YEEHAWWWWW! Save a horse, ride a cowboy! Boots & Bones brings a piece of Nashville to downtown Jersey City! This is a restaurant/bar that serves American BBQ and Southern soul food in a country-inspired environment. We visited late on a Saturday evening and easily got a table for 2 without reservations. I was surprised it wasn't crowded... maybe because it was the weekend after Christmas? I really liked the rustic "Wild West"-themed interior! The space has neon cowboy decor, barn wood furnishings, Western wall art, saddles, dark lighting, etc. One thing felt completely off, though... to my disappointment, they didn't play ANY country music that night!!! :( Booooo. There's a large bar, plenty of TV screens, booth seating, high top tables, and even a selfie machine! The ambiance is fun, lively, and casual. It's a good spot for a date, a girls night out, celebrations, or for watching sports. They also host events like live music performances and line dancing. The menu is a blend of classic Southern and Southwestern (Tex-Mex) dishes. The most popular items are the signature BBQ meats (slow-cooked beef brisket, chopped pork shoulder, smoked chicken, St. Louis-style ribs), brisket sandwiches, birria tacos, & quesadillas. There are endless options for drinks like themed cocktails, wine, beer, shots, and seltzers. They offer plenty of deals including Happy Hour Mon-Fri until 7pm, daily specials/discounts, NFL game day specials, and a brunch on Sat & Sun. What I ordered: *3 Smoked Brisket Birria Tacos $17 (includes oaxaca cheese, shredded brisket, onions, & cilantro with a side of consomme) - Oaxaca cheese + smoked brisket = perfection in every bite! The tortillas were fresh and soft. There was a generous portion of meat in each taco. The brisket was juicy, beefy, and packed with flavor! I loved how gooey and creamy the cheese was. The only disappointment was the consomme - it was bland, watered down, and under seasoned... It's a shame, because when made well, it has a rich and deeply savory flavor. On the bright side, they gave me green & orange salsa that absolutely SLAPPED - both sauces added some tang and spice to the tacos! *18 Hour Hickory Smoked Beef Brisket $26 (includes fries, dill pickles, coleslaw, and toast) - Slow and steady wins the race... I got 5 juicy slabs of brisket, cooked low and slow. It was tender, smoky, and well seasoned with a texture that melted in your mouth! While it was delicious, it didn't stand out compared to other BBQ spots. Do NOT compare this to authentic Texas BBQ. *Corn Bread with honey butter $6 - This is different from traditional corn bread that's usually served as a square slice; they give you 5-6 pieces in the shape of a mini muffin. They were buttery and lightly sweet with a toasted corn flavor. The outside was slightly crispy while the inside was soft and crumbly. Although they were good, they could've been more moist. The sweet & salty honey butter dip definitely elevated the overall taste with its lightly whipped texture. I wouldn't order this again. The service was average, but could've been better. We had to wait for someone to greet and seat us since there wasn't a host/hostess when we arrived. Our server was friendly, but didn't check in on us frequently enough, so we had to flag him down ourselves. Overall, this place is worth a shot! The brisket is a must try. It may not be the best BBQ of your life, but the atmosphere and happy hour/daily deals make it worth a stop. P.S. There's a speakeasy and dancefloor downstairs... ;) (separate review to come)

Stopped by for happy hour while waiting on my friend. Fairly nice day before the cold set in. Waitress came out quickly, very attentive and nice. I thought happy hour started at 2 but it's actually 3pm. I ordered the garlic parmesean wings and the garlic parmesean fries. For drink had the Aperol Spritz. The garlic wings and fries did not dissapointment. They were fried well and were basked the in the glory of what is garlic parmesean sauce; needless to say, the sauce was saucing. Finger licking good. I saved the rest for my trip since I couldn't finish it all. I appreciate the shavings of garlic parmesean on the fries as well. (Can you tell that's my fav sauce?) Of course the Spritz was good. I would def always reccomend boots n bones. I have to say, the food is good. Only thing is I noticed that happy hour consist of appetizers at regular price with limited options.

The energy was fantastic for a Saturday night especially with the MLB 2025 World Series shown on most screens. There are plenty of TVs where they play various sports. This was a nice reminder of when I traveled down south; just for a little bit. It's a fun and lively bar and all seatings are in booths very retro. I like the rustic, cozy vibe and western theme they have. Ordered the platter 4 with no appetizers before and we thought we'd finish it. We didn't. The servings were just right for a party of 4. The food was super flavorful and the meats weren't dry. Great selection of generous smoked meats and the BBQ classics.

