Warning: I'm not a fan of buffets. I tend to do overdo it so I avoid them like the plague. My travel companion, however, loves them. So, in the name of flexibility I agreed to go to the Borgata buffet for lunch. Many on here have said that the prices are not worth it for vegetarians. Their lunch buffet is $24.99 and they did have salmon. They had a solid flank steak, which made it OK, as was their mozzarella salad. Their sautéed green beans and candied carrots were also decent. The desserts, were subpar, which I guess was for the best given my tendency to overdo it. The ice cream was more ice than cream and their mashed potatoes seemed watered down. If you are 6'5 and 300 pounds, I guess the Borgata buffet is for you. If not, I would go to the sizable selection of non-buffet options in the Borgata and on the boardwalk. If food portions matter most to you, this is the place, otherwise, there are other options that are better. read more

This used to be my mother's favorite place to eat. We brought her here for her 80th birthday and what a disappointment! There was almost no one in there at 6:30 on a Thursday. I got there about 4pm. No line and only a handful of customers already there. By the time I finished at 5pm, the place was about half full. The people taking drink orders were quick and courteous. A lot of workers behind the counter to keep the food full. I don't think it was worth $40, but it was good. I would have liked to see a lit more seafood., but they had decent options. Ok, so as a foodie, this was not the best buffet I have been to. the only thing that stood out was the prime rib it was great, and the rest of the food was on par for basic things on a buffet. but I did get immediately turned off when the man serving food, started to dig in his ear, and was not wearing or even put on gloves. at that point I left. Um, not everyone paying $42 for this joke of a buffet?! Still searching for the good food that everyone speaks of in these reviews. This buffet is awful! A cruise buffet is 10x more impressive than the atrocity I witnessed yesterday. Zero selection and the only "luxury" seafood they offered were steamed clams and mussels (they weren't even good). I'm sure something I ate was spoiled because I was nauseous all night after eating here. And the place looked abandoned. The lights were dim in the serving area, and some stations were completely empty. It was giving...apocalypse? Dining here reminded me of why I never come to Atlantic City. Big yikes. read more

I'll start off by saying, this is a very good buffet, but for the price ($38.99 for dinner, $24.99 for lunch, and $29.99 for brunch) I'd only come here if I have comps to use. I wouldn't pay those prices out of pocket. It does get crowded depending on the day so you may be waiting in a pretty long line. The buffet is organized and usually everyone works the same direction in line. For years, borgata used to give 1 complimentary buffet entry for 2 if you were signed up for borgata rewards. I believe it was discontinued shortly after MGM took over. They have a wide variety of options to choose from, and typically two carving station items (one is usually prime rib and this visit the other was salmon). They always have basic sushi rolls, steamed shrimp, pizza, clams and mussels, a small fried food section, some kind of macaroni or ravioli. Their Mac and cheese is super cheesy. I like their roasted potatoes and fried chicken. Their Chinese food is some of my favorite I've ever had. The general tsos is always flavorful and crispy even after sitting in the sauce. Their Lo mein is great, spring rolls and chicken dumplings are good. I do miss their rice noodle soups. For brunch they have stations where they'll make eggs/omelettes for you and have an assortment of different ingredients (bacon, sausage, mushrooms, onions, peppers, tomatoes, spinach) you can add to your eggs. Drinks are outrageously expensive here. I asked our server the price of a Virgin Bloody Mary and was told, "same as a regular Bloody Mary, $14." Their drinks are usually average. I've had way better bloody Mary's for half the price elsewhere. So I can't justify ordering a drink here even if I'm using comps. They have a nice dessert section with gelato you can order to go after your meal. I usually get a cannoli and a piece of cake depending on what they have to choose from that day. I really enjoy coming here to eat and would recommend it to anyone, however, that's only if you have comps to spend. Returned on a Friday night and got some dinner, this time I found out if you have a gold MGM players card or above you can use your comp dollars to pay for the buffet so instead of going to the Amphora players lounge we figured we'd check out the buffet because they have more to choose from and we haven't been here in years. So it's $12.50 comps pp as opposed to $38.99 pp if you pay out of pocket. They had a lot to choose from, but also big lines to wait in. I didn't have much to eat just some salad a few spring rolls, dumplings, shrimp cocktail, and some maki rolls. I wasn't able to order cappuccino there either. I tried biscuits and gravy, cream chipped beef, sausage, bacon, breakfast pizza, frittata, hash browns, croissant, and sticky bun. Everything was very fresh and tasty. I have been to the buffet hundreds of times in the past 21 years and yes sometimes good and other times not, but I only go for breakfast so if anyone is looking for the best food and service and ambience than you need to go high end and pay the price which yes is over priced but if anyone that goes to Borgata I'm sure they gamble so my advice is to keep some cash out of the machines or tables and put that in your stomach and you will be happy. read more

