We made another visit here, this time for dinner, and with different friends who have not visited…read moreSouth Front Tavern before. It was great weather this night, so we opted for an outside table that was in total shade. Very comfortable. Our server came by for drink orders. We had no appetizers this visit and went right into entrees. We tried the Port City Burger, the Gnocchi with chicken, cilantro lime shrimp quesadillas and the salmon tacos. Everything was delicious. The only complaint I would have is that the Salmon Tacos was a bit small. The dish is two small tacos with a side of tortilla chips. There is no salsa, no pico de gallo, no slaw. I was actually sorry that I didn't get an appetizer. I was still a little hungry after I finished. We didn't want any of the dessert offered this time. Again, everything was great. Service, food, atmosphere, outside patio. Just my dish was a little less in size. I will keep that in mind next time we visit. I'm not sure something like this would be changed on the menu, but I still wanted to voice my opinion. Still a great place with a great menu and service. If the weather is good, opt for the patio. It is really nice sitting out there.

A table arrived after we got our appetizers and got their food, a box, paid, and left before we even ordered our entrees. Each drink took minimum of 15 minutes and were incorrect. The server had to come back and double check multiple orders. We were not checked on once unless we flagged her down. The list goes on. Will not return unless we order take out.

We came yesterday and didn't want to wait but then came back today and got our group on the list and waited. Note that the parking close by is expensive and they won't seat you if your whole party isn't there within 5 minutes of texting that your table is ready. So yep- plan to wait and sit around. Inside it's pub style, bar available and good music, but not much seating which explains the wait ;) We ordered the 109 Chestnut Chicken Sandwich, the Hot Roasted Pork Sandwich and the Reuben. Our waitress recommended not getting the onion rings app and to do it as sides to save money, and man, we had SO MANY leftovers. The pork sandwich is super good but so filling. I could only eat half with all the onion rings! The Reuben was absolutely delicious and I would 1000% get that again. The best thing on the menu in our opinion: the Cheese Steak Egg Rolls with chipotle mayo- OMG. We will DREAM about these!!! I haven't seen these talked about much- TRY THEM, they were literally mouth watering and I would have eaten them as an entree and not an app! Overall we would come back again, just be prepared to wait forever for a table and you won't be disappointed!

We were next and got the last table for two. The place was completely full. After reading the menu, the daily special was 1/2 price burgers. They also gave first responders 20% off on Mondays. They have specials every night, so it is worth it to check that out before coming in. We started with a basket of hush puppies and corn muffins with yummy molasses butter. If you get in between 3:30 and 5pm, appetizers are 1/2 price Monday through Friday. I can see why this place is so busy! So I decided on a burger, who can pass up half price day? And we also got the knuckle sandwich, which was 20% off for first responders, so my hubs got that. Off to a good start. Also tried fresh squeezed lemonade, really delicious and fair priced. The burger and the sandwich were huge, we both had to take half to go. You get one side for $1.50, but added sides are $4 each. Still ok since the prices are good. There were charges for the added bacon and cheese on my burger but still at half price, it is a great deal. The restaurant is very rustic, pub atmosphere and very relaxed. The bar was completely full, so that must be the highlight of the restaurant. Looked lively and busy. Service is very good, the servers come back to check on you often. Chloe was very sweet and attentive. The only disappointment was dessert. We chose the cake of the day. It was chocolate Bundt cake with cinnamon frosting. To be completely honest, it tasted like boxed cake mix and canned frosting. It was very small, so I knew it was probably cake mix. There was nothing special about this; it was also pretty dry. Even if they purchased their desserts from a local bakery, it would have been better than what we got. I won't say avoid all their desserts, but I wanted to point out the cake specifically. So overall: The prices were excellent, food and service is really great, and the pub atmosphere was nice and comfortable. The plus was that on a busy night, we didn't wait for a table. They do not do reservations so prepare to wait, or just go earlier. I would definitely come back here, and enjoy some more of the large menu. 5 stars

My wife ordered the Cajun Chicken Pasta with fried Brussels sprouts, and she really enjoyed it. I had the Black Bass with asparagus, which was delicious and beautifully prepared. I also enjoyed a Blueberry Mojito Mocktail, which was refreshing and paired perfectly with the meal. A special shout-out to our server, Paige, who was absolutely sweet, attentive, and made sure we were well taken care of throughout our meal. Her warm personality and excellent service added to an already enjoyable evening. Great food, great service, and a wonderful atmosphere. We made a reservation for a party of 5 and were seated outside at a table with a great view of the water. We chose this place because it had a decent selection of gluten free options. I had a bowl of clam chowder and a glass of wine since it was late and I wasn't super hungry. My friends ordered a mix of entrees including the burger and fish. While we enjoyed the food, the service was quite slow and a little lackluster. We asked for extra butter to go with the bread and were met with apathy and a small extra ramekin that wasn't really enough for all of us but we didn't bother requesting again. Although the food tasted good enough, the long wait and the high prices brought this down to a 3-3.5 star experience. @azfitfoodfun

So innovative and delicious, sauce had a bite to it and the sausages were juicy and crispy with the empanada crust, highly recommend. I wanted to house made roast beef only available on the weekends but it was sold out, no surprise. Opted for the Ghostface Fillah instead. We started with a nice draft and the baked crab dip. To me the horseradish is a unique ingredient that sounds odd but makes this an excellent dip. Coupled with the garlic bread it is a rather decadent starter. Since we are leaving the coast, we also enjoyed an order of local oysters? Fresh and tasty. I liked the "pico de gallo" and the habanero mango sauce. That made for a new way to enjoy the oysters. And finally, I enjoyed the Cajun shrimp tacos. The shrimp were seasoned and prepared to absolute perfection. Our server Damani was very nice, cheery and attentive. She did a great job and we appreciated that. I was pleasantly surprised with this place. I thought it was more touristy and would be ok at best. But it was one of the better lunches I've had in the past month of traveling up the southeast Atlantic coast.
