The food is great! We were at an event downtown and wanted a quick bite to eat so we stopped in for a grilled cheese, and it did not disappoint! We also ordered the fried pickles which were amazing. The fried pickles were similar to fried mozzarella sticks, but with a pickle in the middle And we just could not get enough of them. The grilled cheese itself was also really good, nice and crispy on the outside. It also came with the side of mac salad which was tasty. There are many other menu choices, and we plan to go back very soon to try something different. This is mostly an outdoor setting, but there is also covered seating. We've been coming here for years and really enjoy their food and drinks. They recently changed their fries and I'm very happy with the change. My husband loves their fried pickles. I absolutely loved my visit here. It was my first stop on a night of brewery hopping. I got the Randolph Brown ale and the Berry Dazzleburst sour. Both beers were outstanding. There was a lot more on the menu that I would've loved to have tried but I had to pace myself. I did get the chips and salsa and the cheese sticks. The food was very good. Impressed by the beer and vibes! A group of us stopped by on a Saturday night around 7pm and ordered food and drinks. I tried the White Peach Seltzer and the Red Lightning. Both were high quality and delicious. There was a performer singing live music which was really fun. The service we experienced from each employee was friendly, patient, and helpful. A super plus - the patio is dog friendly so you can bring your furry friend along. Thankfully parking wasn't that hard. There was street parking nearby and many different parking structures available around. Pretty solid brewery with great drinks and a great casual place to hang out with friends/family. We stopped by here with a group of guys for a friend's bachelor party, and they were super cool with us and even gave us all a free round of beer. Wonderful staff all around! Five stars to the "What The Huck" drink. It is a Huckleberry Pie flavored ale that was surprisingly very good. I ended up buying a 4 pack to take home. 100% with their hospitality and beer and food. Their Far out IPA and Thai tea IPA always tastes delicious and I recommend their tacos Filipino style. Brewtenders check in on you and do take care of you here. There's always paintings and other art for sale and live music and open mic days. Arcade games are a real cherry on top. I just want to say Bootleggers staff is awesome! I had a surprise 40th birthday party for my husband and it was better then expected! Emily, who is the event coordinator kept in touch with me via email/phone regarding reservations and catering. We had our own area sectioned off from the public. I was able to purchase discounted beer tickets in advance for my guests which was awesome! Catering prices were very reasonable (I ordered the taco bar). Everyone really loved the food. Staff was amazing. They went above and beyond to make everything perfect. The taco bar was set up nicely which included plates, plastic-ware and a water station. They were on top of making sure all empty cups/plates were picked up. We were able to bring our own decorations. It was a great night and I would definitely throw another party here again. What a fun spot!! Our first visit was to surprise my boyfriend, this used to be his shop 30 years ago when it was a Fire Protection company. We came in for the nostalgia, but left here a fan!! Service is really friendly, helpful, and chill. No pressure, no snobbiness, just cool cats. Fun outdoor atmosphere on the patio, perfect for cool evenings or hot summer nights. The food truck they have here now is actually really great food! We were a bit hesitant at first, but they proved themselves and we now have our favorites on the menu! Try the Fried Pickles, fo sho! Sandwiches are great, tacos are too! Great beers, Bootlegger does them well. I'm actually not a huge beer drinker, so I always ask the server what they recommend. Seems I'm a summer shandy type... who knew? Or a lemony kind. I always have to ask because I always forget the names of beers, but servers nail it and bring me something just to my liking. I have always enjoyed hanging out at the Bootleggers patio. In addition to having some of the best beers around they also have a cool place to hang out and experience them while there, you have the opportunity to play some giant Jenga or just watch sports on TV. There is a food truck cooking up some pretty darn good food. I hate to leave this negative review because this place is really cool. The beer selections are great. However the female cashier with the silver/blonde hair (who refused to provide me with her name) had terrible customer service. She was extremely rude, seemed to have an attitude, and lacked professionalism. I placed a food order with the unidentified female cashier and ordered a cheese burger with no tomato and no mustard, but when I received my food, it had both tomatoes and mustard. Upon closing my tab and receiving my printed receipt, my order was entered incorrectly. At this point I put my incorrect food order aside and tried to remain positive because I understand it was busy, and went back to order more drinks for my wife and I. Once again I was called up to the register by the rude unidentified female. I placed my order for drinks, and the unidentified female poured my drinks and shoved them hastily in from of me and quickly walked away before I could even say thank you. I would really like to come back to this place, but the lack of customer service displayed by the unidentified female cashier is really making me think twice about coming back. Used to come here many times years ago, but this most recent time threw me off. You can only order beers/food from a server now and outside food is not