I'm glad a couple of buffets are still open in AC (currently 1 of 2) because who doesn't love a little food indulgence with their gambling? It's also super popular as I arrived at opening thinking it would be quiet but there was a long line ready for opening. The buffet look is very bright and upscale and things are relatively well spread out to avoid congestion. Top picks: prime rib station, sushi, dumplings, big slices of cake, tiramisu, cantaloupe/honeydew The steaks they had out were really well done and I wish there was a carving station for that. There was one section that was empty, so they have downscaled their selection. The gelato was pretty bland/low in sweetness. There was a lot of options for selection. I can see why it's popular. We went on Valentine's Day, so expected the entire area to be crowded and it was. We did, however, go early- around 5:30. Waited don line with some kind of gross people while we were overwhelmed by the smell of cigarettes from that area of the casino. As you wait, people with "gold" and "platinum " casino cards are ushered ahead of you to tables. The cost was a bit steep for what you get. Food was mediocre, with limited choices for the size of the buffet. You need to be able to dodge some unsavory characters who are busy eating their food before they even get back to their tables. Was the best in AC for years but no longer. Went today 8/2/2025 at 5PM walked right in zero wait zero people in line was the give a way. You would normally wait 30 minutes or longer. When you approach the cold food and see tiny shrimp (I mean baby shrimp) about 1 inch long and thinner than a straw the rest of the buffet is obvious. They now serve the cheapest food they can. At $45 a head its 100% robbery for what they serve. I wont be back. read more

Dine here on Easter Sunday for brunch with a price of $34.99/pax. The buffet was such a disappointment - most of the food were cold and the pastries were rock hard. Theres the usual breakfast selections of bagels, eggs, bacon, ham and the lunch selection was mash, chicken, spring rolls and the only seafood available was cocktail shrimp. I was expecting more seafood selection or even a Japanese section of sushi and sashimi. I would usually go for all types of dessert at a buffet and the selection weren't appealing at all. Also, the carpet in the dining area was really dirty with food crumbs all over the floor. I asked for a high chair and had to wipe it down completely as there were food and sauce stains all over. For me, unlimited prime rib is the absolute minimum expectation at a higher end buffet. And I helped myself to 3 servings. It might not even hold a candle to anything in Vegas, but the Borgata Buffet is about as good as it gets in AC. Much like any spot in the Borgata, the level of quality, price, and ambiance is a cut above the rest of the casinos in the entire city. While I wouldn't say it's my favorite buffet by any stretch, I can definitely attest to many decent meals and memorable experiences here. For the many that come to AC seeking out the Vegas experience, I think the buffet is pretty close to what folks will often find out west. Amid all the gaudy decor and ambient lighting, lies a nice cornucopia of food that is well presented and has plenty of variety. There is plenty of seating and the scene is perfectly ideal for groups both big and small. The real question is: when is the best time to come? Some folks might be up for dinner ($35) but I would only suggest doing so when they're doing prime rib and/or seafood. Personally I'm a sucker for breakfast ($17), but truly the best of both worlds is Sunday brunch ($28). The prices won't matter if you're a big time player (#1). Prior to the global pandemic, the waits would be anywhere from 30 minutes to an hour or two. As noted, their strengths are in seafood and whatever meats they're offering for the day. I'm talking about lamb chops, sausages, prime rib, bbq ribs, flank steak, oysters, sword fish, baked salmon and the whole nine. While I'm not the biggest sweets person, I have to give them props for their beautiful spread of desserts. Everything from the gelato to the cupcakes to the assortment of pastries looks as professional as can be. But not all is great. To no one's surprise, the Asian section is god awful. This is pretty typical of most western buffets and frankly forgivable, but I can't get past the flavorless fried rice, subpar general tso's, and slimy fried noodles. Their Italian dishes don't fare much better with the flimsy pizza (#2), strange tasting osso buco, and random bland pasta dishes. During pandemic life, the Borgata Buffet is closed. Thankfully it's not a permanent closure, but until COVID is properly dealt with, it'll be an indefinite wait till we can go back to exploiting our gluttony through all you can eat foods. Our timing was perfect. Sunday brunch with less than 15 minutes waiting time on admission. But... due to a large group (10) , we need to wait extra 5 minutes to get tables that are next to each other. Brunch time ... always the best pick for any buffet service . There are plenty to choose from for the right price. Being said in the buffet , we normally limit carbs intake or none at all so to concentrate on other best thing they offer, the seafoods . Lol! There is plenty of seating. It is abundant with good lighting (to better see what you are eating!) . Nice decor ( giving you inspiration for a better appetite). Good service staff . Well, there is definitely a lot of food for dinner: so here is what I remember and what I enjoyed or did not enjoy... -fried shrimp - tasty. -sushi- no. -chicken fingers - they were acceptable. -spring rolls - fine. -sirloin - tasty. -prime rib - tasty but fatty and very red (too red for me). -fish - tasty. (I can't remember what type of fish it was... but it's a whole fish). -mashed potatoes -good. -fettuccini alfredo- acceptable. -onion rings - hard to get wrong, they were good. -crab rangoon (and basically all of the Chinese food area)- no. -vegetables - no. -gelato - yummy. -pastries- pass. Would I go here again - no. The service is pretty good. I mean it's a buffet and they try to clean your dishes as you go. The guy we had was really on point and you just have to make sure you tip your people if they're very diligent. We had a larger party and had to wait. When I visited AC with my parents I was trying to find a buffet we could go to since we love casino buffets. The Borgata is located on the other side of AC, we stayed at Bally's on the Boardwalk so we took an Uber over for dinner. Dinner is $38.99 a person. Their food offerings include: sushi, seafood paella, pasta, carving station, seafood, Chinese food, and a bunch of cakes, pastries, and ice cream for dessert. The food was just mediocre, nothing really stood out in our minds. We've been to a lot of casino buffets especially in Las Vegas and this one didn't really wow us. Although, I must say our server was really nice and very attentive. Overall, it's just alright but not really worth the $38.99 in my opinion. read more

