    Been coming to Top grooming for a year now and I always love how my sheepadoodle comes out. The ladies are super friendly and it's easy to get appointments here. Highly recommend!

    I don't recommend bringing your fur babies to this groomer. About an hour after we brought Coco home from his grooming session, we noticed he kept scratching his left eye and it seemed irritated - his eye was very watery and half closed. As the day progressed, he was clearly very uncomfortable and his eye got worse (more watery and more shut). When he woke up the next day, he had a lot of eye buggers and his eye was fully shut. We examined his eye better and noticed he had hair in his eye that was causing so much irritation. We even had to consult with the vet on a Sunday for his eye issue. He may have looked cute groomed, but it was NOT worth his pain and discomfort, or for us seeing him like that. The worst part is that this unfortunately isn't the first time this has happened after taking him to this groomer. We thought maybe once was a one-off occurrence, but this is the second time it has happened and it has only happened with this groomer. We have not had this experience with other groomers. We don't know what happened - it seems like hair may have been blown into his eye both times - but it shouldn't be happening at all.

    I've taken my dog here a couple times and had never had a negative experience until two weeks ago. I took my dog for a full grooming and picked her up. I thought everything was fine, however, when I got home it appeared as if she had a couple cuts around her stomach area (which she did not have prior to her grooming). Over the next few days, the area worsened and it appeared to be a rash. I took her to her veterinarian and I was informed that she had gotten a severe skin infection, which they believed could have been from the grooming facility using dirty clippers. The vet said she had a skin infection all over her body and would need a antibiotic shot and also be on medicated baths twice a week for approximately 4 weeks. I proceeded to call the groomers and was answered by who I believe the be the owner. I asked if they sanitized their clippers daily and I was told misinformation. First she said they sanitized their clippers during closing and opening time and when I asked why they wouldn't do it in between each dog she suddenly claimed they also do that. She also asked if my dog was known to have skin allergies or problems and I told her she's never had any health problems like this before. At the moment, she sounded genuinely concerned. She told me to text her pictures of my dog and also of the area infected area so she could inquire with her staff about who cut her hair and what could have happened. I sent her the information she requested and never heard back from her. She never called or texted me to apologize or offer some sort of compensation or explanation. And given the fact that she never reached out I doubt she was being honest when she claimed they sanitize each clippers used after every single dog that is groomed.

    I was ecstatic to find out there's a groomer so close to home, so with my fur baby, Prime, due for grooming, I called to make an appointment. We arrived on our allocated time (noon today.) The whole area looked nice - they even had a photo booth of sorts set up - so first impression (in terms of appearance) was good. Esther came out and had me complete paperwork. I'm not sure what was happening, but I didn't feel too "welcomed." (Not sure if that makes sense.) They didn't require what most groomers do: VACCINATION STATUS. I brought a copy and offered it to them, but Esther said there was no need. She mentioned it was gonna be about 2-3 hours. Prime was naturally hesitant since he knew I was about to leave him to strangers. I watched them place and harness him on the table and hungout for a few minutes to let him know I wasn't just dropping him off and bailing out. Esther then snarks at me, "Are you gonna wait?" Dang, who woke up on the wrong side of the bed! I waited patiently for their call to let me know he was ready to come home. They did call within the 2-3hr mark. Cost was $65 (I also tipped in cash.) And then that's when Esther started complaining. "He moved too much, so it was difficult." (Uhmmm... aren't you trained for situations like this? They can't possibly expect ALL fur babies to "behave" especially when they're being left to strangers.) "We couldn't use the clippers around his head and face, only scissors." (Assuming because he "moved too much" as she previously mentioned. But then.... you shouldn't be using clippers around his head and face to begin with!) I heard a dog whining and asked if that's Prime and she responds with, "Yes, it is." paired with a very clear annoyed look. (Turns out, it wasn't Prime. It was a Frenchie in one of the kennels.) She then asked how he is with other groomers. I told her he's paranoid at first (which is why I hangout for a few to show him I wasn't "abandoning" him) but builds rapport with staff immediately, so it's a little odd that he acted otherwise here. Overall, she just didn't seem happy we came through and couldn't wait to be rid of us. Prime couldn't wait to get outta there as well. When he got home, he was lethargic and didn't feel like playing (when he normally does.) He went straight to bed. (That was a couple of hours ago. He still slumbers as I write this.) I hate the thought that the trauma he went through might have been needlessly more than necessary... He does look and smell good. I'll give them that at least. Possible one and done...

    I have a wire-haired little schnoodlewith curlyques at the ends of her ears, who I think is pretty easy to groom. Usually just needs the basics: bath, ear cleaning, sanitary trim and nail trim. Making the appointment was easy enough. They picked up the phone on the first try. They were able to take her in the next day! I was desperate because she needed her anal glands expressed and I wasn't able to take her down to her usual groomer in Huntington Beach. I did check out this yelp page and acknowledge that I did see all the photos of the dogs with short haircuts... but I figured all I had to do was tell them "no haircut" and they wouldn't... like... who would go through all that extra trouble right? Well I said it several times, and they even wrote it down on their slip of paper. So I'm not sure where the miscommunication occurred... because when I picked up my pupper, it was very very obvious that they had cut her hair. It was a very blunt cut that took away her curlyques... among other cuts as well. I was too shocked to say anything. I just paid and left. My dog still smelled good, was clean, all the basics were done well... but I was devastated that they didn't listen and cut her hair. If they couldn't follow that instruction, what else could be missed? What would happen next time? Its not a bad grooming place, but only if that is the style you are looking for. All in all, my dog doesn't notice a difference at all but I do not plan on returning.

    We had been utilizing this dog grooming service on a monthly basis for four years. During our…read moreprevious visits, we would drop off our dogs at 9 am and pick them up at 6 pm. Unfortunately, they would often be returned to us in an unsatisfactory condition, smelling wet and unclean, with excuses provided for the delay. We felt that the level of service we received was inconsistent with our expectations. After a four-year hiatus, we decided to give them another try. We brought our two corgis, following the same drop-off and pick-up procedure. However, they were again returned to us in a wet and unclean state, with untrimmed nails. The groomer, Tara, attributed the condition of our dog to the dog spilling water from its bowl, which seemed unlikely given the extent of the wetness. Notably, all other dogs had been picked up prior to ours, our dogs were in a kennel for 9 hours . We were subsequently instructed to bring our dogs back the following day at 9:30 am, which required us to adjust our schedule. However, Tara later notified us that she would arrive at 10 am, citing another reason for the change. Given the subpar service, we questioned the validity of their five-star rating. We couldn't help but wonder if the disparity in service was related to our Hispanic background. Despite our dissatisfaction, we paid and tipped, whereas a more suitable response from Tara would have been to offer a complimentary service or refund.
