I love how everything is displayed so nicely, and you can actually try on whatever catches your eye. The associates were super friendly, the service was great, and overall I had a really positive experience. I ended up getting one of their popular brown boots in a size 9 for about $150. It's definitely on the pricier side, but the quality is amazing. If you're planning to wear your boots often, the value is absolutely worth it. Pros: i've been to their previous location, which was in the same plaza and this new building that they have is really nice. It is larger, cleaner, and has more selection than their previous location. They make it clear to separate men's and women's in an obvious way where anybody who's walking in for the first time can understand where to go and what to see. There are plenty of options for shoes for Western style, like cowboy boots and workwear like boots for work and steel toes boots. The service here is really helpful and will provide assistance whenever called. I had to do an exchange on boots and they were very helpful in finding a different size. The parking here is very abundant as it is in a larger plaza with other stores next to it and nearby. The price is here are within 100 to 250 per pair of cowboy boots. Shirts and jackets range between 20 bucks 25 bucks up to 80 and 100+ for nicer jackets cowboy hats are also really good quality and can range over $100 easily but you can find cheaper options as long as you look and or ask for assistance. Cons: I did not recall seeing too many cons at this place. If I were to be nitpicky, I did not see a public bathroom but I'm sure there was one available. Verdict: I would come to boot barn for any of my western clothing needs. They have very high-quality items at different price points for anybody's price range. They have everything you could ask for including work clothes with brands like Carhart and Hawk to work boots like Wolverine, Hawk, Ariat and Timberland for both men and women. They have aisles and Aaisles of fashion boots for both men and women as well! The fashion clothing selection is vast and includes many different styles and accessories including cowboy/girl hats, trucker style hats, belts, socks, and jewelry! Every store associate is friendly and helpful! I've been greeted every time I walk in and always offered helpful advice! The rewards program is amazing and you earn rewards dollars quickly! I love Boot Barn! It had been awhile since I had been to Boot Barn. They moved to a new location and took over two buildings. So needless to say the store is huge with plenty to offer! I wish I had remembered the female employee who had helped me with some of my questions. Not only did she help with my questions she had retrieved merchandise for me to check out and helped me search for the right size hat. The staff on the floor made sure to check with customers if they were finding everything ok. It was nice to know there would be more than one person on the floor to help you out, that you didn't need to get frustrated finding help. The store was very clean and organized. It was easy to find accessories and boots. I was looking for work boots, not a big selection and the employee suggested looking in the mens selection, they have a large selection of work boots! I finally found one that fit, but I was not ready to spend big bucks. I found the clothing to be more than I want to pay, but I also found some that are more budget friendly. I had purchased a jacket over the phone which I was told the Lake Forest store is not allowed to do. Which is what I always do as my card won't work online. So my proof of purchase was my email confirmation, which she said I did not need next time in a rude way. She was so unpleasant the whole time, as if I was doing something wrong. When she finally found it and got it returned i asked for receipt for clarification, and she just told me to look on my email. So I walked out with no item, no proof of return, it did not feel right. Boot Barn seems to be an overall acceptable store. I have recently shopped on line and in person. This review is regarding their discount promotions and online shopping. I recently made a purchase online and picked up in store, which afforded me a $25 off $75 dollar online or in store for my next purchase. It was good for 30 days of the date it was sent to me online. I attempted to make a purchase online using this coupon. The website response was consistently "coupon not valid on this purchase". No matter what I put in the cart, this was the response. The coupon specifically stated that it was good online or in store. It should have been good 30 days from issuance (it had only been two weeks). It had no other restrictions written on the coupon, such as it was only good on full price items only, or that certain brands were not included. I asked about when I next went into my local store. The cashier was quite helpful. When it wouldn't work in store, she offered me a different coupon in exchange. I tried to use that at home online but received the same response. I am sure that the cashier at the store would have been able to make either coupon work if I purchased an item from the store; however, Boot Barn doesn't carry a lot of items that are in the clothing department online. It is seems devious for a company to promote a coupon that won't work AFTER you've already made an original purchase. read more

I've been shopping here for almost two years, and I'm about done. They always have the same ol boots for women -- the same styles with nothing new, unless it's a return from an online purchase. The clothing gets updated each season, but it's overpriced ($60 for a t-shirt). You can only use your military discount and the coupons they give you in-store. I'd like to shop online for more sizes because they're constantly out of the large and XL sizes for women In-store, but I need the discount because it's so pricey. So I end up buying less items than I would if I could use my discounts online (but that's probably a good thing that I'm not buying more). Ensure you check the prices of each item as you get rung up because sometimes the price rings up higher than what's on the tag, and it's a huge hassle to fix it once you've paid. read more