This place gets between 3-4 stars. If you are staying at the Borgata, chances are you have been here. They have your usual roast section, salad bar, pizza selection, dessert bar. It is not a bad price, and a good place to gather friends and family. The highlight of this buffet is supposedly the crab legs. The food is overall OK or decent, you can have as much as you want, and it is a fixed price. Quality is of course not as good as it used to be, and due to inflation, prices went up alot. read more

The service here was quite good. We were immediately offered drink service when we sat down and the waiters and waitresses were quite friendly. I'd honestly say though that the food was not worth the price tag. I guess most people come to the Borgata to gamble and not to eat, but man, I kind of wish that for a $43.00 price tag, that the buffet would have a little more seafood other than fried shrimp, cocktail shrimp, and catfish. I think that you can definitely get a better deal at Harvest at the Hard Rock with their seafood AYCE bar. Paired with a $10 parking charge, I don't think it's worth it at all if you aren't coming here to gamble. The sirloin steak was cooked way too thoroughly (well done) and didn't quite have the flavor that comes with a good steak. Chicken soup was alright but also still a bit mediocre. Best part of the meal was definitely the pistachio gelato though - the desserts here are quite good. Ambiance wise, the typical lack of windows that you see at establishments like this is quite disheartening. The complete lack of natural lighting is lowkey such a mood killer. I get that they have to psychologically manipulate people into forgetting the time of the day so that they spend more time eating and gambling, but... who am I talking to lol. It's the name of their business. Overall, I would say to avoid this place if you are not gambling but that if you are, might as well come here for food. We were there for the weekend and usually hit the breakfast/brunch buffet. There are 2 lines for the buffet. We don't lose enough money in the casino to be in the faster Gold/diamond/platinum/ whatever tier line, so we had to wait in the peasant aluminum tier whatever line. We got there at 8 when they first opened so we could get in the omelet maker line. If you don't get in the line early, you'll wait forever. I was really looking forward to over easy eggs with rye toast They had neither. No eggs Benedict. No items with individual eggs. I assume due to the egg prices. I always eat here for dinner because I get 2 free vouchers each time I come. It's nothing to write home about but it's not bad. I actually ate here 2 days in a row recently - first time for dinner then lunch the following day. There is obviously a price difference between dinner and lunch. Dinner is $34.95/person while lunch is $20.95/person. I've never been here for lunch so I wasn't sure what to expect but do you know what I received? The exact same food options as dinner. The only exception was a small sushi area for dinner. The sushi isn't great so I only had a piece or two but every other dish was exactly the same. I cant believe that they charge you an additional $14 for the exact same items. I was more than disappointed as I just had that meal less than 12 hours prior. Not only was the meal the same but it seemed like some of the food may have been leftover from the night before. I had the fried chicken both times and the skin was rubbery the next day for lunch. Some of the options also looked like they may have been a frozen store bought item they prepared before hand. There is a decent variety of fresh fruit (or sushi depending on when you go), pizza, fries, carving station, a few seafood options, Chinese options, salad and sides like potatoes and veggies. They do a pretty good job of maintaining the number of people in at one time so its not 500 people all heading for that new plate of mussels they just put out. I've never actually ordered a drink here because I can sit at a machine just outside the buffet and get a drink for free right before walking in.
