I used to go to the AT&T store at Peninsula Center store where the staff showed they cared about customers' billing and wanted to make sure they kept the customers. (Employee ID Mz509C) told me I could either pay the remaining ~$580 on my phone or open a new line. I explicitly declined the new line and chose to pay the balance. After leaving, I discovered Michael had added a new 310 number and $72 Premium plan to my account anyway without my authorization. I returned to the store and ultimately had to involve law enforcement and file a police report. In my experience, Michael was uncooperative even with the responding officers when we sought information about what had been done to my account and how to escalate the matter. This is not simply poor customer service. An account change I specifically declined appeared on my account anyway. I am asking AT&T Corporate, Global Fraud Management, and this store's regional management to investigate this transaction and Employee Mz509C immediately. Upon arrival with our current router, I was greeted right away by the same person who helped me over the phone. I expressed my issues and my router was swapped for a newer model with no questions asked and nothing owed. I was even to able to upgrade our internet speed for LESS than what we were already paying. Win win. Get home, got the new router installed, success! Everything has been solid since. I wouldn't hesitate to go into the store if needed. Great experience customer service wise.