allowed. I wish they would give an option to order just drinks at the bar. There were a few times where we had to wait around and flag down a server to order another beer. When passing the bar going to the restroom, we overheard the servers complaining about certain tables/customers. I'm sure other customers overheard in passing lol like come on guys have some class. The beer flight was just okay, none of the flavors we tried were too remarkable but the sours here are pretty good. I had the Buffalo chicken tacos and they were deliciously spicy, with the right amount of toppings. My bf had the hot chicken sandwich and the chicken had a thin, super crispy breading that brought the heat! The carne asada fries were good, but don't wait to consume them or they will get soggy. Had a great time with friends last night! Had the cider with tajin rim, delicious! My husband had a michilada which was great also! The food was very good. We started with habanero mango wings, spicy but very flavorful.For dinner I had the pesto chicken sandwich with cajun fries, very good! The pesto on the sandwich was so rich and delicious. I have been to this location a handful of times and I finally got to take one of my friends to this spot on Friday. So we showed up a bit late because we had a late dinner in Orange. This spot closes at midnight which is fairly early for them being so close to all the bars in DTF. We ordered a round of beer and chilled out in their large patio area. There was music playing, and people playing games outside. We chilled and enjoyed the beer, my friend got one of the Knuckle Sandwich Double IPA's and she was a big fan. I ordered the Old World Hefeweizen, and it was great. They do announce last call and give you time to enjoy your beer before you leave. I didn't get to check out the inside of this brewery but the outside is a decent size. The only thing that I did notice which bothered me a bit was I could smell someone smoking, but I couldn't pinpoint where they were. I guess they let people smoke on the patio but I for sure smelt it somewhere and it made me feel pretty nauseous. Thats the reason I knocked it down a star. A lot of facilities/restaurants respect the fact that people don't want to be around smoke and they prohibit people from smoking. Anyway, cool location not too far from DTF and the bars. Never been a huge fan of Bootlegger's distributed stuff, which is no surprise, as I'm not the biggest fan of most craft breweries that are large/popular enough to distribute stuff relatively well. That being said, I had an amazing experience at this location (I believe OG or at least currently their "OG" location?). Sunday afternoon, flying solo + the anxious rescue dog, greeted immediately and handed food/ beer menus and told to sit anywhere we'd like. Inside was cozy and inviting with an open garage door leading straight to a spacious patio with chairs and tables sprawled across the concrete landscape, shade aplenty, and misters galore to keep guests cool from the heat of those hot summer days. Upon choosing a spot and sitting I was again quickly greeted with a smile and told a bowl of water for the dog was fast approaching. Needless to say, the service was friendly, attentive, and overall fantastic, which did not let up throughout the course of my visit, and the space itself and atmosphere was very nice - family and dog friendly. Part of decision to give Bootlegger's a try was their inclusion of vegan menu options, which is always a plus for me, and if even a tad bit hungry, a necessity. I had two soya tacos (no cotija cheese) - tacos were really good, came with the marinated soya (was expecting "beef" style but was more like "chicken"; I think due to the word marinated being in the description), onion, cilantro, on two street-suze corn tortillas each, with a side of hot salsa. The tacos were super good and a serious bargain at 2 for $5, especially by today's standards with food prices soaring through the roof! Was also informed that they have a fog patty option and informed that they can do chicken or beef, but the standard option if you don't specify is beef. Would be a nice touch to see them add this to the menu, and I think would be a draw for some guests to see. Opted for the beef, dog liked it, 10/10 would recommend. Was also happily surprised (not really all that surprised as I typically find the beers on location of more largely distributed craft breweries are superior to their distributed selection) with the beers. Had an OC Crusher IPA and a Train To Nowhere IPA - both were very good, balanced, solid West Coast IPAs, clocking in right around 7%, right in line with a traditional WC IPA. Very happy I gave this place a shot and incredibly pleased with my experience. Will definitely be my new go to spot when in Fullerton and truly looking forward to my next visit! This is a small Brewery. If you have kids or do not drink alcohol they have Hop Water as an option. They have a different variety of beers everyday. On some Wednesday's they have trivia night with a different theme every night. If you win you get a gift such as a gift card to Bootlegger's Brewery. This place is great! Be sure to CALL in your reservation though, since their OpenTable system was wonky and resulted in me making a reservation that was actually unavailable. We ended up waiting about 30mins, but it wasn't too bad. I had the Thai Tea IPA (7.2%) which was incredible, and that's coming from someone who isn't a keen beer drinker. It was quite floral with a sweet, tea-like aftertaste. My new favorite! The bruschetta was alright, a bit lacking in flavor but the bread was nice and crispy. Small serving, best for one or two people. The Caesar chicken wrap was on the dry side, but the chicken in it was good. The fries and fried pickles were delicious, though! What a gem! I heard that they had moved, but