Wow! Has the vibe at this place changed. I used to shop at their now closed location in Culver City. Since then, I have received a few deliveries from their Torrance location. Today, I decided to actually drive out 17 miles to Torrance, so that I could fit my rescue puppy to a harness, as she has been sharing one with one of my other dogs. I also had run out of food for my two senior dogs and needed more puppy supplies as well as treats for all of them. I decided to take her out to lunch in Redondo Beach, where she had some wonderful rotisserie chicken, and then head on over to the Global Per Food outlet in Torrance. Quite a trip from West Los Angeles. Upon walking in, there was a lady at the checkout with also a puppy, and a middle-aged man who seemed to be looking up something for her. The puppies obviously immediately wanted to play, so they did while the lady and myself had a pleasant exchange. While the man was looking up something for her, I decided to ask if there was a restroom I could use before I embarked on a shopping spree. He rudely looked up at me and in a condescending tone told me that they were not allowing people to use the restroom. Funny how restaurants, makeup stores, and malls do allow restroom use, but this pet food store only allows you to shop. I asked if there was a restroom around the area that I could go to really quick, as I have only been to this location one other time and it is in a highly industrial area (no starbucks or anything like that around) and he once again shot me a nasty look, shrugged his shoulders, and said "I don't know" as if I am an idiot for asking him, and then told me, yet again in a condescending and very, and I mean very, dismissive tone "maybe a gas station." Given that I drove to support the Global Pet Food outlet a whole 17 miles just to be made felt like it is a crime for wanting to use the restroom is complete bullshit. And like I already said, the Torrance location happens to be in an industrial area so finding a bathroom at some random gas station in not the best of area with a puppy is definitely not on a younger females list of the brightest things to do. So with no other choice, I left to go on a hunt for a restroom, and was able to locate a gas station eventually, but they were also not allowing people to use their restroom. At that point I got back in my car and went straight back home. Seems like some businesses use Covid as an excuse to not clean bathrooms. Either way, this was a very unpleasant experience. Clearly, this business does not appreciate long time customers, especially when it is obvious that their business location is not the easiest to get too. So today, they lost one. And fast. Next time a little courtesy, respect, and awareness of various aspects to circumstance given your location, will go a long way. I suggest you figure this out fast if you do not want yet another location to close. After today's exchange, I am happy to take my money, my TIME, and my self-respect, elsewhere. read more

The owner, John, has poor customer service skills, so much so I doubt I will ever shop here again. Shop at A Paw-Fect World on Crenshaw. They have nice owners. I used to shop at this store on a weekly basis. I've sent $1,000s at this place because I have 4 active dogs and I foster other pets. The employees are generally very friendly, and they know me and my 2 huskies and 2 aussies. I'll spare you ALL the details, but the spark notes of the situation is: I left this store, went home and unloaded my packages to find a bag of 2 packs of raw marrow bones and some canned food were missing. I called the store to ask if I had left it. They called me back and were reviewing the camera footage. The male voice used a very rude tone, and without saying the word 'lyer", implied I was lying because the footage showed I had taken all my bags out the store. My issue is the word choice and the accusative and impolite manner in which I was spoken too. I was a concerned customer who could not find an expensive purchase. I certainly was very polite, but this was not reciprocated. He never said that he valued my patronage and wanted to resolve the issue to everyone's satisfaction, just, " you left the store with all your bags, and after than I don't know what you did!" What is that? I called back to speak to the female manager, and she agree that she knew I was a loyal customer and everyone knows I shopped there frequently and would try to lie or cheat the store. I called back again to speak to John personally, but he didn't really acknowledge that he had been rude, just gave me a lame 'sorry', but again didn't say anything about wanting to keep me as a customer. LAME :/ You will probably have an ok shopping experience here if you don't require having to deal with the owner. He acts very friend when he walks around the store, but if you have a complaint or feel there is a mistake regarding your perhapses, you are likely to become very disappointed and displease with your experience. I cannot remember another time in my adult life where I was more upset after speaking to a business profession then I was after speaking with John. read more

