorite places in Miami, Boteco in Brazil are local bar, neighborhood bars usually were they sell cheap drinks and good food, and thats the same they do here. Very good food, way better than the traditional chicken wings, mozzarella sticks, burgers and all the traditional bar food in the US, they have empanadas, fried yuca, picanha (steak), they have some of the best caipirinhas in town, they also have this great shots with condensed milk (cant remember the name). They have live music, usually samba, sometimes acoustic (awesome) usually its packed and the crowed has a lot of Brazilian people, so they now the songs and how to dance samba, it is great to watch...or if yo dare to move your hips like them give it a try. My only Cons about this place is that they dont have any Brazilian beer, but still I give them 5 stars!! read more

A casual and delicious place that is best enjoyed with good friends and plenty of drinks! It was a table of 6 of us and we pretty much tried everything on the menu. The appetizers alone are perfect for sharing or making it your meal. The portions are super generous and by ordering two or three, you are good to go. I had the "Mothers Dish" wish was a plate of rice, black beans, chicken steak and a side of salad.. While the rest of the table munched on shrimp empanadas, fried yuca, steak skewers and Coxinha de frango con catupiri, our sweet caipirinhas kept flowing. They were absolutely mouthwatering! The best deal would be to come during their happy hour which happens Mondays, Wednesdays and Friday from 5-7 and all their drinks are half off (caipirinhas for $3, I'm there!) I definitely see myself coming here again very soon and introducing whoever i can to the tasty delights that Boteco offers! read more

3 stars for the food plus an extra star for the friendly service. We went on Saturday during their feijoada buffet. Nice outdoor seating in an enclosed patio and live music. The buffet had white rice, collard greens, and breaded bananas for sides. The main feijoada dishes were one with carne seca, one with ribs, one with sausage, and one with random pig parts. Plus there were pork chops and sausage by themselves. Also had farofa, a spicier sauce, and a a parsley in olive oil sauce - all were really yummy. The food overall was so-so. Good, filling, a lot of it, but I didn't feel like the flavors were outstanding. I thought the best thing was the collard greens. The server was really friendly. Perhaps it was because we were 3 women sitting alone, but the server was very sweet. He explained to me what everything in the buffet was. And at the end, he brought us two rounds of free shots of passion fruit batida and peanut butter batida. My sister says they make a damn good caipirinha, and she often goes there to have drinks. Overall, totally recommended for hearty meat eaters and people who want to drink. read more

Not crazy about Brazilian fare but I live down the street and decided to give it a try. Of course I ordered a caipirinha, which was very nice and refreshing. We ordered the Escondidinho de Camarao (sauteed shrimp with garlic and black pepper with yucca and catupiry cheese) to start but it actually came last. Whatever, it happens. He had the Frango (chicken breast, black beans and rice) and I had the Strogonoff with picanha. Everything was very tasty. My fave was the Escondidinho for sure. Total language barrier but it's all good. ESCONDIDINHO BRO -TPK read more

This place was a surprise. We've had Boteco recommended twice by friends, and finally decided to break down and try it. I'm glad we did. Sitting out back on the terrace we enjoyed a few too many caiparinhas, live music and sizzling grill pans of picanha. (TIP: If you like your meat medium rare order it rare as it will keep cooking on the pan at the table for you.) Plastic cups for my cocktails aren't a personal favorite, but it all made sense...giving the air of hanging in a friend's backyard. Valet parking is available on the side for $5. read more

I'm a fan of Boteco, a Brazilian restaurant, one of the few in Miami. In repping the home country, of course Caipirinhas are served. Why am I a fan of Boteco? Because of its great happy hour! Caipirinhas are priced just right and come filled with cachaca. Having had quite a few when visiting Brazil, I feel the bartenders could use a bit more sugar - but I understand how tastes sometimes must be adjusted for the unfamiliar. I enjoy sharing apps at happy hour as well: skewers (shrimp has been my favorite so far), the fries (fried crisp and not greasy - almost a bucket, plenty to share), fried chicken (unbreaded chunks of meat, fried nice and crunchy). What I like about Boteco is that it's a nice chill environment to hang out with friends over drinks and snacks. In addition to one of my favorite happy hours around, there is always something going on at Boteco. Events range from free (very fun) Samba classes to World Cup watch parties (it seems like all the Brazilians in Miami come here decked out in their green and gold to watch and celebrate). The website is constantly updated with a full calendar of what is going on and when. There's a huge amount of seating from a few tables inside the main dining room where the small bar is, to covered patios on both sides of the building and in the back. It's a huge complex that appears to be just a hole in the wall from the street. If not for all the cars lining the street, a passerby would have no idea of what's going on inside. The staff is fine - no complaints there. During happy hour, they may be moving a little slow but they're just warming up for the crowd to come at dinner service. Parking is good here too, with a small valet lot but plenty of on-street parking. Would I set out for a meal here? No. Haven't enjoyed any of the entrees I've tried. In general, the meats are too salty for me without much other seasoning and the sides are bland, although the white rice is done just right. Not saying that the food is terrible, but I am saying that it's not for me. What *is* for me is Boteco's happy hour. I'm a huge fan and encourage anyone to go check it - and Boteco - out. read more

