I visited this consignment store yesterday for the first time, since my regular consignment store…read morein Monroe, CT closed last fall. I am so glad that I finally took the time to visit. Both the owner, Michelle, as well as Jill, could not have been more welcoming, helpful, and informative to both my daughter and I. They explained their system, which was almost identical to that of my former consignment shop. There was no odor of any kind in the store, that sometimes happens, and my daughter even purchased a summer dress. I returned today with items of my own to consign, and the process went effortlessly.

Sweater unused still in its original packaging---------It took her less than one afternoon to REJECT the entire order. Entire. I went thru those clothes. Yet I was told some "damaged" ----no labels? I would NOT bring damaged clothes that would never sell. The sneakers were untie ones you just slip into them-------That? Is considered out of style? Sketchers sells them today!!!! She could have sold them for $5 and a woman would have taken them. I bought them from a reasonable company. A Consignment Shop is a place you go for cheaper clothing NOT for style. I feel like as if those clothes and shoes were taken from me to just be discarded to "donate" elsewhere. Like they were "junk". I was in shock and very disappointed. I should have taken them all back and tried elsewhere but the work in lugging all those bags back home wasn't worth it for me. I will never bring clothes there again. I think I was jilted. Clothes sold there aren't suppose to be perfect in style------and its the judgement of the customer NOT the seller who decides. Unfortunately not here. Learned my lesson.

He said the more we come, the better we'll get and I'm excited for it. It's an amazing craft. We felt the price was competitive but reasonable. They were so kind and patient with us. We felt like bulls in a china shop. But he talked with us all the way through it all. If you have the time, it's worth a try.

There aren't enough superlatives to describe Kinship Glassworks and the gentlemen who work there!…read moreI recently participated in a "Friday with Friends" event at Kinship. The event consisted of a tour of the facility and an explanation of the glass working process, followed by a meal with wine and beer provided by neighboring restaurant 3 Thirty Three. After the refreshments the group of about 30 participants was encouraged to select a glass object in on display and then create their own version of the object with the expert help of the Kinship Glassworkers. The glass objects were various styles of drinking glasses, paper weights, and even a glass flower. You choose the colors and then help the artisans to execute the design. The even takes about 3-4 hours depending on the number of participants. $130 covers the cost of the food, drinks, and the glass object.