I have not been to their prior location. I really like their outdoor patio, with the heating lamps. It was perfect for the evening. Looks like they also have a more covered area with video games and an indoor area where you order the beers. They have a wide variety of beers. I ordered the flight and enjoyed all of the beers I had! I was a particular fan of the spicy IPA! Seems like they also have a lot of seasonal beers. I came around the holidays and it seemed like they had some wintery stouts. They don't serve food here, but we were able to grab a slice of pizza from Two Saucy Broads next door. The best thing Bootleggers has going for it is their location. Beyond that, there's not much. The patio area is worn-out and wasn't much to start with. Service is excellent and the people are great, but that can't make up for the most expensive and mediocre beer in North OC. Pints are pushing $10! You can go to several breweries within a couple of miles for better beer, better prices, and a better ambiance. You can walk to several other restaurants with better beer and better prices. I live within walking distance and only go when I have to meet someone. You have a LOT of excellent choices in OC, and this is not one of them. read more

I love this place and their beers! The only issue is the bathrooms are small. I accidently went potty in my pants because the line was too long and it wasn't number 1. We went last night for Trivia Night, it was pretty busy so when we ordered our food they told us it will take a little while, which we completely understood! We ordered our food during round 2 of trivia. Many people were sitting down and ordering food after we had ordered. We noticed that those guests were getting their food before us. A little over an hour later, the first meal of our group arrives. Then about 20 minutes later, the second meal arrives. It was the last round of trivia and I still haven't received the food I ordered. At this point, it was the last round, and many people were about to leave or close out their tabs. I went up to the front and this middle-aged blonde, white lady (she was wearing a black and orange bootleggers t-shirt and had her hair in a ponytail) walks up to me and aggressively says, "What do you need help with". I let her know that I would like to take the food off of our tab because we have been waiting and trivia is almost over. She asks, "Where are you sitting?" -- I tell her "We are sitting by the very corner where the fire pit is out." She then throws her hands in the air-- as if I was inconveniencing her-- and she goes "Yeah I can't see where your pointing". I try telling her one more time the location and she goes "I don't know where that is, you have to show me", she rolls her eyes and speed walks ahead of me. I was quite annoyed by her response. I was not being rude, just asking if I could take the food (that keep in mind, did not arrive for the last hour and a half) off of my tab. When she comes over to our table, she asks what we had ordered. I tell her 2 tacos and a grilled cheese. As she is taking them off our tab, another lady comes up and brings us our food. As the food runner is coming up to our table, the lady with the iPad states, "DO NOT give them the food, they cancelled their order". Our whole group is in UTTER SHOCK. We have waited over an hour and a half for our food, there was not ONE apology issued or even a "Let me check on that order for you"-- instead it was a "Nope they cancelled it, take it back to the kitchen". After this whole incident, there were two individuals in our group that ordered the Carne Asada Fries. When the fries arrived, the only thing on it was Cheese and Carne Asada. None of the other toppings were on there as stated on the menu. At this point, the group was waiting for their food for the last hour... so they ate it. When closing out the tab, the individual who ordered the fries mentioned how the toppings were not on it.. then said "It was no big deal, I just wanted to let you know." The same lady who treated me rudely, rolls her eyes at my friend and says "I wish you had told me this earlier, before YOU ate the whole thing". Again, the whole table was in UTTER SHOCK! My friend told her, "It is okay, my friend and I split it, again it is no big deal". The lady responds with, "Well you just want it comped so I will do that but next time let someone know before you eat it all." The lack of professionalism at this establishment amazes me. We were a group of friends wanting to enjoy a nice night out but instead were greeted with rude, condescending, and fat shaming behavior. I understand when the kitchen gets busy, but if other guests who arrived later than us get their food before, it makes me question if they had forgotten our order. There was no apology issued for the food taking an hour and half to be made. Not to mention the multiple times she told my friend that "she ate the whole thing". I hope Bootleggers takes the appropriate actions to get this situation resolved, because I know we are not the first ones to experience this madness-- and we certainly won't be the last. I also hope someone from the establishment will be able to get back to me on how we can resolve this issue. read more

A perfect local joint to enjoy a leisurely afternoon on a day off. The location might not have great parking when busy, but on a weekday we parked right up front in this tucked away surprise. We enjoyed all brews- Rocco Red 10/10, Golden Chaos 7/10, Old World Hef 8.5/10. We would reorder the turkey and swiss but the patty melt was not as good. The caramelized onions gave it great flavor, but the rue was burned-- black. The server was awesome- friendly but not intrusive. Offered a discount for the burned sandwich since it was half eaten. The dog friendly patio was a bonus for our party. Plenty of seating. read more