This is my 2nd time going here and both experiences were exactly the same. The venue is such a vibe. Always decorated nicely and a great rotation of music from country, to pop, to hip hop. They also have a speakeasy on the bottom level. They also have a selfie machine by the hostess stand with a saddle you can take pictures on. A great place to grab a drink. Now the food...truly terrible. It's really a shame since everything else is good but if you are a foodie like me...you leave disappointed every time. I have tried probably 5 or 6 different menu items and each one was worst than the last. The best items are only ok. Nothing was good. If they could re-do their menu or get a new chef, this place would become a must-go immediately.

This spot was a good time! They have all the football games on and it's pretty loud so if you're looking for somewhere intimate and on the quiet side this is NOT it. Haha it's so fun and the service was great. The food was good and we didn't have to wait too long for it.

TLDR: great happy hour specials, amazing service, great food and immaculate vibes. Must stop by here for happy hour or to just grab something to eat. Will definitely be coming back Thursday happy hour until 9pm.... Where can you find that?? Taken care of by Samuel and Amanda- couldn't ask for any better service. Drinks were always flowing and they always checked in on us. Loaded Fries: actually loaded. Crispy, flavorful and hugeeee portion. Buffalo chicken dip: there's hugeeee chunks of chicken in that amazing dip. Pita instead of chips was an amazing business decision. Wings: I'm not going to see in THE wing guy but I've dabbled in a few wings in my life. Mango habanero, a slight kick not too much. EXTREMELY flavorful. BBQ: not too tangy, not too sweet. Perfectly in the middle and the wings themselves are cooked to perfection.

Myself and 4 close friends dined at "Boots & Bones"on Saturday, November 15 for brunch. The Tex-Mex eatery at 116 Newark Avenue in Jersey City is a great place with superior food, decor and servers. We all loved the brunch selection and drinks were excellent. Special thanks to managers Kelly and Francis and server Miranda.

I had a great time dining here. Everything we ordered was delicious, but the standout for me was definitely the mac & cheese. I'd come back just for that. I also loved the fun detail of the little cowboy hats in the drinks. Such a cute and memorable touch! Just a heads-up: if you visit during March Madness the games are on at full volume. If that's your vibe, you'll love the energy, plus they have some great specials to go with it. If that's not your scene, you might want to stop by another time. When there's no game on, they play music instead.

This place seriously lacks flavor and seasoning. I did the three amigos tacos, and all three meats tasted the exact same. When you order three different kinds of meats, they should be separated by flavor profile. I was warned this place wasn't good and shouldn't have tried it tonight. The bacon wrapped jalapeños - those are not supposed to be cooked in a way that your bacon is soggy either. They call that spicy mayo on top I believe, and it tasted like mayonnaise with a little bit of paprika in it. Definitely skip this place and find better food elsewhere.

Came here on a Wednesday night to celebrate my friend's birthday, she loves this place. They were able to seat our party of 8 with no problem. The place was lively because the Yankees were playing. There was a DJ spinning, and good ambience. Drink was tasty and I really enjoyed the brisket fries (that are shareable). Manager Chris was very accommodating.

Came here for a quick dinner on a Friday night with a friend. Seems like the place gets pretty packed quickly. We sat near the bar and ordered our food. This place is pretty casual spot but a very nice size venue. I ordered some ribs with fries and they were good. The menu is not extensive. We visited under the Boots afterward to chat and for a few drinks and had a blast. The DJ was on point playing a really good mix of music. We had a really good time.

My niece and I celebrating my sister's 10th memorial anniversary.

The food was great. The waitress was great too. We had a party of 10 and everyone was happy with what they ordered.

The…read morepull apart truffle monkey bread was our initial reason for coming, and although the price point was quite steep, I would say it's worth the try. The bread was fluffy and not dry, which I had seen previous reviews say before. Paired with the creamy truffle butter, it had a luxurious mouthfeel. My favorite was the pork chop (cognac, sweet prunes, bacon, rosemary) -- the sweet and soft texture of the prune was melted in my mouth like fat, and the pork was tender, with the rosemary also coming through. The vodka rigatoni was a skip, somewhat bland and one-note, we ended up putting some of the truffle butter and garlic aioli from the fries to make it more flavorful. This was especially in contrast with the spicy shrimp pasta which was much tastier. Also got the strawberry vacherin (strawberry ice cream, meringue, vanilla whipped cream), it was my first time having this dessert. The tartness of the strawberry was great with the fluffy meringue and the sweet ice cream. Service was extremely attentive, and the restaurant is beautifully decorated with moody lighting. Although the space was packed, it didn't feel too loud or crowded. We spent about two hours and didn't feel rushed.

