Terrible experience at this place with one of the associates coming directly to me as he noticed I was a tourist. He made me use my credit card twice knowing I would be double charged and then he asked me to deal with that with my bank company. I opened a dispute and now this place is contesting it - leaving me with the double payment to deal for about a month. My company had no problem in hearing me, but they can't take a side until they investigate, which it's taking weeks!!! I would not recommend this place to anyone. read more

Customer service a disappointment at Shoe Palace in Carlsbad mall. We've been frequent customers of our local Shoe Palace. Recently, we purchased basketball shoes for my son. They were NikeKD. My son got blisters on top of his foot from them after wearing a couple times. When we brought them back to request a credit or refund we were informed they were "too worn" by their manager Sal. We had bought them two weeks before. I know Nike would stand behind their product if it caused harm to the customer. I am now taking it up with Nike since Shoe palace won't do anything about it. Just disappointing. I will no longer return here to shop since I know they don't care about customer service. We have never had an issue like this before with a product from shoe palace. I have learned they will not stand behind the products they sell with a fit warranty. Note to consumers: Buy direct from Nike where they stand behind their product, worn or not, for 60 days. It's just not worth it when you spend over $100 on shoes. Lesson learned and unfortunately the manager, Sal, did not make any efforts to try and retain us as customers. read more

Went to Shoe Place to look for Nike shoes for my grandson. We were helped by a young lady named Paradise. She was very attentive, quickly returned with the shoes in the size that he needed. She helped him unlace the shoes so that he could get them on, and measured that his big toe was at least a thumb width to the end of the shoe. In addition, she let us know that if we purchased a bottle of the water and dirt repellent spray you would get a bottle of the shoe cleaner for free. I love these kids! Man, every time I walk into this store I'm greeted by these awesome kids who are rockin' the latest Js, I think it's cute! When I'm looking for my newest Jordan releases, they're usually guaranteed to have them in my size the day of the release, even if all the other stores don't, I guess not too many people come here after they've been shut down by Footlocker, Shiekh or Foot Action. I work right next to the mall and being that I'm a major sneakerhead I find myself in this store too many times during the week, and the employees are awesome all the time, even seeing if they can hook me up since they know I'm there too much. They've got awesome shoes, sometimes you can find GS and ladies sizes on sale, but otherwise, their prices are still great and comparable to Footlocker and larger franchises like that. read more

Smoke & Mirrors Customer Service!!!!! First I would like to let everyone know that they do not do any money returns....Only store credit. They have 2 small signs 1, on the counter that usually has shoe boxes on it 2, behind the counter where they are usually standing so you cannot see it. The 3rd is printed on your receipt, but by then its too late. I was there to buy my 8 year old daughter some Nike Free that she wanted. This would be the 3 pair we have gotten from here. However, they did not have her size in the color she wanted so they found the smallest size in womens in a somewhat likeable shoe. They told us that their kid sizes only went to a 4. OK great lets get what my daughter wanted and get the hell out of the mall. The price jumped from $49 to $94 because they were adult shoes. I was in a hurry so I paid for them. Still in sticker shock, I decided to walk 100 feet down stairs to Kids Foot Locker and WOW there are the shoes she wanted ON SALE $39 and in her size. They also told me that Nike kids sizes go up to 7. Additionally, I was honored with a Military Discount which Shoe Palace would not do. I walked back up stairs with the shoes all nicely still in the box to get my refund and got slapped in the face with the sign that they were covering and the fact that they computer was down. The store manager said he was going to do his best to be able to get my money back, even after I just said to give me the store credit. Here it is 2 weeks after the purchase and I am still stuck with the shoes because their computer was down, they could not get in touch with the district manager, BlabBlab.... My husband told me last minute that he wanted some exclusive shoes and I didn't think it would happen, but I was able to get them! Thank you Nathan for taking care of me. No matter how many times I called to see if a certain size shoe had opened up and he was always polite and courteous! I understand that maybe it was busy when I came in or they were confused because of what I said but the manager wasn't helpful at all. She and the other staff as well had such an attitude with me and never have I felt so disrespected at the mall before. I purchased some items and wanted to do a return and she flat out told me no and said that there was nothing they could do about this purchase because the computer just doesn't allow it. I was completely shocked that if someone was to get the wrong size or color that they were now stuck with those items. Luckily I went to another location and was immediately helped by everyone there and I was finally given the respect that a customer deserves. Don't come to this store unless you plan on being bullied by the staff or treated disrespectfully. I felt really unwelcome when I was making a purchase with the associate Lindsey. I tried to make small talk like " how's your day" and her response was "same shit different day." No eye contact and my receipt was practically thrown at me. I ended the purchase with a "have a nice day" and she responded with a "k" with her head turned away from me avoiding as much contact and interaction with me. If I had the option to give zero star, I would. Employees are lazy and rude. My son (who was 7 at the time) wanted to buy Jordans so badly so we went in there. There were about three employees in there. No one greeted us nor asked if we needed any help. After I let my son look at which one he wanted, I turned to see if I can ask one of the employees to get his size. Only to find out that they had all gone to the back and there wasn't a single employee in the front. I waited for good 5 minutes or longer to see one of them come out and I was able to ask if he could get my size. He looked very agitated and came back with my son's size. I will NEVER, EVER go back to this place. I have told my friends and warned them about this place so they won't get treated the way we did. It seems like every time we've gone in there, they weren't friendly but I've ignored it. Not this time. Go to footlocker or champs if you want to walk out of there satisfied. read more
