I purchased my phone here a little over 3/4 months ago so this is a late review but I really wanted…read moreto take my time and express how I feel about the staff here & businesses don't get a lot of positivity on yelp like most restaurants do. Note: I did my research heavily on cricket wireless & was really surprised how the forums had such great things to say about the company. That being said, I was prepared and wanted the service before I came into this location. So if you're looking for a review about first impressions of the company then this is the wrong review for you...but if you're looking for a customer impression of this store than keep reading! First off, I would like to note that this was the third & last cricket location I went to that day. I actually went to a different location at first next to lamppost pizza & quickly left because it was empty, the employee seemed like they had no idea what they were doing or knew anything about the company & the manager looked extremely intimidating to me and I think his staff was scared of him too. Ironically before I left they advised me not to drive to the this Elk Grove location because they "have horrible service"...so I drove to game stop instead which sells cricket service as well. Sadly the staff at GameStop wasn't so excited to sell cricket but I would like to point out that the nice gentleman told me to drive to the Elk Grove blvd location because he got service over there and told me the employees there know him. Although I got tired and wanted to go home, I decided to head to this location & I would like to say with the upmost respect that this was one of the best experiences I had at ANY sales store in a long time. I would like to point out a few things as I walked in: the store was very busy, there was a good amount of employees, & I was able to witness an upset customer & how the staff managed this customers issues. The customer said she was happy with the service but was throwing a fit because she wanted to exchange her phone but I guess was out of the one week exchange policy. I noticed the store has a "kids table" where children can play and draw and at the kids table was a very handsome boy playing hangman or tic tac toe (can't remember) with the children in the store. At first I thought he was a customer but found out he was the owner of this location. Keep in mind this man looks like he's 25! He quickly smiled at me & said "do you mind filling in for me" & went to go help the unhappy lady. After a few back and forths with the employees, the owner stepped in and allowed the customer to exchange the phone. I remember him telling her that there was really nothing he could do & what he was doing was actually losing money because he wouldn't be able to send the returned phone back to the manufacture but he allowed her to return the phone because he loves cricket & said he "believes in the product". That's something i haven't heard in a while & was amazed at how he was intricately suiting the customers needs while also helping the customer understand the loss that was at stake for him as a dealer/owner. The craziest thing was the customer was Jamaican & he knew everything about the island and the customer was surprised at what he knew & literally gave him a hug afterwards...i was surprised that he knew a lot about the customers homeland until I came to find out that he knew virtually everything about every nation (well at least every customer who came in). While I waited for my turn, he spoke to a customer about politics in her homeland Guatemala & another customer from Pakistan. This experience in how he articulated his new friendship with every customer was such a learning experience for me on how to perfect the best relationship with customers. It was obvious that this location has a STRONG connection with the staff and their customers. I've never witnessed a sales team treat their business like a local family diner & for that reason my review has been heavily focused on that & not crickets cell service. I could have gotten sold anywhere & I'm sure I still would have been satisfied, but I don't think I would have felt appreciated as I did at this location...not to mention I have no buyers remorse or upset with the money I spent here! When it was actually my turn to be helped, two of the employees were finished selling to their customers so I was helped with both them & Moody the owner. Two things I was really happy about was They all didn't have to speak to me but they did & nobody sold me or forced me on a specific phone...we just had conversations. I'm not entirely sure if this is them being honest and friendly human beings or if this was a sales technique..but what I can say was it is such a refreshing experience. In the end: I love my phone, love the service, & I will continue to support this location for the long run with accessories and friend referrals

July 1, 2026 with an employee named Amir . A couple days later my grandma started getting a ton of notifications on her phone, mostly from an app called "All File Viewer". I always help her when she wants to download a new app and we definitely didn't download this one and it sure wasn't on her old phone. There were a couple of other apps that were sketchy that I took screenshots of. These were not apps that usually come on Anroids like YouTube or Google apps. Her phone was already very glitchy and losing battery very fast. These were not apps that usually come with Android phones like YouTube or Google apps. So we made a trip to the store on July 9th hoping for some answers and to possibly return it. It was just Amir there, my grandma said it was the same guy who sold here the phone. When we asked him about the apps, he grabs the phone and goes "Yeah." As we continue to explain and he goes through the phone, he goes "Yeah, yeah, it happens all the time." And insists that she must have downloaded the apps. We also asked him why he put a $50 screen cover on her phone without asking her or telling her the price. He said she wanted it and that he actually gave her a discount, and said it was $430 retail. I asked how when the price for the phone is $229.99 full price in-store and online. Then he said its $430 out the door and said he can charge whatever he wants. So at that point we just wanted to return the phone but couldn't because it had an "updgrade". The upgrade? Putting her phone number on the phone. When I looked it up this is an actual policy of MetroPCS, keeping your same number on the phone is considered an upgrade and makes it final sale. So now she's stuck with a phone that even with a factory reset, may still have malware on it. We asked when the manager was going to be there. He said he was the manager and owner of that location. He said that the store on Franklin was corporate and some guy there was the district manager. I already checked before we went and there are no more corporate locations and he just kept saying that that one was. So the same things are probably going on there. So we were kinda done and just said we'd just report it. That's when he grabbed the phone again and started deleting the apps. My mom took the phone back and we left. Also, when she went on the 1st, she forgot her pin. He was able to circumvent it and gave her new security questions so that she could change it when she got home. When she tried to input the answers, it didn't work. She just ended up calling MetroPCS support. There was another woman customer there when she got her phone and he was going back and forth between their phones setting them up. The whole thing was very shady and left me with an awful feeling.
