If I could leave this rating without any stars I would.... We were impacted my the freeze and hired this company to do the work on our house. They required a $500 deposit upfront. The people they hired entered our house WITHOUT our permission when we were gone and began working on tearing down our walls without us being there. It was a whole family including children of people working on our house when we entered our home. We have been trying to get an invoice from this company since the end of February. We have left messages, spoken to Nick, we have had promises of them coming out to fix our gutted walls which weren't completed, and have had promises of invoices that never came. We are entirely unhappy with this company for their lack of communication and questionable business practices. We do not recommend them for any services and will be reporting them!!!!! Also as an edit, as of 3/17/21 they have an expired license as a mold remediation company through the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation. We had water damage in June of 2019 and we are still waiting for them to complete the work. My kitchen is still missing part of the cabinetry they lost and the painting has yet to be redone. We have put in several calls and they say they'll get back to us but they never do. read more

If I could rate this company with a zero I would. Do NOT use this company. They will take advantage of a natural disaster, charge you price-gouging prices and if you don't pay their price-gouging prices, they will place a lien on your home. During the recent winter freeze disaster in mid-Feb 2021 I needed a remediator. They didn't provide any written estimate and Brian Boone simply stated he would charge a fair price, which in hindsight I stupidly trusted. I was desperate for service and gave him a deposit of $1500. They showed up a few days later with a bunch of day laborers and did a mediocre job pulling up the wood laminate flooring and cutting out wet sheetrock. They actually missed some areas and damaged sheetrock that didn't need to be cut out. A few days later after that, they showed up with the air movers and dehumidifiers. The workers did a poor job. They plugged all the air-movers into each other to make a daisy chain before plugging into a single outlet which of course blew the circuit breaker. They didn't distribute the electricity load and simply reset the breaker and left. I had to unplug and re-plug everything myself to make sure no single breaker was overloaded so the circuit breaker didn't trip again. Then they had the dehumidifier hoses all piled into the sink and one hose was left out. When I came home from work later that day, that hose was leaking water all over the vanity causing damage to it. They charged over $13530 to remove and dispose laminate flooring from 3 bedrooms, a hallway and the family room and some sheetrock in some of the rooms as well as rental for the air movers and dehumidifiers. When I submitted the invoice to my insurance company, they immediately said that this seemed kind of high. In fact, upon closer review of the invoice, there were actually some duplicate charges! Brian spoke with my insurance company and removed the duplicate charges and reduced the invoice down to $10756. The insurance company still felt that this was high and had the the invoice sent to a third party called CodeBlue360 who evaluates insurance claims. They use local pricing to provide accurate valuation. They determined that the actual fair and reasonable charge for the services rendered was $6600, less than half of what Boone's Restoration tried to charge! When Brian Boone got the report back from CodeBlue360, he was not happy and told me I had to fight with the insurance company because he didn't have time. I told him I would pay him whatever the insurance approved. Less than a week later, I got a lien notice. No additional communication, nothing. Just a lien notice. Buyer beware, Boone's Restoration will charge price gouging prices, will NOT work with you even though things are still going through the insurance company. They will be more than happy to put a lien on your home. Do NOT use this company. read more

