I believe that the majority of this business' customers are female yet they have two very sexist mannikins out front with large breasts and noticeable nipples. I've been patronizing The Pink Spot for YEARS! In fact, I've supported all 3 locations they had over the years AND I've referred countless friends and family. Typically I would have taken this in stride but I JUST CAN'T disregard the way I was made to feel in what WAS one of my "go to" spots. Last Friday I purchased a screen protector for my phone, (which was in excess of $20) and on Sunday (aprox 48 hours later) I noticed there was an air bubble in it. I tried to rub it out not really giving it much concern. However, by Monday night (day 3) it had lifted in 3 corners and air was visible under 3/4s of the screen. They're closed Sundays and I wasn't able to make it into the store on Monday so after my physical therapy Tuesday I stopped by to have this problem resolved. By now the screen protector has slid out of position and I can barely place calls because it lacks contact with my phone. Since I'd NEVER had anything like this happen to me, nor did I expect an issue, I had no reason to "save my receipt" which was the first thing I was asked by the young lady (I say that sarcastically) who "HANDLED" me. She looked at ME (a well dressed, well groomed, African American woman) and took my phone to her "manager", (the owner, whom my husband chats with EVERY TIME we're in there), who says (basically) they were willing to take what was CLEARLY a defective product off and "clean my screen and put it back on my phone". I explained to this girl, who was obviously irritated by both my presence and my complaint, that I didn't believe that would fix the problem. The protector was either defective or the young lady who put it on did something wrong. She insisted that I had done something to cause this issue. I asked her to ask her "manager" to come speak to me directly and of course she refused. They determined my concerns weren't valid and I wasn't going to be assisted THE MINUTE I hit the door. I did my best to explain without losing my cool, which wasn't easy, since I could feel her energy on entrance. Ultimately I was refused a replacement and I left VERY BOTHERED by my experience! It's offensive and insulting to be dismissed in such fashion, without justification and denied the opportunity to even be properly heard. I'm sure they could care less, but I WILL NEVER SPEND ANOTHER DOLLAR in The Pink Spot! IN LIFE!! Since my problem was too insignificant to be corrected, I'll take my business elsewhere and seek appreciation. F&%# The Pink Spot!! I wish there was a ZERO star option in this case. Given our current climate, I expect businesses, especially small independent businesses, to be equally respectful to ALL of their customers, our concerns and our money. There's power in our community and our dollar and we have options about how and where we shop and should be valued in the way that ANYONE ELSE would be. The Pink Spot fell short! And Not just because they didn't replace a $20 screen protector, but because they didn't care enough about the individual/the consumer/the PERSON with the problem to even offer a compromise that would have remedied the issue. read more

I have been in this store a few times. The first time a few months ago looking for a case for my ipad. They did not have a case for my ipad. The second time I came in for a charger for my galaxy. The store had both a Samsung charger for $15 as well as a store brand for $8. We tried the Samsung brand first and it didn't work. The store brand worked perfectly. The sales person was so patient and nice. We continued to try different chargers and different outlets until we found something that worked. Parking: there is a few spots out front and additional parking in the back of the store. Price: comparable to other stores but they have their store brand which compares to online prices. I stopped at the Pink spot to purchase a long usb charger for my phone. The manager was helping me. She opened the cord to test it on my phone. While testing she wiggled the cord and charging stopped then started. She said my phone plug bad. She said the cord would work fine on my wife's phone. I bought two of the long cords. One pink. One red. I took them home only to find that the cord is bad my phone charges great on better cords. Like Belkin and the one I got at radio shack. So today I tried to exchange the cord. I go to the store on El Camino at Northgate, it's huge and pink! They actually changed their name to "The Pink Spot' for that branch of their business. They have EVERYTHING. Seriously. My husband broke a tiny piece of his blue tooth ear piece which made it impossible to use. We went to this place and the salesperson went right to the piece we needed. And it was only $2. I also got a BEAUTIFUL case for my iPod Touch- only $7! And, just to give you an idea, you won't find Otterboxes here, but you will find a rhinestone encrusted plastic phone case. I had been in a few years ago, and there was a guy working here that was pretty rude but I guess he got fired or quit because there's all ladies staffing the place now. I went in looking for a ATT Galaxy S2 [SGH 1777] replacement battery, after running around from cell phone shop to cell phone shop downtown I thought hell...might as well drive to Natomas and try The Pink Spot. So I called and they appeared to have what I needed . I was rung up by a gal named Michelle, and even got a free gift. Well, later on after running errands I noticed the new battery was dying but wouldn't charge and went back to the pink spot. Michelle, who was still on duty immediately resolved the issue and got me the right battery [which turned out to have four prongs instead of 3 like the one I got earlier]. In and out in matter of 7 minutes each visit. This is the type of service I like to receive from a business: I buy something, there's a problem it gets fixed in a reasonable manner [she was polite the whole time] and amount of time. I've spent hours and hours trying to get audiobooks and music on the mp3 that I bought a few days ago. I went to my phone provider and they couldn't get it going. I went to our library to see how I could download audiobooks and they said they couldn't support mp3 or mp4. I spent time on the Internet trying to find out how to make it work and couldn't get it to work. So I went into the Pink Spot where I bought it, and Michelle spent over an hour trying to make it work. She and a co-worker did everything they could to fix it and I finally have hope I can use it.
