Went back again for the Classic Brunch! Soooooo good! One order is more then enough for two. Waffles , eggs, sausage, bacon, a side I get ratatouille since it is so delicious and choice of bread. I read your response to my Yelp Review and while I like that you advocate for your employees, you clearly do not want to take accountability for your staff's inactions. Needless to say, we will not come back to your restaurant moreso because of your attitude. 1) The hostess did not look up my reservation. There were 2 reserved tables in the front of the restaurant and 1 of them was a booth. She clearly did not do her job when I told her I made reservations yet, you do not apologize for that. 2) Your staff only asked us once how things were. They never came back to give us water or a check until I flagged down a server. 3) Your cook failed to make my to go steak the correct temperature but you fail to acknowledge/apologize for this. 4) I think I already mentioned that my husband did not bother to let the server know about his burnt vegetables so yes, I acknowledge that we should have brought it to their attention. I really liked my experience here - it's in a great spot on Sunset Blvd., they had very good food and a fun ambiance. I hadn't been to Bossa Nova in many years and, upon arrival, it felt like coming home. We were warmly greeted immediately seated in a lively, yet easygoing environment. I ordered their Traditional Chicken from their "grill" selection of food and it was great - tender, flavorful, and juicy chicken. I appreciate that they give you flexibility by having the customer choose the side dishes, which are included with the plate - the grilled vegetables, fried plantains, and power grains were perfect! First ordered drinks (classic Carpirinha) and then our food. Not long after, we got a table. Overall, good service, good atmosphere and decent food which I would not necessarily label as typical Brazilian! Shockingly rude behavior from "Mateus" the manager. I called to complain that the DoorDash drivers once again (for the fourth time!) made delivery errors and didn't know how to work a condo building entry intercom. He said rudely to call DoorDash and I said after repeated problems they as the contractor for DoorDash should ensure they train their drivers better. I barely got this said when he hung up on me! I have spent THOUSANDS of dollars at this restaurant, at this location, and at the old one, and the other one on Sunset, and deliveries. NO MORE. My family and I love coming to Bossa Nova. We drive almost weekly from Granada Hills to the West Hollywood location, specifically for the amazing service and food. Genuinely I used to love this place, but there was a 2in needle found in my food after they catered to our office. I nearly swallowed it, but i ripped it out of my throat mid conversation with my coworker. My general manager contacted the establishment and they first accepted blame but then doubled back to say they we had no proof. The proof was this meat needle that was in my throat! It was such a horrible and confusing experience and I wanted to let people know this could happen to them. Careful with the Salmon bowls. Edit: My evidence was the scratch down my throat and an ER visit. I think a $700 refund was absolutely fair, especially when your manager said it was their fault. The employee that was friends with the drunk, who is harassing me, did not seem to be dressed as a sous chef. He looked like he was wearing a dish dishwashing apron. Need to go cashier was informed several times and just stood there looking equally uncomfortable. The what I would assume dishwasher came out and spoke to him after I put in several complaints. There was no penalty or comments on it. He just was talking about how they just had drinks and laughed it off. It disappoints me to see that you care about the reviews regarding the plain Taste of your food being reported, over actual safety and harassment problems at your location. I also tried the chicken Madeira, which came with perfectly cooked asparagus The chicken itself was tasty with rich gravy, but since chicken Madeira is one of my favorite dishes, I hold it to very high standards. Unsure why this place has such low rating but every time I go there the service is great and they always accomodate our big party (they do not do split checks though) and my go-to order is their carbonara. I've also tried their version of a Sheppard's pie and it was delicious as well. Omg this place was so amazing after a lingerie party I attended at the Sunset Room on Saturday night. My two friends who were driving drove me there and always go and I am sooo happy they took me. They have such an amazing menu and it's so nice they're always open. We were there around 3am after the party and every table was full and there was a line outside. However, they seated us promptly. Since when is it customary to automatically add an 18% gratuity for a party of two? My guest and I ordered two meals and several drinks. In fact, our drinks cost more than the food itself. I didn't initially notice that an 18% gratuity had already been added to the bill. It wasn't until after I paid that I realized it had been included. To make matters worse, the POS system prompted me for an additional tip during checkout. This felt extremely misleading. The automatic gratuity was not obvious, and the additional tip prompt created a situation where customers could easily end up tipping twice. Given how late it was, I can't help but feel that the staff knew exactly what they were doing and were counting on customers not noticing the gratuity had already been added. Transparency is important when it comes to billing. Automatically adding an 18% gratuity for a party of two and then prompting for an additional tip left a very negative impression. Customers should be clearly informed of any service charges before payment, not discover them afterward. read more
