Mann, where do I start, im actualy a little embaressed that i have not gave Boones feed store a review and i have to other places ive been to like where tf is my loyalty. My apologies, and with that being said ive been going to Boones since i was about 11 years old getting help thru all the pets ive had, im talking about chickens, pigeons, ducks, turtles ducks and whatever else i coukd get my hands on, except cats, and man am i grateful for boones always helped me thru all my endeuvors and always had a smile while doing it. This is one of my favorite places to visit business or no business. This spot is one of my fav places to buy chicken feed. They have everything you need for your farm and have a variety of seeds that my chickies quickly gobble up. Plus the service here is awesome and very friendly-- helped me carry those heavy bags to my car and took time to understand what I'm searching for. I really love this store. Most of the time I can get everything I need from here only thing I don't buy from you is my dog food because they don't have the kind that I use but I get all my dog shots from here. I haven't had any problems I get flea treatment pills from here never had any issues, they even have antibiotics for you if your dog is sick and need it. This is a great store. Boone's is a pet store that has been stealing from my community for years, Today I needed some raw goat milk but I didn't have time to drive to EL Granero feed on Atlantic where I normally shop, can you believe these Boones tried to charge me $26 for 32 ounce of "PRIMAL RAW GOAT MILK" on Atlantic I pay $9.99 for the same brand. this place is fabulous and worth driving out of your way for. The prices are low and the pet food is very fresh because of the rapid turnover of their stock. The service is excellent and helpful and it's not far from the 105 freeway. I regularly buy birdseed and chicken feed there. read more

One of the most surreal experiences I ever had. I grew up in rural Alabama and remember going to Reynolds Bros. Feed&Seed with my grandpa. It was a feed&seed with a little general mechantile like hardware, overalls, hats, etc. It was the neighborhood hang out for the old timers. Everyone knew each other and had a joke or backhanded compliment. I found the same store in South Central Los Angeles! Went for a couple bales of straw, ran into someone I worked with hanging out talking to his buddies and giving the staff a good humored ribbing. My daughter went with and loved the chickens, ducks, and bunnies. Everyone friendly and helpful, enjoyed the store and my experience so much. So surprising to find this link to my past while two worlds are seemingly so far removed. read more

I'm 65 and grew up (1st thru 5th grades) down the street at 520. I bought a baby chicken here when I was 7 for 5 cents! It's not the same store looks wise that I remember, it was more rustic back then, late 50's, but it's the same location! Funny that there's still a feed store here! My dad used to buy hay for our horses here and all our other animal needs. Pretty strange that there's still a "feed store" at this location after all these years! Of course, my house is long gone and the lot doesn't look at all like it did back then! We had so many fruit trees, and they're all gone! So sad, it was such an awesome property! Magical, and in Compton yet! Yes, really! I'm giving 3stars because I don't know the current owners, and when I tried to talk to them about how long they've been there the guy was really rude! This is a great place to get your puppy vaccinated. The prices are unbeatable and if you're not comfortable giving your dog his shot they will do it for you. Great place to take your kids with you and make it a family outing/field trip. Really like this place for their pricing. Pricing is good compared to other places and the customer service is always good. They take your pet food out to your car if you purchase the really big bags. They also provide shots for puppies at a good price. I have a mobile vet that comes to my house but I will be bringing my pet here if we ever stop with our current vet!! Nice owner, great place to shop. If you want to hatch chickens ir quail, they gave chick starter mash. Most feed stores don't. And they gave the narrow water feeder so your chicks don't squash each other into it and drown. Still need to add marbles to the trough. If location is convenient they are worth a try.