My experience with this company has been the most excruciating I've ever had with a contractor to date...and let you tell me, I've had some doozies. To put it in perspective, a house with the exact same floor plan in my neighborhood BURNED, and the contractors there have remediated and rebuilt that entire house while we're still waiting for mold damage and flooring replacement in ONE room. This project was started before summer, and God bless it, it's STILL not finished. In all fairness, the Boone's seem to be very nice people, I don't think they have nefarious intentions and want to do a good job, but that only gets you so far in business. I've spent an uncountable number of days waiting at home for contractors to show up as promised, only to have them no show with no call letting me know. I day boarded my dog in the beginning of the project because he's super anxious, but after paying for him to be boarded over and over with no one showing up, I stopped...and doggie camp isn't cheap! It's honestly been a nightmare and has caused a great deal of stress on my family. The Boone's are very hard to reach, despite their very sweet office manager doing everything she can by passing messages along. They have no respect for anyone else's time and will leave you hanging at home and not call to let you know something came up. Also, prepare to be your own project manager, because there is little to no oversight by Boone's. Checking a job sight regularly to make sure things are going well doesn't seem to be in their business plan. The quality of the work has been terrible. They've had to redo pretty much everything. Yes, I know there have been supply change issues that can slow things down, but their terrible communication for months on end is inexcusable. I have no problem deleting this review if Boone's actually gets everything completed to satisfaction. That being said, I certainly do not recommend this company for anything besides, maybe, carpet cleaning because I see some good reviews for them on that, but anything else...proceed with extreme caution. I'm really hoping I don't receive a nasty response to this like I see they've done with some other poor reviews, because I have LOADS of screenshot documentation to prove that everything I've said on here is true, and even them acknowledging they've done a terrible job. Contract date 8/25/21, set dollar amount w/6mo move in date. Move in date given of 3/4. 2/28 no kitchen/bath counter tops Painting incomplete, no blinds, toilets, gas and electrical no connection due to incomplete work. Brian Boone called and states that the agreed quartz and fireplace (12/29) will not be installed unless I pay an additional 12K. ALL monies, including the 35K contingency, except the final 10% which, by law, cannot be billed until the work is completed, have already been paid out. He said no more work will be done unless I dish out more money! After hours of stressful communication, I agreed to pay an additional 5K and buy the quartz myself (documented). ALL I WANTED WAS MY HOUSE TO BE COMPLETED!! After money was paid (via QB, like all invoices) some contractors showed up the following day. I moved in on 3\9 with no heat or hot water and a gas leak!! There have been ongoing issues with A/C, plumbing and electrical. 11/3 I received from USPS a "Notice of Filed Lien". To date I've never received the final 10% invoice from Boone, neither by mail nor via email/QuickBooks since it's illegal to collect on incomplete job. I email Nicholas on 7/25 and 8/22 about the incomplete work and breach of contract there was no word of an outstanding invoice, simply because there could be no invoice since the work is incomplete and I have not signed off on this project. Still no functioning tub in master, fireplace not working, water heater leak, many doors without knobs, unfinished baseboard, unfinished attic, not right office door, unfinished garage and on and on. read more

Worst customer service. Repairs were horrible and I would not recommend them to anybody. Don't know how they're still in business.

I could give this company a zero I would. DO NOT hire this people. They create more damage to your property than restore them. They show up once a week thus dragging the project to forever. They hire the cheapest workers out of the street even without knowledge of how to work on things needed repair. I've complained about this company to BBB. read more

I had high hopes due to the positive reviews online. There were some delays up front, which were understandable. When they finally got started it seemed like they were very meticulous. But they ran into some simple plumbing issues and it took almost 2 months to resolve. The project manager was completely unresponsive and never provided updates or returned calls or texts. I rarely give poor yelp reviews, but I was constantly chasing them for updates and to finish the work. There are lots of remediation companies out there, so I would never use boone's again. read more

Rarely write reviews, but hope I can save someone some trouble... At first, I was happy with this company and their work, and they were pretty friendly. A little forgetful on a few things but that can be overlooked with most contractors when they're multitasking. They even fixed a couple things they messed up on fairly quickly. But the bottom line is my job remains unfinished. This isn't a petty issue. Overall, I wouldn't risk spending your money with this company. I've given them several months to make it right before writing a review so they've had ample time. I've had a couple other contractors paint & do some carpentry work recently and I've never had one of them leave a job unfinished. I can't say enough good things about Boone's Restoration Technologies. From the moment I called to the final walk-through the dedication to quality workmanship and customer service is evident. Nicholas is simply wonderful. He is polite, professional, knowledgeable and easy to work with. He handled every detail of our home restoration as if it was his own home. He worked very hard to get us back in record time-less than three weeks. He even helped manage every step of our insurance claim. He made us feel that everything would be alright, that we had someone in our corner. I hope to never have cause to use restoration services again but if I do, I will definitely turn to Nicholas and Boone's Restoration again. read more

We knew that Boones Restoration was good at mold remediation and water damage, but we didn't know they also handle carpet cleaning and air duct cleaning. When I hired them to clean our carpet, their workers showed up on time, handled this job very professionally and courteously. While walking through the area that they needed to clean, they pointed out what will come out and what will not. They also were willing to move the furniture. After they finished their work, the result had exceeded my expectation (my stairway turned from grey to white). All in all, we are very satisfied with their work and will highly recommend their service to our friends and neighbors. read more

