I called and the gentleman who answered was so sweet and understanding. I informed him of my dog's aggression and he said that was okay they had forms to help out and ensure the safety of all. I love this place! The owners and staff are super friendly and just lovely. It's a cute shop with an enclosed dedicated area for the doggies while they wait (no cages/kennels). I called and the man who picked up was the co-owner Josh; he patiently answered all of my questions. When I dropped off my pup, a nice lady greeted us. She was proactive in asking me what kind of haircut I wanted, down to the details. My dog doesn't trust just anyone, and she immediately took to the woman, which made me feel very comfortable leaving my dog there. They said she'd be done in about 1.5-2 hours. Sure enough, an hour and a half later, she was ready for pickup. And she was GORGEOUS dahling! The cut was exactly what we discussed. Fast, good and reasonably priced - can't beat it. Had a wonderful experience with Josh and Pono's Pooch Spa and will absolutely return and recommend this spot for all of your grooming needs! The dog we were dog-sitting came us with what seemed like really long nails. They were clicking and clacking loudly and he seemed to be in a bit of pain. I actually just stopped by Pono's Pooch Spa on a Saturday morning unannounced without an appointment, and asked if they 1) do stand-alone services like nail trim and 2) if they had time for any walk-ins. Josh said yes and yes, and immediately got to work! It only took about 5 minutes and we were in-and-our of Pono's. Josh was extremely friendly and informative, telling us that the dog could in fact get his nails trimmed shorter and that they were a little long. Pono's Pooch Spa is excellent! They always do a fantastic job with my little chihuahua, Frijoles. He is not a fan of baths, but he loves how he feels after getting his nails clipped and after his bath there. He detests getting his nails trimmed and other groomers I tried before Pono's sometimes gave up. But Sammy and the other groomers manage to get it done. Today was Chase the Dog's first visit to Pono's. We typically use a mobile groomer, but I wanted to give this business a try. The staff was very friendly and the drop off and pick up was easy. The establishment is super clean and my dog was very happy and had high energy when I picked him up. Upon arrival he was greeted and I could tell the woman was trying to make Chase feel comfortable. I am very pleased with his haircut and bath. I really liked the space they had him in when I picked him up. He was in a spacious open gated crate which I appreciate much more than groomers who cage the dogs. He was in and out within 90 minutes. Sooo far the most affordable and Well kept grooming spa.. right in my neighborhood off Rosecrans and prairie.. they have been open for 7 months !!! Our little poodle rescue CeCe has been groomed here three times. Bath time and going through the blow dryer is definitely not her favorite thing (she's terrified in fact) but I trust the staff here to go at her pace and still do a great job. She had a scab on her belly once and Sammy took the time to notice it and go around it as to not hurt her more. CeCe leaves here looking like a brand new dog, and I'm so grateful for Ponos. I love Sammy !! Let's just say my dog isn't the friendliest dog when it comes to strangers so I was very worried about bringing him around to get his nails trimmed. But Sammy is a miracle worker. I did initially put a muzzle on him just in case but when Sammy was all done she was carrying him without a muzzle. She even praised him and was surprised I was so worried.
