Recently, we went to this Boscov's to look around and to check out the store. Very similar to the one in Providence, with a large clothing department for men's, women's and kids. Their home and accessory department was also very well stocked and they have a fairly large selection of toys and fun gadget things to buy for the Holidays. The store was not too busy when we were there on a weekday morning. The associates very busy organizing stuff on the shelves and they seemed very friendly. read more

Boscov's is a wonderful department store. They have deep pocket bed sheets for affordable prices. You can't beat that. They also have toys and As Seen On TV merchandise, which is a bonus. I think now they have expanded this far into New England, they should try for stores in Massachusetts and Vermont and possibly New Hampshire. read more

My husband and I decided to take a ride out and check Boscov's out since it is only a couple towns away and we received a deluge of ads. When we walked in, we thought we had found our go to store! Since, my husband needed lounge pants at the sale price of $3.99 a pair how could we go wrong, and the quality wasn't bad. When we got home our receipt showed $7.99 a pair! So today, I took a ride back to get the correct price and after looking for someone to help me(they have many sales counters, but not many cashiers)I was told "oh those are not the ones on sale" They were the same make, same regular price, and plaid as advertised. I feel like I got the ole bait and switch! The cashier was very uninterested in my unhappiness. All, the pants were together marked at the same cost, did not say anywhere "some exclusion apply". Now for the second part, my husband wanted to Henley's and they were clearly marked $7.99, and when I checked out the same uninterested cashier said $21.25. In my haste and dissatisfaction, I didn't check the receipt. On my way home I said wait a minute, how could $7.99 twice plus tax be $21.25, that's a mighty big tax. I actually pulled over and was charged $9.99 per shirt! Fooled again! My advice to anyone who chooses to go there, watch your ad, your ticketed price, your cashier and your flyer, as it won't tell you if there are exclusions! We won't ever be going back, except for maybe this weekend to return everything we bought! Buyer, please beware! Very aware! UPDATE UPDATE! I got an e-mail from someone named Amy K asking for me to email her my name, phone number and email address so they could discuss this with me further EXCEPT she didn't give me an email address to send it to. She told me to reference yelp! The only email address I could find was the general mailbox so I sent all the info that I was told to there, been two days and NOTHING, should I really be surprised! I went to Boscov's about two weeks ago. I purchased some female items and because they could not have any contact, the sales associate and myself worked it out. I was able to walk out of the store very happy because I purchased what I needed. They were both very professional female associates. I am ready to go back and get more items before the sales end. Im so glad my Friend told me about Boscov's .. I have only went to one of their stores once in New Jersey . But I have been doing a lot of online ordering . I HAVE NO COMPLAINTS .. love everything I purchased so far. I have done some returns NO ISSUSES .. my only down fall about this store is the closest one to me is 2 hours away :( ....... Went to Boscovs on a rainy mid-week day to buy a pair of shoes. Omg - there was NO way I was going to go home with a pair of shoes. There were at least 6 people waiting for help and not a sales person in sight. I walked away and came back some time later and it seemed like the same people were waiting for help. Ridiculous!! I just walked out. They are not going to last long with that kind of service. Also, the place is disgustingly dirty. I have never seen a department store so incredibly messy and dirty. The carpets were full of stuff and the floor looked like it had some bodily fluid dripped everywhere - YUCK!! Get your act together Boscov's!! read more

This is my go to store for Womens clothing. They have a selection the rivals the best plus size specialty store. It has every thing you need in a neat and easy to shop atmosphere. The department manager and her staff are "fun" and attentive. I always leave with more than I intended to. They also have nice selections of Womens dresses, coats and sleepwear. Prices are fantastic. Hi guys, I go to Boscov's at least every other Friday night & always wind up closing the store down lol.. I'm always the last one checking out.. I can agree on two things that I have read on here, and that is the help.. That there is definitely not enough of.. Many places to check out but with no one there to ring you out.. Secondly yes, you have to be very careful of the signs saying what is on sale because that is always another problem..,You take it up to the register checking out & the cashier tells you no this is not the one that's on sale, so now I learned my lesson & I make sure that I always use the price checkers that they have around the store so I know whether it's right or not..I would say the staff is 50-50.. Some are wonderfully helpful & pleasant but the others do need a little more training as far as Customer Service goes.. The problem is not on the second level except for the curtain dept. every other area is fine..Downstairs associates are the main ones that need a little more training .. I have been in retail management for many many years & honestly I would not have hired 50% of the staff on the first floor, & the holiday season has just begun .. I will give a shout out to your furniture Dept. though, excellent Customer Service.. I still love my Boscov's in Meriden & will continue to shop there .. I have never seen that store in any disarray or unclean.. Those floors are pretty clean & shiny to me...A dedicated Boscov's Shopper !! read more
