I've been meaning to try Fancy Paws in Carson forever because my mom and brother always took their dogs here, but since I've always had a big dog, I never got the chance. Now that I have little Lucy, I finally got to bring her in and see what the fuss was about! Usually I just bathe her myself, but she got really matted, so I decided to let the pros handle it. Lucy came out looking so cute, all the mats were gone, and she smelled fancy. They even put a little scarf on her, which was adorable. They do only take small dogs, which is a bit of a bummer for my big golden, because I'd love to bring him here too if they ever allowed it! But for little Lucy, it was perfect. I paid about $85 for her bath and grooming, and I really appreciated that they asked about her vaccinations, some places don't, and that always made me nervous. Here, I felt totally safe bringing her. All in all, I think this is going to be our regular spot for Lucy. If you have a small dog, definitely give them a try! read more

Nice place to take your pup! Cute and quaint and my puppy looked soooo cute when I picked him up! One of the things that I really liked is all the pictures of the dogs on the wall when you come in. I don't know what they did. I don't know how they treat pets once the pet is left in their care. Until now, even after two visits to the vet, my frenchie is still in agony after taking him to this place for a simple bath. At first, I thought water or soap was in his ear and it would simply go away. However, it has been 3 weeks and he has been so irritated every single day. He's close to bleeding from scratching his ear and he shakes his head just to stop the itching and irritation. Apparently, per the vet, the groomer did something to cause a scratch that got infected inside my pup's ear. He has received two shots and a drop of medication inside the ear. In the 3 years I've had him, this is the first (hopefully last) time something like this has ever happened. This was the first and definitely the last time I will take hime to this groomer. read more

Update: There are new owners now and although she does good work, the price has gone up and I was informed that my dog should cost more but since he is a good dog she didn't charge more. I appreciate her honesty but I don't think I'll be back. He's not that big and I take him pretty often. For a little more I can get a mobile groomer. I really miss the original owner. read more

So I have been bringing my dog to Fancy Paws ever since we got him 8 months ago. I am always pleased with their work and the way that my dog smells after every bath. He is always in a good mood when we pick him up and I never find that he has any scratches or cuts (even though he is a very energetic puppy!). I feel like the products they use are extra drying for our pooch. So when I learned that my dog has sensitive skin, I asked FP to use a special shampoo/conditioner that I provided and they did so with no problem or extra charge! One of the only things that I do not like about Fancy Paws is that it is super hard to get a same day appointment for grooming/haircut. However, if your dog needs a quick bath, they can almost always accommodate you on the same day that you call. I love picking up my dog after he has been groomed at FP because they also give him a cute little bandanna to wear home! This business is very small and only accepts CASH. They have a few items for sale (dog apparel, collars, leashes, etc.) Huge parking lot behind the business. read more

This was the first time giving the puppies a professional grooming so I was a little nervous but they seemed very organized and the price was reasonable. The puppies had their nails clipped and a well needed bath. They seemed so happy when I picked them and smelled fabulous. They are close to home so I will use them again . Reviewing for only nail cutting. Took my dog in around 2pm and made an appointment a day prior. Very friendly staff and took only 10 minutes. I overheard them politely calming my dog down during the nail cutting. That was nice knowing she was being taken care of since you cannot see what's happening behind a dividing wall in front and the grooming area. Overall a pleasant experience. I will be coming often since my dog does not like it when I try to her nails myself. I cannot speak for the bathing or grooming yet. Only problem I have is that the waiting area is very small and almost none existent. Maybe put a couple chairs out for guests. But that's neither here nor there. read more

Definitely coming back here whenever my dog needs grooming! Took my maltipoo there today for a summer cut and I prefer it over where I've been taking him for 3-4 years. (I may be spelling their names wrong but) Aurelia was really nice when I spoke to her and dropped my dog off and Anna did an amazing job with my dog's crazy and thick hair. It was also cheaper than the place I used to take him to. The place is small but it smells good inside and they also have some dog clothes. Aurelia said it would take about 2-3 hours depending on how busy they are. My dog's appointment was at 1pm and they called me to pick him up at about 3:10pm. Not sure if appointments are required but if you're thinking about getting your dog groomed there, you should call in advance. read more

I've been coming here for about two years now, ever since Ava was a puppy and this place just has my complete trust. Every time I pick her up she's in a happy mood. What got me to write this review was the fact that I needed to take her in ASAP because of the recent heat wave and I wanted to get her shaved a bit so she can stay cooler. Unfortunately, people have been filling up their appointments so due to my conflicting work schedule and their available times, I'm not able to book one until two weeks from now. I said I'd call back so I can see if I can find another local grooming place. I've been searching through yelp and reading so many reviews from different places and every single local place have reviews about possible mistreatment which of course can possibly just be assumptions. Although they may or may not be true I just cannot risk the fact. I have trust issues I guess lol. So I called this place again and booked my appointment for two weeks later! My fur baby can wait if I know she's going to be in good hands. They're all so nice and friendly here and have great customer service. Ava always smells so good for days after she's groomed. Phone etiquette is a plus. Friendly and understanding. This is a really tiny business store within a group of other business in a small building. Pull in inside the fence gate. The parking is towards the back. Setting up appointment is simple. I had to wait a week for a spot for my dog. The wait time is about three hours. I left the bitch and did run errands. For a full service it's about $65 with tip for a medium size dog. One thing I noticed is that they cut her ingrown and she was bleeding a bit. She was okay though. She didn't have any traumatic movements where she moves away from being scared of something. That's how you can usually tell when your animal has been abused. read more

I was pleased to find this small groomer with good reviews on yelp, which isn't t too far from home. I felt comfortable dropping off my dog the first time I went. Pros: pleasant, young owner/groomer, clean shop, reasonable prices, dog smells great upon pick up, not full of yapping, smelly dogs Cons: Trim skills aren't so great, sharp trimmer or strong shampoo leaves my dog's skin irritated and scabby, cash only, only girly bows for the male dogs The young lady does a wonderful job with regular grooming. When it's time for a trim, I've been left underwhelmed. My Yorkie has been butchered on his back, beard, and head on multiple occasions - even after I've thoroughly explained or showed pictures of my requests. I've wanted to cry a few times because my dog's beautiful coat had been cut too-short and unevenly all over. Suggestions: neck scarves for male dogs, brush up on cutting/trimming skills for some breed of dogs I promise I want to keep my business here, and am willing to go back. Maybe a shampoo without a cut/trim is the best option for now. read more

First of all, the cut and groom was $65 CASH, which is inconvenient and more expensive than we usually pay for, as well as the cut making my dog look bad. When we got home from the groomers, we saw that there was a cut inside the flap of my dogs ear, a cut on his front left paw, and a cut on his back left paw. He was irritated by the cuts for the rest of the day he was home. I REPEAT, DO NOT COME TO THIS GROOMER. I don't want them hurting your babies and much as they hurt mine. read more