I went on a Thursday night, and the place was absolutely packed. The front feels more like a bar/casual area, while the dining room is tucked toward the back. My reservation was at 10:15 PM, so I actually had a light dinner beforehand and ordered a little lighter than I normally would. I got: - Truffle Monkey Bread ($34.99) - Prime Rib French Dip ($39.99) - Pommes Frites ($13.99) - Banana Split Sundae ($24.99) I thought the prices were definitely on the higher end when I first sat down, but the Truffle Monkey Bread is divine! Honestly, it's probably in my top 3 bread experiences of my life. If you love truffle, butter, cheese, and basically everything good in life, please get this. It comes out slightly warm and is just incredible. I will probably dream about this bread. The French Dip was good, although it was a little too salty for me. If I get the chance to come back, I'd probably try one of their actual steaks instead. The pommes frites were super crispy, basically McDonald's fries but elevated. The Banana Split Sundae was so pretty. I loved how they placed all the little treats around the crevices/imprints of the dish (not sure how else to describe it ). It's huge, though, so definitely don't expect to finish it yourself. I'd recommend sharing it with 3+ people. I was also celebrating an anniversary, and they brought out a strawberry scoop for us. It tasted homemade and really fresh. I could actually see pieces of strawberry in it, which I loved. The restaurant is definitely on the pricier side, and getting a dinner reservation can be a struggle, but I'd absolutely go again if I got the chance. The decor is cozy and upscale, the food was excellent, and the whole place has a really nice atmosphere. My only real complaint was that our waitress kept pushing us to order more, which got a little annoying, especially since we had already ordered quite a bit. Overall: expensive + difficult reservation, but absolutely worth trying. And please get the truffle monkey bread.

Luckily, I was by myself, which gave me some wiggle room to grab a seat at the bar. I already knew I wanted the double cheeseburger with bacon and egg, so it didn't take me long to place my order. I definitely enjoyed sitting at the bar because the restaurant has an open-kitchen concept. You can watch the chefs prepare the food, which is always enjoyable for me. The burger itself was definitely an experience! It was beautifully presented, and everything was cooked to perfection. Honorable mention goes to the pepper on the thick-cut bacon- it added a nice savory kick to the burger. I had really been looking forward to trying it because I recently passed by Au Cheval in Chicago, but the wait was extremely long, so I didn't get the chance to go. This burger was definitely good. It's not at the top of my list, but it was worth the experience. I must say, it's also extremely high-end price-wise. For just the burger with bacon and egg, plus tax and tip, I paid about $47. Again, it was a treat, but not necessarily one I'd order again. I'd love to try some of the city's other standout burgers before returning for this one. Would I recommend it? Absolutely! Would I return? Sure, but I would probably try something other than the burger next time.

Ambiance: This place has a nice ambiance, definitely very "New York" -- dark (you can't see how dirty the floor is) and loud music (maybe too loud). We sat upstairs (we had a reservation) and of all the people on the top there was a party of 4 (us), a party of 8 (all dudes celebrating something) and the rest of the tables were on a DATE - which I thought was funny. Service: We were served by Ann-Marie who was so delightful. She was kind, super nice, and took the time to speak to us (which is basically how we figured out she wasn't a native New York City person). She gave us good food suggestions and we were very happy with our selection. Food: Here is what we ordered * Steak Frites: My two boys got the steak frites and I have to say the steak was awesome! I had a bite of each of theirs and they each ordered it differently (one Medium Rare/Medium and one Medium) and they both were prepared PERFECTLY. The fries were overflowing. * Caeser Salad with Salmon: My wife got the salad with Salmon (they only have a few salad options) and she enjoyed it. * Prawn and Crab Risotto: I got this and I have to say it was VERY bland. I wouldn't get this if you are looking for taste. I had to put salt and pepper on it to make it have any semblance of taste. Value/Price: I would say this is not over priced but it is not cheap either...bill is attached. I would recommend it to folks who are looking for a good place to either go out on a date or a family type meal.

