We tried the beef rice bowl and pork rice bowl and each added an egg. Very tasty and a good value.

Really amazing value, tons of meat, long line sometimes but service is very quick. Delicious too.

Yuk Dae Jang might be my new favorite Korean soup spot. The broth alone is to die for! Very rich,…read morecomforting, and packed with authentic flavor in every bite. I had the spicy seafood soup with fresh noodles, and it was spectacular. The noodles were cooked perfectly and soaked up all that incredible broth. The mix of shrimp, mussels, and squid made it feel hearty and well-balanced. I also tried my friend's beef short rib soup, which was just as delicious, definitely ordering that next time. The banchan really impressed me too. The kimchi had the perfect crunch and might be some of the best I've had. The fish cakes and scallions were also on point. The space is small but great for lunch or a casual dinner. Service was friendly, restrooms were clean, and overall it was a great experience. I'll definitely be back.

The good was generally good (see below). The side dishes were a disappointment (especially the kimchi). We had: Broiled Spicy Beef Rib (Galbijim) - (5/5) - Very flavorful. Good quality beef with good mix of squash and vegetables. The sauce is very good. My wife had this dish better and said it was too spicy so we asked for it a bit milder. Even with this, it still had a kick. Very good dish. Tteokbokgi (spicy rice cakes) - (4/5) - Good version of this traditional Korean dish. Sauce was yummy, but a bit too watery. Bibimnangmyun (spicy noodles) - (2.5/5) - The miss of the night. The noodles had a weird aftertaste (kind of smelled a bit like paint to me). My wife said they did a poor job rinsing the noodles. I would not order this again. There are other things I want to try on the menu so will likely be back. I do wish the banchan (side dishes) were better.

This location in spring…read morebranch is their original, and I grew up coming here for lunch every sunday after church. 1) Jjajangmyeon: My brother loves getting this one. It is sweet and a bit soupy from all the sauce. The noodles are chewy and bouncy, and get coated in the sauce nicely. There is a good amount of meat that comes with it too! The flavors are great. 2) Jaengbanjjajang: This is my go-to and personal favorite noodle dish to get here. It is similar to their original jjangmyeon except that it is less soupy and has a bit of spice. The spiciness adds a nice kick balancing the sweet and savory flavors. There are also lots of different mix ins like squid, shrimp, beef, and vegetables! The play on textures and contrasting flavors is why I love this dish 3) Spicy Chicken Wings (Yangnyeom): For not being a chicken wing restaurant, Paiks sure does serve some banger wings. Juicy big wings with a slight crisp on the outside. The sauce is amazing. It is that sweet and spicy yangnyeom korean fried chicken sauce. 4) Tangsuyuk: I never visit Paisk without ordering their tangsuyuk. Perfectly fried with a great chew. The pork is not too porky or gamey which is nice, and the sauce is a sticky sweet and sour sauce. 4) Gunmandoo: Their panfried dumplings are quite nice too! I haven't gotten them in a while, but they were solid Overall, I don't think there was a single dish I disliked here at Paiks. Service is standard, not too fast not too slow. The ambiance is not really one for dates or anything. It's super casual with metal chairs. It can get a bit cold. There are restrooms and water dispensers. They used to have the self serve yellow radish but now they just serve it with your meal. You have to clean your table yourself and put all the dish trays in the back

I went once when they just opened but I recently went during the weekday for dinner since I was craving Korean BBQ. The place is very warm and cozy since it use to be a residential structure and layout. The design of the place is very thought out with some contemporary design combined with existing structure. But the food, like always is very good. I like it there because not only is their ventilation very effective to wear you do not smell like BBQ after leaving the place, but the wait staff actually cooks your meat for you. My waiter was Ethan and he was very attentive and his cook on the meat was perfect. For appetizer, I had the seafood pancake which I highly recommend everyone to try along with the steamed dumplings. And for my entree, I did the ABC platter which I pick a meat from each of the rows. I picked the ribeye under row A. Under row B, I picked the spicy boneless short rib and beef belly under row C. To be honest, you can't go wrong with any of their selections. Of course, I had to try their hummingbird cake since I love the one from Empire Cafe. But that's another story. I also wanted to try their lemon berry cake. And to be honest, both of the desserts were a disappointment to me. They were dry but I can't fault the place for that since it's not their forte. I'm sure they out source it and do not have an in house pastry chef. There is plenty of parking, unlike the one in the Spring Branch area. They have a pretty decent size parking lot and at night, the neighbor opens up their parking lot to allow an over flow. But there is also off street parking in the front and side of the restaurant. So, go try it out.

We got the combo thing with a bunch of different meats, and the large pork belly was cooked first so we ended up waiting for a good amount of time, and once we started slowing down the beef tongue cooked very quickly and faster than we could eat. The banchan were pretty hit or miss. The kimchi and salad were highlights. Overall taking away a star because I've had better experiences at other high end kbbq restaurants in different cities.

This was also the first korean place I have gone to where they served sungnyung. I have never tried it before, but it definitely did soothe my stomach after all the food! The staff were super friendly and honestly a big part of my rating here. They were helpful with the menu, super polite and gracious, and just seemed like genuine people. Foodwise, we ordered the grilled mackerel combo with a vegetable soodubu jiggae, boiled dumplings, and a beef japchae. The banchan was fine, nothing stand out but had your standard kimchi, cucumber kimchi, odaeng, and bean sprouts. The japchae was good and had a nice portion, I did get a pretty hefty bone in one bite of my japchae so just a warning. The dumplings were flavorful but also nothing stand out. The grilled mackerel was good with a nice char and very meaty fish in general. The soondubu was probably my biggest let down, it didn't have much flavor nor spice (we got a medium). I'm used to soondubu being a bit of a spicy umami bomb and this one just didn't hit the spot for me. Overall, I think its pretty average Korean food but no dish was really that great that I'd make an effort to come here. However, its probably one of the only soondubu spots in the inner loop so location is convenient. The staff are really the winners here for me and helped me push to a 4 vs a 3 as food itself was alright.

We did the 3 meat BBQ combo, which easily feeds around 3 people and added a few extra dishes to share. We ordered the jahp chae, which is a stir fried glass noodle with vegetables and beef. It was AMAZING and probably our favorite dish of the night. Super flavorful but not oily at all which is rare for stir fried noodles. This was both of our favorites. We also tried tteok bokki, which is chewy rice cakes in a spicy sauce. They offer the option to add cheese and in hindsight I think that would have made it better. I was really excited for this one, but it didn't fully hit for me. It was good just not amazing and a little more spicy than I personally prefer. Lastly, we tried the yachae jeon which is a vegetable pan fried pancake, and WOW. It was huge, super crispy, and had sooo much flavor for a vegetarian dish. The meats and all the BBQ fixings were incredible. Honestly, every single thing that came to the table was amazing QUALITY and amazing FLAVOR. I also loved that the staff helps cook the meat for you which made the experience way more enjoyable. I have to shout out the customer service. From start to finish, the staff was amazing. They were patient with us as first timers, explained everything clearly, and made us feel super comfortable. We had a vegetarian in our group, and there were plenty of menu options for him. Our Korean friend ended up joining us and fully vouched for the restaurant's authenticity, which says a lot. Overall, this was such an exceptional meal and experience. This place deserves all the hype and then some. I will absolutely be back!!!