Quick story: We shop here often and about 5 weeks ago, I purchased a pair of Wolverine Chelsea work boots; they were comfortable "in-store" but after a few days of wearing them for work, I noticed that they lacked support and just felt "cheap". I spent money on after market insoles in hopes that they would make them feel better. They didn't. Their return policy is 30 days, so I thought it was just a waste of $175 plus tax. Came in today, and "Mel"/Melissa asked if we needed help, I explained my situation and she recognized us from previous visits, and she immediately said "no problem"; bring them in, we'll exchange them for you. I worked for Nordstrom for nearly a decade and this problem solving was an expectation. And there isn't a whole lot of space for you to look. But eventually I did find a nice pair of jeans, a cool belt and some great boots. The customer service at the Oceanside Boot Barn is just incredible. I had several contacts with Elena and when she was busy with another customer the manager Tim, stepped in to help me exchange a pair of boots that I ordered online that were too small. Eric who was Tim's boss was also available to answer questions and helping customers. Every step of the way the store has excellent customer service. The boots, the clothes, the hats that they carry are so awesome, high-end stuff. Just know you can spend a bundle here, it's easy to do because you just want to buy everything in the store. They let your browse for hours with no problem, which I have done LOL but they do keep you on their radar and ask if you need any help which is awesome. The hardest part is deciding which boot to buy because they're all so beautiful. I finally did decide and had a little issue in the sizing which they completely helped me with. The day that I picked up the boots and did the exchange on size Tim was giving me all kinds of advice about the cedar trees and also the conditioning and Waterproofing, you think to yourself oh man I'm being up sold. But listen they are the professionals and take their advice, I've used the conditioning and waterproofing on my boots and they are gorgeous and well protected! Take their advice even if you think that you shouldn't. I did and I can't be happier. I'm already excited about going back, I may not buy another set of boots for a while, but I definitely love their clothes and jewelry and will be back for the great products and fantastic customer service at the store! The manager is the best! I was driving back from a meeting and saw this place on the side of the freeway. It wasn't the one I was looking for but I found it when I pulled off and got lost and a good thing I did. I was shopping for my first cowboy hat and I was as lost as you can imagine for a newbie. I was looking at the different hats and had no idea what I wanted nor how to shape a hat. She helped me try a few hats and offered some suggestions but sensing my apprehension, she took her time helping me. I showed her some pictures of what I was looking for and she said hold on... She measured my head and found out my size then she said wait... She ran into the back room and came out with a hat that was exactly what I was looking for. It was formed and fit me perfectly as it was my size. She said the hat was dropped off for some maintenance by another customer but he never came back and it's been a year and a half so she thinks it's as good as abandoned. She offered it to me and I was grateful. I asked her how much and she said it was meant to be as it was my size and exactly what I was looking for, so she said it's on the house. I was so happy... It's still my favorite hat out of all my hats. God bless her, wherever she is working now. read more

To preface this, I have been buying work boots here for over 5 years. I am a union ironworker and use up a pair of boots every 3 months. Boot barn has always had a 10% union discount for all work boots and a comfort guarantee. In the store to purchase some boots this afternoon, I am informed that there is no longer a union 10% discount or a comfort guarantee. With boot prices very inflated, USA made boots costing $275 ++ I was not impressed with the loss of this discount. This store does not have a single pair of steel toes in womens. They only have steel toes in mens styles and they don't go below a size 8 which is still way too big. If I could give you a 0 star review I would, but because Yelp makes me be nice, I'm FORCED to give you a 1 star review for your crappy customer service your store presents itself with. Being someone who has taught an entire staff how to customer service is something I really pride myself on and whoever taught the staff here at the Oceanside location should really be ashamed with the "work" these girls do. I walked in on Saturday at around 3:45pm and started looking at the different boots that they had for sale. I walked up and down the aisles at first not needing any help because I just wanted to see their selection, but after about 10 or so minutes, I decided that I needed some help in picking some boots. I walked around only to see the 3, maybe 4 girls, standing and chatting behind the counter and causally walking around the store folding clothes still talking about their week and different social events that they would be attending. As I continued to walk around, I looked up to see if there was anyone that could help me. I made eye contact with a girl named Cheyenne twice in the store. When we made eye contact, she looked away and never approached me. As I continued to walk up and down the aisles, I went over to the clothes area, hoping someone would approach me in the section, but all that happened was Cheyenne walked past me and went to help and older gentlemen and the other girls stood again straightening stacks of clothes. As I continued to walk and physically hold different boots, I still continued to be ignored until another older gentlemen at the end of my aisle was helped and his wife as well. I started to make a game out of this situation name and continued to walk to see finally how long it took the staff to come to me and ask a simple question of "Do you need help?" or "Is Everything ok".... HONESTLY, THAT IS ALL I WANTED!!!!!!! It wasn't until about 45 minutes later someone finally approached me and asked if I was doing alright and if I needed any help with the boots I was looking at. She was able to answer all my questions, but with the horrible customer service, I will never be coming back to this location again!!! I also noticed that all the people that got helped (NOT ME) wore some kind of flannel and jeans. Now, I walked into the store in my gym shorts, tshirt and sandals, but how dare you stereotype me on the way that I dress! The girls were nice when I called; I dropped my boots off Sunday afternoon to have the instep stretched. I was told 2-3 days, which is fine, and someone would give me a call. I waited until Thursday evening to call and ask. I was told by a nice girl that they were behind and asked if I dropped off two boots? Uh yes. She told me they are stretching the other boot, one was done. I asked if it was normal to do one boot at a time? She assured me they would be done Friday and they will call me. I waited until Friday abt 430p before I called and another girl gave me the SAME story and said it'll be another 2-3 days. I came in here because I needed some cowboy boots for a line dance class I signed up for. I am not a cowgirl, I am not a country girl...I had no idea what I wanted or what to look for. The girl who helped me was incredibly sweet, patient, and helpful! I always take note to such good customer service because it unfortunately seems to be a rarity these days. Not in this case though.