This is the most well kept secret in the South Bay for pet owner/lovers!!! The prices are fantastic. They carry all the top pet foods---not like the food in the grocery store. Wellness is what I use (my cats (3) have noticeably changed both on the outside and inside. Bright eyes, their coats are shiny and gorgeous and their increased energy is both hilarious and exhausting. ), Royal Canine/Feline, Eukanuba, Breeder's Choice, Avoderm, Innova, Max Cat, California Natural, Natural Balance, Nutro, Merrick, IAMS, Science Diet, Pro Plan and they also carry some refrigerated fresh food items etc. You do usually have to by the canned by the case and most of the dry foods are the very large sizes, however, some dry comes in different size bags. They also carry pet supplies--litter, vitamins, leashes, collars, food storage containers, treats and grooming supplies. They are located in a warehouse building and they have 2 days a week of long hours--the other days are from 10A.M.-2P.M. The owner began the business because he lost his wife to cancer and he has small children. He wants to be there for them and with them. I highly recommend Global. Customer service is great and the employees and owner are very friendly---when it isn't too crazy in there. The prices don't even compare to anywhere else. The only time I go to Petco is to buy Pounce Hairball treats--my cats like them and they work. They hate Petromalt and Laxatone. I just give them the correct amount of treats for their weight twice a week and that's it. I can't remember the last time one of them had a hairball. It;s on the corner of Normandie and Jon streets between 190th and Torrance Blvd (closer to Torrance Blvd.) Just off the 405 at Normandie or off the 110 at Torrance Blvd. read more

Food prices here are not too bad. I mean, I guess you come here for the discount, but the Customer Service sucks here. I walked in when I walked in the front door. The guy at the register with glasses. I don't know what his name is. Let me see my receipt says his name his name is Saul on Register too. I walked in and he was looking at the ground and he says to me "let me know if you have any questions very low under his breath and also not looking at me so I didn't know if he was like talking to me or not and I just completely ignored him. I didn't even know if he was talking to me or now but later dawned on me he was like talking to me. He was looking at the floor when he was telling me this then I go to the back. I'm trying to decide what kind of food I'm gonna get this lady walks up and she says do you need any help? I said no I'm fine thank you she says absolutely nothing after that. Goes into the bathroom and then comes back out walks right in front of me. She did say excuse me, but it was just kinda off. I mean the Customer Service is black but I mean you're not here for the Customer Service. I mean you guess you are you're mostly here for the discount on the food, will I come back probably cause I know what to get I don't need any help from anybody, but I mean it could help if you are a little more friendly. Great selection of pet food! Prices are great! Costumer service...questionable! Knowledage about pet food or supplements ....NONE! This is why I gave them only 2 stars!!! However, you can find only the top of the line pet food at a small pet store called "Bam Bam & friends" in Culver City, which is just down the street from Global. Global carries some of the unhealthiest pet food in the market. The staff is not knowledgeable and the store owner was very rude towards one of his employee. In contrast, when I went to Bam Bam & Friends I found the staff extremely knowledgeable (the owner is studying veterinarian homeopathy) and they carry ONLY THE BEST DOG AND CAT FOOD AND SUPPLEMNTS!!. Someone mentioned Tiki Cat....only .91 cents vs. .96 at Global. Orijen, Ziwi Peak and Acana deals are the same!!!! They also carry a few brands of raw meat for dogs and cats and rabbit products. The owner said that they might bring in some bird food and supplements...but she needs to do more research about the products offered for birds. They also offer anesthetic free teeth cleaning cheaper than most places...$75 and a maintenance program. I do not know about you...but I rather support the small, family owned pet stores, NOT THE CHAIN STORES!!! read more

This place needs to do some major priority remodeling as for the disabled custoner's who shop here. The single parking space is the last one from the enterence, it should be the closest. They have steps to get in the store, whst if you have a wheel chair or a walker? There are laws on how disabled people needs access to all stores, eateries, movies, I am a Disabled advocate....put yourself in their place. I will report this store to have them make some major adjestments so all can visit and shop here not just walking customers. Just because, someone is old or disabled does not mean they are broke and can't shop! Get your stuff together and welcome everyone to your store. read more

just stoped by today to see the store that a couple of people had spoken about. warehouse from the outside but a big surprise on the inside. full of food and supplies for my family dog tito. saved alot of money and i found out that there was a buying program on this type of food to save more. the workers were very helpful to me and one could not answer my question but went to a manager and got the answer for me. i would recommend this store to everybody. hours are not a long as i hoped for but it is wonderful and open 7 days a week. read more

I've always had at least a combination of 3 or more cats and dogs through out my life. I don't know what I'd do with out animals in my life, they make every day so much happier. I've always done my shopping at different places for their food, but the past 5 years or so I've been coming to Global Pet Food Outlet because they have the best prices and best selection of foods. I know what my picky animals right, and this has been the only place that I can get all of their food in one place to save me time and money. read more

Pros: 1) Prices are super great 2) Selection is super super super great Cons: 1) Too freakin far for me (I live in WLA) 2) Customer Service is lacking, but i guess its what you pay for.