If your craving some Brazilian flavor, then head out to Boteco for a caipirinha or two. Happy hour runs until 8pm..and those caipirinhas are strong! so beware... The food is good, I tried the pastel de queijo and pastel de camaron...both were medium size, so 2 were enough for me. We went on a friday and sat outside...a dj was playing good brazilian tunes and they even had a brazilian dancer...quite nice to see. The service is on point and friendly, I was mistakenly told happy hour runned until 9pm so the waiter was nice enough to change our drink prices :) read more

I went to Boteco to watch the Brazil World Cup game against Mexico I have to say being Brazilian this restaurant is just plain terrible . The worst service and food! The Hostess told me and my boyfriend to sit in a table by the entrance of the place. . The waiter Flavio took our order and basically forgot about us. He brought orders to all the tables around us When we asked him about it he kept saying it was coming out on the way on the way and that kitchen was too busy. Well the game ended we did not get our food and we were told by Flavio that we were being charged 50 dollars minimum consumption because of the game . I argued with him that he did not even bring the food we ordered he went on to bully us saying that we had to pay $50 to sit on a chair there and that if I am complaining he will present me with a bill for $100 since it was me and my boyfriend sitting . These people are dishonest and bullies . I did not pay and made a big deal and the supervisor manager told me and my boyfriend that he would make an exception ???? DO NOT GO TO BOTECO!! It's dirty ( full of flies!!!!) the food is terrible and u will be treated terrible !! THE WORST !!!! read more

This is a cute little restaurant right off of 79th where you can find delicious Brazilian food, great empanadas, and the best caipirinhas in town! The overall ambience of Boteco is wonderful! So a few days ago, a friend quoted a known fact that people will not return to a restaurant if they receive bad service...case in point Boteca. First I disagree with any restaurant that has to add an automatic tip to your bill... Then we order and receive our food after all of the tables that arrive after us. To even attempt to get the servers attention became funny at the table. I had the chicken breast with fries and my friend had the steak. Both meals were ok, nothing spectacular just "meh." In all, I wouldn't return, or recommend this place....service sucks and places that have bad service suck! read more

This place is AMAZING. No idea why it isn't rated at least 4.5 stars. I must say that the food is DELICIOUS. The Yuca and jerk beef was amazing, the fried chicken chunks with parsley and garlic were full of flavor. The waitress was great and on top of her stuff, being that the place was packed and she was one of two waitresses on the floor our drinks were never empty and the food came out extremely quick. There is a live band there playing music in portuguese. the caipirinhas were PHENOMENAL. You have the option to get it with seasonal fruits- passion fruit was my favorite. great price on them as well at $8 a glass. they even have an option to get it with sake which was great also. definitely an authentic Brazilian spot that is 110% worth the drive if you're not from the area. read more

This has been the worst experience in this restaurant. It started good but when it was time to get out food it literally took an hour and still didn't get our food. Absolute best Brazilian spot in Miami. I was introduced to the bar by my Brazilian friend on a Tuesday, LADIES NIGHT. I've been back on several occasions on different days but to me there's nothing like Tuesday nights. FREE Caipirinhas! WARNING: these little drinks are STRONG! I don't think I've ever been as drunk as I have on one of these nights at Boteca. I'm pretty sure I proposed to my boyfriend that same night I got home. I've never had a miss with the food. Everything I've tried has been delicious. What I enjoy about this bar is its casualness and its great energy. There's a small dance floor inside the bar which is an absolute great time. read more