Did an earlier dinner on a Saturday with a friend at the bar. We got some similar items, some different. The thing I kept the same was my martinis and all three (sour cream and onion, tomato, and espresso) were just as amazing as ever. Food-wise, I stuck mainly to the classics with one new dish: - Pizza rolls: Very good but 3 pizza rolls for $20 felt small to me. I feel like I remember seeing others served more when I've gone in the past, but not completely sure. They're nostalgic and fun, nothing to die for. - Fries: Great as ever, we opted for just one of the sauces (avocado dill). - French Dip: This used to be cut in 3 pieces and now it's 2. Works well with a duo but I do think it's actually a little smaller now than before when I compare photos. - Samoa sundae: Still amazing, still so so worth. It was fun going with a friend who hadn't been before and seeing the joy upon trying the dish! Walking up after greeting you, the first question the door guy asks is if you have a reservation. After being let in (once you said yes), there is a another line at the host stand to verify the reservations, then to be seated. This area is a narrow space between the bar and the staff behind the podium so there will still be a smaller wait outside for those waiting to get in due to tight space. Once seated, the bartender Meaghan came over immediately to greet us, offering sparkling, still or tap water. Alongside your glass, there was a selection of citrus (lemon/lime/orange) or cucumber to add which was a nice touch. Although I already had an idea of what I wanted, I went a completely different direction once she mentioned the off-menu selections. This ended up being the heirloom tomato salad (I know, when the heck have I ever ordered anything like this) which was $20, and a side of their hand-cut fries, $13.95. You are to order everything at once, and they course it out accordingly. The people next to me ordered a lot of food; most of it the popular items which I veered away from with the exception of the fries. The party on the other side went with two items I was considering prior so it was nice to see what these looked like up close. The tomato salad was very good! I normally scrape off onions but I actually ate all of them and the taste didn't 'stay with you' which I was grateful for, while the basil flavor was a nice contrast. These were the larger beefsteak style tomatoes so I was fork and knifing this dish. I will admit this, along with the fries, were a little more salty than what I am used to but it was delicious overall. I almost considered a sauce with the fries but they honestly did not need it; the flavor was more than enough on their own. Wasn't planning on it, but I ended up adding the apple hand pies ($19) which were pretty good. They didn't have anything really chocolate-based, so this was the next best thing. Since they come in an order of two, I ended up taking the other hand pie to go. Restrooms are right past the bar, down a flight of steps and there are two single-sex doors. If you are seated at the bar, you pretty much have no reason to go past that into the dining room so it felt like a subtle off-limit area (and staff was there to direct you where to go). Truth is, I really didn't want to like this place. I didn't want to have to deal with scoring a reservation in the future however the food I had was decent (and there are still some items I want to try), service from the doorman, Meaghan, the food runners, and hostesses was fantastic, and the atmosphere was great. You may also end up talking to fellow diners comparing dishes, and it made for an enjoyable experience all around. I'd say it was worth it.

We perused the menu and decided to go with the Naan, Beet and Rhubarb Salad, Yellowfin Sashimi, and then entrees grit cakes, low country broil, and dumplings. The food was exceptional. Nice combinations of flavors with fresh ingredients. Ambiance is nice. It's a cute spot, not too loud. Definitely a nice spot to relax. Service was fantastic. Our waitress was friendly and attentive. My mom also has an allergy to chili and the staff was nice enough to go through the menu and help her pick options that worked. Overall, highly recommend Lola's! Lovely staff, flavorful food and a cute atmosphere will make for a fun evening.

The ambiance was great and I loved watching the food being cooked. Service was 10/10 and our waitress was really attentive. Apologies that her name is slipping me at the moment. I wish they had more items to choose from but overall would recommend. I had the low country boil and my friend had the pork dumplings and grit cakes, all very delicious. I will come back for the fried chicken thighs

I feel like I am with my Italian friends and family in Corona,NY. There is nothing but love in all three restaurants. They have everything covered. The staff are a beautiful group of "International", young people. The tastes of the food and the creativity, blew my mind. The Crab Cakes are the best I have ever had! Food wise, Bayridge rivals Manhattan. The female staff made me fall in love! They make this old man feel special. Drinks are awesome and inventive.

The fried calamari could've been less oily, as this took away from the crunch; also slightly overcooked. Baked clams were decent. Salmon was cooked to perfection. Pizza was great! They reheated for us, since our group was too busy chatting. Desserts - phenomenal! Drinks- ehh. Brunch menu - French toast was decent. The salmon over hash brown , was lacking a touch of something , couldn't pinpoint what was lacking. Chicken and waffles, decent, wasn't the best I've had. Service- jonathan was our waiter during brunch and also our bartender. He's GREAT! During service dinner, we had a female waitress and I felt she lacked attention to details and couldn't flag her down when we wanted something. Overall, service is a hit or miss , I guess? If you're looking for an intimate dinner, nope. Love their vibes and music playing in the background. You might need to "shout"'to hear