I searched for reviews and found pretty decent ones, so I called Boone out to pick up where another company never even got started. The initial meet went well and they assured me that they were "professionals" and the "mold team" they were eager to assign to my job would take "great care" in containing what may potentially be harboring or brewing within my walls from the recent storm. They were even flexible enough in meeting with my PA and the insurance adjusters (flood claim) to go over the damages and hash out a plan with all parties present. Fantastic! I only wish I'd seen these reviews beforehand (which for some reason weren't evident a couple weeks ago....)... Let me just say - they put on one hell of a show! From scheduling them to come out to getting the actual work done, it has been a real migraine. Brian Boone doesn't return calls or emails, the kids - exactly what they are - working for him are not the least bit professional. When approached with any type of question regarding punctuality or the actual work being done, I don't get any responses or I've only received "I'm a licensed mold inspector and know what I'm doing." The fact that one would feel the need to constantly shove an accolade down one's throat, leaves much to be said about that very one's true experience/qualification level. Basically, what I mean is - a license to do something doesn't mean you're capable of or qualified in handling that task. Clearly, in a situation such as this - your end result will speak volumes. There shouldn't be a need for verbal reiteration. The first day, they were scheduled to arrive at noon. They showed up at 9am to work without even notifying me - except apparently calling when they were at the front door - to which I never heard a bell or a phone call. After inquiring as to where the guys were when noon came and went, I was told they would come back around 2. At 2:30, two young guys showed up to my home in a beat up vehicle with a trailer attached and no identifying clothing or logos anywhere. Albeit, Austin - was the only one with a "Boone Restorations" t-shirt on with a logo that was pretty invisible unless pointed out directly, to which he did. The other guy with him, was in plain street clothing with nothing identifying on him anywhere. After speaking with Brian on the phone, I reluctantly allowed the guys in to get started. On the upside, they did tape everything up quite nicely and made sure to be efficient in that regard, and that's about it. However, they only stayed all of 2 hours!! They came back the next day on their own dime without even scheduling with me - only after I called to find out where they were - to work another 1.5 measly hours in one more room. When they informed me they were done, I asked which room they were moving on to next. They noted we needed to remove items from the living room (that's understandable and a pod was in route). I agreed and mentioned that we still had 3 garage bays needing mitigation as well. They had no knowledge and were not informed of that work. I explained that it was made clear to their boss - Brian, and that our PA had also been in contact to remind them. I even went so far as to getting my PA on the phone to help clarify the work as well. Instead "Mr. Proud-of-his-accolade" constantly reminded the PA of his background, which at this point is irrelevant to this issue at hand. Needless to say, nothing more was done in my home. We are now left with finding yet another company to pick up where they left off - yet Boone still wants/expects to be paid. If you do the work, you get paid...right? I'm getting the impression that that's not the case here. I've yet to receive any invoice, or any justification as to why my family is in the position we're now in. I am extremely disappointed to say the least. The biggest problem I have though, is the lack of consistency and follow-through. I don't like being in limbo - ESPECIALLY when it involves the health and welfare of my family/home. I'm honestly not sure how this situation can be rectified at this point for me personally, but am hoping this is a mere communication flaw and misunderstanding. In the meantime though, all I can leave you with is this... "Buyer Beware!" Should the situation change or Boone Restoration attempts to successfully assist me in getting this situation rectified, I'll gladly update my review to reflect that. read more

Unorganized and have left work undone. 2 stars because they have stayed in touch with me pretty well but they need to get better organized, show up regularly, plan better and FINISH the job! Don't use unless they agree to get pay docked for taking forever. My house was damaged May 2015 and am still waiting in Sep. 2015 for them to finish. I am a repeat customer of Boone's and I recommend them to family, friends and clients as well. Twice they have performed miracles in my homes when it comes to pet stains on the carpet and/or subflooring. They have done a fabulous job installing carpet twice. I used them after every tenant to clean the carpets in my rental property as well as in my own homes. Brian himself calls me back and in a timely manner. I cannot say enough positive things about them! read more

My wife originally in touch with the owner Nicholas who quoted her on a water damage problem we had. Apparently he was extremely helpful and worked out a good deal compared to other companies she and I had called. However, things turned pretty sour during the whole process when I was home. The two workers, Brandon and Austin, were very unprofessional. They kept stopping to take breaks and when I went out to speak with Brandon at one point to see where they were as far as progress, I smelled a strong odor of marijuana. I also caught one employee playing video games on his phone while the other guy worked. They had some very offensive conversations that my wife didn't appreciate one bit as well, some of which were dirty about her when I was not at home. I confronted Nick about some of these issues who in turn was very rude to me over the phone and condescending. After doing so, they decided to leave work undone and break a few things of mine. I had some belongings go missing from the medicine cabinet in the restroom. I definitely will not be doing business with them in the future or even referring them to others. read more
