We REALLY enjoyed our meal at Bosporus! The owner is soooo friendly and helpful, and the food was fantastic! The restaurant itself is not very large, and we dined in, but we saw a LOT of takeout orders come through while we were there, so a lot of people must love it. We ordered the Sultan Platter and got to try a little bit of everything. I was really impressed with meatballs, the gyro meat, and the chicken. We also loved the eggplant appetizer we ordered. The portions were large and the prices were incredibly reasonable. I also loved the homey, welcoming, mom and pop vibe of the place... they were trying too hard to be trendy, just authentically doing what they love! I'm looking forward to heading back to try out everything else!! read more

Bosphorus - 28. Sultan Platter - Turkish Near Me - Englewood, Colorado

This is my favorite place to eat in Colorado. The staff is kind and the food is amazing!

This is my second visit. Last time, I ordered Bosphorus Platter, Sultan Platter for 2 and Baklava, along with Turkish coffee and Turkish Black tea for lunch; Yes it was too much for couple. I felt full until the night. This time we ordered Hummus Platter, Sultan Platter for 2, and orange tea. The meat was neither salty nor dry, nor greasy. Juicy, tasty and adequately seasoned. All vegetables were super fresh. My favorite hummus, the best one I've ever tried. All beverages I tried were decent. The owner couple were very friendly. Small place but the decor was simple and clean. The music was not too loud and made good exotic vibe. Reasonable Price. I do think I'll come again. read more

Even during quarantine, we love exploring new restaurants. Our discovery of Bosphorus is going to be one of the best things to come out of this trying time - I'll be counting the days until we can enjoy a fresh meal here. The portions delivered were huge and it's easy to eat beyond your fill when it's so good. We had fried eggplant and stuffed grapeleaves for appetizer and they were both so flavorful. The sultan platter for 2 was gigantic and the gyro meat was absolutely delicious. We couldn't wait to eat leftovers the next day. read more

The food was tasty. Atmosphere is very monotone and drab. This place could really use some warmth.

I had falafel and salad which they were great but not that Iskender Kebab awful tomato sauce taste old soaked on pita bread very bad quality and shelf life read more

Small mom and pop shop. A welcome site for this area of good Turkish food. Humus plate was well presented, the gyro was just ok and the sultan plate, albeit a huge portion and well served simply was under spiced (the best part of Turkish cuisine). The owner was super friendly and nice and the food was good just not wow. The baklava was dry and left no impression as good or bad. Will give it a try again as they do work hard at pleasing the customers. read more

This is definitely a new favorite. Loved the family vibe, great service, food was amazing. The guys were so welcoming and even brought us some delicious chicken thighs to try to show us what the weekend special is like. read more

This is a great hole-in-the-wall Turkish restaurant with a super friendly staff and some of the tastiest Turkish cuisine we've ever had. There are lots of vegetarian options, but this time I went for a platter with 3 different meats. My wife had a Döner salad. All were excellent. The home made tzatziki sauce (yes I know it has a different name in Turkish) is a standout. The only downside of Bosphorus is that they have only 4 tables, two 2-tops and two 4-tops. At the time we went that wasn't a problem, but you might want to call ahead to see if dine-in is likely to be available. read more

While Denver isn't great for Middle Eastern food, you can find good restaurants serving cuisine from the region. This is not one of them.

Some of the best prices and food in Denver! They even brought us their special to sample. Took many leftovers home. Seating area is small - I'd recommend trying to arrive for an early dinner. read more

The food and the service was OK. The place was busy, so I understand, but it shouldn't take 45 minutes to get the food. It was a mid experience. read more

My boyfriend and I traveled to Turkey last year and absolutely loved the food, the people and culture. So for my birthday, he surprised me by taking me to Bosphorus. We wanted to order everything on the menu and ultimately decided on the Sultan Platter (chicken and beef-lamb gyro, chicken and beef kebab, 2 meatball kebabs topped with grilled green peppers, onions and tomatoes. Served with romaine lettuce, tomatoes, onions, pita bread and choice of fries, rice or salad). The food was incredible!! The portions are huge and the price is affordable. It made us feel like we were in turkey with all the delicious spices and the amazing service. We've recommended Bosphorus to everyone we've run into since going, they're just that good! We've even gone back already and plan to go at least a few times a month. read more

