Excellent service. Extremely knowledgeable , Answered my calls immediately, and set up a timely appointment . He arrived with one helper and they were immaculate in their work. ( installing a new higher toilet) . He is friendly , experienced , efficient, and his prices are reasonable. He also gave me excellent advice concerning a shower that has serious problems. After checking out a few things at no added cost, he knew the solution , and while others had charged a fee for procedures that didn't work, , he immediately knew just what the problem was and how to solve it. It will include some masonry work. For that , he was able to recommend someone whom he trusts to do the work. One other thing I might mention. When I made another request for a grab bar (I am not young) , he stated frankly that he thought , for my safety, I should consult a medical supply company for installation. I have used Borg Plumbing twice now. Billie is extremely responsive - I love that he likes to text to make appointments. He fixed my 1st issue very quickly and actually charged me less than he initially quoted because the fix took less time. Recently I had him out to find 2 old leaks in my sinks. Not leaking when he arrived to fix them - so he did not perform any work and did not even charge me for a service all. Incredible! A few years back, I learned the hard way about why you have to cover the outside spigots with insulating caps during freezes. Turns out there was one I missed, which froze over, which broke the main water pipe going into the house. Huge bummer. I called Union Jack about it, and he recommended Borg Plumbing to take care of it since it was a major repair. Billy's team was awesome - they came out quickly and fixed a very serious problem. Billy Borg is a plumbing ninja - calm, clean, polite and super efficient. I've hired a LOT of plumbers over the years and would stand beside this recommendation for any of your plumbing needs. He's not the cheapest, but his flat rates and speedy crew mean that you'll be back in action before you know it. Billy came recommended from Nick over at Union Jack Plumbing. Nick let me know that he'd had some surgery recently and couldn't trench in yards for a few more weeks. I needed a whole-house shut-off valve, a disposal, and a toilet changed. Mr. Borg kept in contact before our appointment, was great with a change order to our job (I added the toilet exchange), showed up on time, and brought four extra guys to do the trenching down into the water main. Here's where he really shined: when they dug up my yard, they put down a plastic tarp and shoveled all the dirt onto it. Then they funneled most of it back into the hole and ASKED ME (!) where I'd like the spare dirt. It was a rainy day and not the most fun, but they got it done in under an hour. While his guys where outside, Mr. Borg worked inside with an assistant to change out the silly builder-grade toilet that was in our house. Now, I've had plumbers forget to turn off the supply lines then flush. I've had calls of heyyyyyy do you have any spare towels. I've had water sloshed. Not the case here! I was talking with electricians in the other room and they somehow ninja-moved my old toilet out of the house with nary a peep, scratch, or spill. The new one was seated and installed before I could even notice. Works perfectly, too. My electricians hadn't run the power yet for the disposal, so Mr. Borg said he could return in a few hours and had plenty of other work. I agreed and also left. Sure enough, I got a call a few hours later saying that he'd returned to the site, gotten the unit installed, and was pleased with the work. When I came home that night, he'd left the invoice on the counter and a cute fridge magnet. Called him later and paid with a credit card. I have always been very cautious about plumbers having been not only unimpressed, but cheated and disappointed in the past. I was recommended Borg Plumbing by another plumber whom I respect and have used in the past with wonderful results. The only problem being that very good plumbers tend to also be very busy and unavailable on short notice. So first thing in the morning after a night spent with a steady leak into my house from a busted water heater, I called with trepidation that Borg plumbing would even be available on short notice and on a Friday at that. It was with complete surprise that not only did I receive a phone call back within minutes of leaving a message on the above number, but Billy was compassionate and efficient in getting an idea of how much work was involved in my job and was able to fit me into his busy schedule. And then when he had a cancellation by another customer, he fit me in earlier. Arrived with the new heater in hand, and was done within a couple of hours, including clean up time. I've since compared prices, rates, etc. with a few other plumbers recommended by others and have found his equitable with other quality professionals. Additionally, he educated me on maintenance, necessary up to code necessities he made for my system, and overall workings on the heater. We had a leak, we didn't know where. We had been quoted an obscene amount from another company just to hook camera equipment up to look for the leak. We decided to call another company for a second opinion. Borg Plumbing came recommended to us from Yelp! legend, Union Jack Plumbing ( thanks, Nick). The plumber called, came on time and before hooking up any equipment did a visual inspection around the property. He found the leak pretty quickly and (after having to dig out a three-foot-deep hole in our front bed) got it fixed for around one third of the price the other company had told us it would cost to just to diagnose where the leak was with a video camera. They put our garden back together as good as new. I love having a plumber I can trust to do a great job at a fair price. read more

When we were preparing to sell our house, our realtor suggested that we inspect the drainage pipes for leaks. After asking around, we selected Borg Plumbing for this job. Glad we did. The plumber called first, showed up on time, and worked quickly. One way to check the pipes is to run a snake through the lines with a camera attached to the tip. It's like a colonoscopy for your house. And although that sounds really disgusting, I was able to watch as the plumber examined the lines. We were able to see and discuss the 60-year-old cast-iron pipes under the house (all fine) and the much newer PVC pipe leading to the city drains (where we discovered a tree root). Fortunately, it was all clear water. Plumber was on time, expert, and courteous. Equipment was top notch. Price was good. We plan to go with him again. read more

One phone call with him was a real turnoff. I had a frustrating exchange. First, he had me confused with someone else and immediately told me not to waste his time or mine by having him come over for an estimate, since I was going to request numerous estimates (he was only the second estimate I'd requested and I hadn't told him anything about other estimates). I barely had time to say two words and he jumped into this long-winded one-sided conversation with me, a person whom he thought was someone else. He was supposed to call me back a couple of days beforehand and hadn't, so I had called him to get back in touch and try to schedule a time for him to come by. I finally got him to listen and cleared that mistaken identity up, but starting off in that manner was not impressive to me. I thought that him realizing his mistake would put us on better footing, but there still seemed to be somewhat of a smarmy attitude from him. After that, he kept interrupting me while I was trying to explain to him the complications of my plumbing problem. He acted like he didn't believe or didn't think it was possible that my problem was occurring. Look, I'm not a plumber and so why should I be expected to assess my plumbing problem extremely accurately on the phone. That's why I call a professional plumber--TO COME LOOK AT IT, not make me jump through hoops on the phone. I should have simplified things and not gone into detail, because that turned into a big mess. If others think he's polite and wonderful, fine, but that was not my experience with him and I'll try elsewhere. read more
