From the moment I sat down, she was pleasant and listened carefully to what I wanted. She asked thoughtful questions to make sure she completely understood what I had in mind. Her eye for color and highlights is exceptional. She took the time to really look at my skin tone and natural hair color, and then chose the perfect blend of color and highlights to complement my complexion. You can tell she takes pride in her work and has a genuine artistic sense when it comes to selecting the right tones. She also surprised me and added a glaze conditioner during the rinse, which noticeably made my hair soft and silky for weeks afterward! Additionally, I was so impressed watching her work during the cut. She is painstakingly meticulous, checking to make sure that the shape was symmetrical and balanced from every direction. She even made adjustments after the hair was dry!! I'm so grateful to have found someone who combines technical skill with genuine care for her clients and is FUN!     Hawley Lane Shoes is a horrible racist establishment. I visited the Shelton location. Which is near…read moremy home in Shelton. Upon entering this store there were no other customers in the store and approximately 5-6 employees stand around chatting. Not one of them greeted me or asked if they could help. Indeed I walked around the store looking at various sneakers for about 5mins. While their conversation continued as if I was invisible. Once I realized no one was going to assist me or even acknowledge my presence, I politely left. Thinking perhaps it was that particular store. Yesterday I went to the Danbury location as I was in that area at the mall. Upon entering three salespeople were standing around, again with no other customers in the store. One barely acknowledged me and walked away. One disappeared into the back, the other stood and watched as I looked at sneakers but never said a word. Another customer came in and was greater and asked how they could be helped. Still no one asked me if I needed help. A third customer entered & was again greater and the employee who was in the back appeared and immediately ran over to them with greetings and offering to help. AT that moment, the salesperson who had been watching me decided to ask me if I needed help. At that point I was so disgusted, I said NOW you wanna help me and proceed to leave. I am a black woman and every other customer who entered after me was white. I believe the actions of employees in both stores were racially motivated. There is absolutely no other explanation for being ignored. I will NEVER go into this establishments and recommend people of color stay away from them as there seems to be a culture of racism no matter the location. To me this is ignorance at its finest. My money is the same color as everyone else's. If you are so racist that you would be rude to a potential customer, I would not give them one penny. I recommend every black person STAY OUT OF HAWLEY LANE SHOES! #boycott #undercovertarget #keepourdollarsout #racistestablishment

    I had always been a CVS fan until my new insurance carrier limited my prescriptions to Walgreens…read more To my surprise, I am experiencing a far better customer service at the Walgreens located in Shelton than the service that I had been receiving at the CVS located in Stratford. For your information, my doctor inadvertently sent my prescription to CVS. I subsequently went to the CVS MyChart portal and transferred my prescription to Walgreens. Within two days, I went to Walgreens to pick up my prescription. Walgreens stated that they had not received the transfer; therefore, they immediately faxed the request to CVS in my presence. CVS failed to respond that day. I attempted to call CVS but was unable to speak to a live person. I drove to CVS the following day, and was told by a CVS pharmacy representative that I should have CVS fill the prescription instead. I said that was not feasible, because my insurance will not allow it. She then said, "Perhaps you will need to call your doctor to send it to Walgreens". This, too, was not feasible because it was on a Sunday, and I needed my medications now. CVS assured me that they would fax my prescription to Walgreens, but failed to do so promptly. However, Val at Walgreens took the initiative to personally follow up with CVS until the prescription was received, and then she called me to pick it up when the prescription was ready. Since then, I have been visiting Walgreens more frequently. I continue to receive excellent customer service from the store in all. I have become a Walgreens Believer!

The cashier when I walked in told me exactly which aisle to go to; there was a young man working at pharmacy counter, I asked him a couple of questions and he was happy to help even though busy day. The two cashiers at the front were nice, moved the line quickly. Store was very clean.

It was a big, huge deal for my 10 year old son, as he had been waiting for this day for a bit. He insisted to get them done this specific day. Drove from Branford to Shelton just for to get the bracelets done. While there the experience was pleasant and the young lady who did them for us was very nice. Each bracelet was 65.00 plus tax. Fast foward to Tuesday morning the following week - Tuesday, June 24th. On my way out the door to go to work my son calls me to have the bracelets "kiss" - a little game the two of us started as soon as we got the bracelets. My bracelet was nowhere to be found. long story short - i looked for it everywhere and did not find it. I reached out to the store by phone and i was basically dismissed and when i asked for some kind of policy on replacing it or any thing to fix the problem - I was told NO. I mentioned to the person on the other end that this was $70 that i wanted in less than a week and was told - " yeah, i understand but we cant do anything unless you find the bracelet" Explained to them that if it was done right it wouldn't have gotten caught in anything and i wouldn't have lost it. Following day i received a text message from somebody at the company asking me in regards to how my experience was. I explained to her what had happened and was told that my problem was going to be shared with the team and i would "hear from someone during the next business day to discuss this further". Surprise, surprise ....no one called and a week later i reached out to them once again. as of right now - July 2nd, 2025 all i got is that they are very sorry for not being able to give me a specific timeframe during which i should receive a resolution to my issue as they don't have direct access to updates, but sure my request was marked urgent with "my" team ( i was told the same thing a week ago, so obviously "urgent" doesn't really mean anything). Also, that i will be informed as soon as the person who texted me hears anything. I am deeply disappointed by the lack of urgency and responsiveness from this store when it came to handling this matter.