It was the first time we went there. We were for sure hesitant to try a new restaurant but it turned out so delicious. Portions were big for two of us. Very clean restaurant. Bosphorus - my gyros with salad to go - Turkish Near Me - Englewood, Colorado

This little place had such great reviews, even a Best of the City, but we really did not like it at all. I wonder if they just don't do vegetarian well? Our server was pleasant and fairly attentive. The space was very small and crowded - which we would have overlooked if the food had been worth it - but we were seated near the door (there are only about five tables and two are right at the door) on a cold, rainy night so it was quite unpleasant every time someone came in, freezing us and then standing practically on our table while they waited. The food: we ordered the falafel plate and the stuffed grape leaves plate. These are flavors that NEVER disappoint us any where we go. However, this was horrible! Everything was extremely over spiced and the cardamom, and something else I can't quite place, was overwhelming. I have never, ever disliked falafel or stuffed grape leaves .. we had to choke these down. The pita was grocery-store blah. It was SO disappointing. The servings were large and we only ate about a quarter of each plate and left. While we took size-able doggy bags home, we tossed them. If you knew us, you'd know how averse to wasting food and money we are, so tossing out food is significant. We will not return. read more

Intimate and delicious. Have been enjoying the food here since they opened. Keep an eye out for the specials for a real treat.

I would have attached a photo but I seem to finish my plate before I can whip out my phone! FIVE STARS EARNED for two reasons: the FOOD IS EXCEPTIONALLY EXCELLENT and is a very reasonable price. 2. Service is friendly, warm, like-family. I am so impressed by the simplicity of the dining & take out experience. The food is high quality & authentic. The space inside is very small and I would imagine may expand due to the volume of guests at some point but for now it is like going to your neighbors house for dinner. Its tucked to the West side of Downing neighboring Cochino Taco. So glad this spot is bringing authentic passionate cuisine to Englewood! read more

Bosphorus is small with a welcoming chef and staff. It's a favorite lunch spot and the portions are always generous. The food is cooked to perfection and be sure to ask for the hot sauce, it's great! Even staples like rice and french fries are special. My recommendation is to try the Sultan Platter. It has a great variety of meats and the rice is amazing. I've taken friends, family and even contractors here. It's definitely worth the trip. I'm happy that covid restrictions have eased so we can dine in again. read more

Bosphorus - The owner makes Bosphorus feel like home! (Can you tell I love the hot sauce?) lol - Turkish Near Me - Englewood, Colorado

There are only four tables, so you may need to wait. But it's worth the wait. The owner is friendly and welcoming and is happy to tell you that he is cooking his family's recipes. Our group got a large shareable platter with some of everything. Seriously, I think we tried everything on the menu! Fresh bread, stuffed grape leaves, chicken, beef, lamb, and rice. We enjoyed it all and brought a lot home--the dinner for four could probably have satisfied six people. If I'm in the area--and with a friend just around the block, I will be--this will be on my short list of dining options. read more

I've never left a review 2 separate times for the same place, but I can't emphasize how good the service is, with even better food! Thank you! read more

Falafel is dry and bland. Eggplant app is bland and mushy. Grape leaves are mushy and bland. Everything we had was just blah.

I was really in the mood for a Greek salad and yelp lead me here. I was greeted warmly by the gentleman who was doing everything...taking orders, making orders, ringing people up, answering the phone. I was tired watching him. My salad was good and fresh (I watched him make it). I got the salad with gyro meat on top. He was very heavy handed with the meat, not so heavy handed with the feta and olives. I had 1 olive and a pinch of feta with half a pound of gyro meat. There are a few parking spots out front as well as street parking. read more

Thanks so much to Melih and his son Memet for providing our family not just good food but great family atmosphere. We arrived in a swarm of nearly a dozen yet we were greeted with smiles and enthusiasm. Our family quickly felt like an extension of theirs. As military children we were assaulted with memories, not only from the food but the decor. They opened their doors in 2018 and I can well imagine a need for them to expand their walls. This is based on the families we watched come and go through their doors. I'm glad my siblings invited me to join them and worth the flight up from Houston. Don't wait... Come get your yummies. First time visit and super happy we found this place! The staff was extraordinarily friendly and made some great recs that we dug in to with gusto! Lace was empty when we walked in at 7:30 and we were a bit apprehensive but it was unnecessary! The owner seemed happy to get a little slow day as well but by 8 4 other tables were occupied. We got the spinach pastry, iskendar and the gyro plate and finished off with a nice strong and smooth Turkish coffee. Will be back very soon! This area has really good spots with cochina taco, aungs and an Italian place as well! read more

5 stars for customer service for sure. Employees were super super friendly. I even left something inside and he walked outside to give it to me in my car after I left- he was in a sleeveless shirt and came out in the frigid cold while it was snowing. I really appreciated that! This is a hole in the wall restaurant with two employees running it. There's a tiny parking lot in front of it that is shared with another store (I think it fits 4 cars) and then a small shared parking lot next to it (shared with a Mexican restaurant). Lentil soup- this was alright! I'm not a big fan of lentils (my friend is the fan) Fried eggplant- this one was okay Chicken drumsticks- they gave this to us on the house which was super nice of them! It was definitely flavorful! Hummus- the hummus was pretty good! Grape leaves- yum yum yum I really liked these! Very tasty. Drumroll please... the beef lamb gyro sandwich and fries is where it's at! The gyro sandwich was very tasty. The fries were seasoned so well and tasted amazing with the tzaziki sauce! Would definitely come back for this and the customer service! read more

Best Turkish food I've eaten in Colorado. The atmosphere was also great. A lot of cultural references.

Thank Goddess I'm lucky enough to live a block away from Bosphorus because I love gyros and stuffed grape leaves more than I probably should. I'm not sure what to add to everyone else's reviews because this many people can't be wrong, right? I can tell you what I love: any of their hot teas (expensive but worth it), lemonade, stuffed grape leaves, those spiced fries are to die for, the gyro plate or gyro sandwich are flavorful and satisfying, any of the appetizer plates and salads are delicious and did I mention the stuffed grape leaves? I've only ever been gifted baklava here on a few visits (I'm trying to avoid sweets in general) but each time it's been the super sticky sweet delicious bakery-ness that you would expect. The chef owner is genuine when you can grab him a moment for some engaging conversation. My only complaint: wish they had recycled/recyclable take out boxes but that's my wish for most places that have takeout. Love this place, you should visit. read more

Everyone has heard that could you tell when the food it cooked with love. This is the case here where you immediately know you are having something special and that the place isn't open to just make money. In fact, after our meal the owner sat with us for quite a while just chatting. I love it! We started with the bosphorus platter - I love grape leaves - but in general it was really good. My wife had a gyro and I had the Iskender Kebab. Honestly, I had no idea what I was getting but it was super good. Everything really was. The funny thing is I don't really like French fries but there are some I grew up with that I loved (I grew up around a lot of Greeks) and these fries are the best I've had in years! It really brought me back to childhood and that was super fun! The place itself was tiny. He was explaining that he meant to be like being in someone's living room and initially didn't even have this many seats but I'm glad he does because he really enjoying being there and loved his hospitality! read more

Small place with big flavor and personality. I love Middle Eastern food generally, but often many restaurants in Denver miss the mark when it comes to spicing their dishes as many are very bland. Not at Bosphorus! The Turkish spices make their way onto the food here -- not overpowering but just enough to enhance the fresh, perfectly grilled meat. The owner is welcoming and takes pride in his food; even the rice is perfectly cooked and flavored. You can't go wrong with the sultan plate here and don't forget the lentil soup. read more

We got some delicious takeout from Bosphorus for my birthday two days ago. Dolmas, hummus and pita, eggplant, falafel, and fries. The prices are extremely reasonable. Wanted to try Turkish food. Service was incredible, the host was super welcoming! He gave us a special drumstick preparation for that night on the house, which was one of the most juiciest chicken ever had. Flavor of the kabobs was not so great in comparison to Mediterranean food we have had. It was little bland for us. He gave us tremendous quantity of fries and rice on the side. For us, food could be more flavorful. Fries were delicious and really fresh salad. Overall, a good experience with huge portions of food! read more
