I got belly rubs on demand, endless attention, playtime with new friends, and enough treats to make me question whether I should permanently relocate. Every time I walked in, the humans here knew my name and acted excited to see me -- which, as you can imagine, is exactly the level of celebrity treatment I deserve. The place was super clean, safe, and smelled surprisingly good for a building full of dogs making questionable life choices. Dog lover beware, DO NOT BRING YOUR DOG HERE IF YOU CARE ABOUT YOUR ANIMAL'S WELLBEING. They have zero toys in the dog common area for the dogs and They will not let your dog play with other dogs for fear that it will escalate, if your dog does start playing with another dog they will squirt it in the face with (hopefully) water spray bottle. Should your dog continue to try to play with other dogs they will call you and let you know that the dog will be in their room for the remainder of the day. This place needs to be investigated for animal welfare practices. Never have I ever heard so many people talk about how much they love dogs only for their actions to show differently. I've now attempted to tour this facility twice during the hours listed on your website. The first time, I was turned away because it was a "holiday week." However, it was a Saturday, and the actual holiday was not until Monday. Wanting to avoid another wasted trip, I called this morning to confirm that tours were being conducted and nothing was needed like an appointment. The person I spoke with confirmed that tours were available between 10:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m., which matches the information posted on your website. When I arrived, I was informed that I could not go on a tour because the manager was not there and had to take a dog to the veterinarian. Apparently, no other staff member was able to conduct a tour. However, nowhere on the website does it state that tours are dependent on a specific individual being present or that only the manager is authorized to conduct them. Had that information been disclosed, I could have avoided making a second unnecessary trip. When I explained to the front desk employee that I had specifically called this morning to confirm tours before making the drive, she suggested that I may have spoken with a call center because she had been the only person answering phones all morning. I clarified that I had been transferred directly to the South Bay/Carson location and confirmed that this was the location I called. She repeated that she had been the only person answering phones. I then asked what I could do differently next time, since this was now the second time I had been turned away despite following the information provided. Her advice was to call ahead and specifically ask for the South Bay location--which is exactly what I had already done. When I asked if there was a direct phone number for the location so I could avoid this issue in the future, I was told there wasn't one. At this point, I will not be returning. Being turned away twice despite making a good-faith effort to verify tour availability reflects a lack of organization, communication, and courtesy toward prospective clients. I had been giving my fur baby his bath but since he had been boarded here in the past decided to call to see if there was a last minute appointment available. Ivy was great she let me know he could get a bath today. He was done by the time I expected. Also glad I can take him here if I need to have him stay somewhere overnight. The bather did a great job. They offer other services like grooming, training. etc. Cameras are available for viewing your pup during the day and also when they are in their suite at night. We drove over an hour to visit WAG Pet Hotel in Carson, only to be told they were too busy to give us a tour. I called the day before and was told we could come anytime before 4 p.m. According to their website, they offer daily tours between 10 a.m. and 6 p.m. We arrived around noon, well within that time, but were turned away and told to come back next week. It was Thursday -- a regular weekday -- so why no tours if they're supposedly staffed all week? The lobby was empty except for two people at the front desk, and through the viewing glass, I saw the staff member who was supposed to be watching the dogs was too busy on her phone. It really seemed like they were understaffed and overwhelmed with more dogs than they could handle. After driving over two and a half hours round trip, this was totally unacceptable and very disappointing. Since I can't add a new comment after the store owner's response, I will add it there. I am not going to drive another 2 1/2 hours to visit your place. You should remove your daily tour schedule and make it an appointment-based schedule to avoid wasting other people's time, and hire more people to care for those pets you promised to take care of. read more

As a first time guest to the location, we were fairly happy with the introductory rates. The staff overall was great and everyone was friendly. There were for sure a lot of pets there during our fur baby's stay. She had a few play dates , had her meals and the day of her pick up, we were able to get her fit in for a grooming. They have options to have you pet on camera throughout the days so that you can log in and see progress and they send you updates as well, which we liked. They also offer tours of the location during certain hours, which we had the chance to do as well. It is a requirement to make sure that your pet is up date with all immunizations prior to the stay. Definitely che k out their menu as there are a lot of great options to choose from soothe type of stay that you want to provide for your pet and your needs. The only area of question, was the fact that the ice/hot bag that we took our dogs food in was not returned to us at pick up, but all in all the experience was good and I would recommend giving them a try and seeing how your enjoys their time too read more

We usually take him with us when we go out of town, but this time we decided to let him stay and had fun since we were going to Temecula to the wineries and I knew he would be bored. We have a mini Goldendoodle and have used several dog daycare and boarding facilities in the past, including other Wag locations, and have never had any issues--until this Carson location. During our dog's stay here, we received calls almost daily saying he was being put into "time out" due to behaviors we have never seen from him, nor have ever been reported by any other facility. He is a very friendly, non-aggressive dog. He is high energy, which is exactly why we enroll him in daycare and boarding. When we picked him up today at 12pm, we were told he would be placed in time out for the rest of the day. Each time I've gone to pick him up, the only dogs left in the play yard are either sleeping or older dogs with very low energy. Staff also mentioned that multiple doodles had been pulled from play due to their energy levels. It seems this location is either not equipped or not willing to manage high-energy dogs. If your dog is active and playful, this may not be the right place for them, as they may spend a significant amount of time in time out rather than actually participating in daycare. I strongly recommend checking in frequently on your dog if you choose to use this location. read more

I think they were treated well, loved the outcome and I would recommend Carson Wag for grooming (we haven't boarded or done day care but the dogs looked like they were having a blast behind the glass). MUST READ......First I want to say how much I regret bringing my Goldendoodle to this Daycare and I will not be taking him to any other daycare, I just don't trust these places anymore. I want to say that my doodle is 2 years old. When he would go to daycare he would be super excited and ready to go, but these last 2 times that my husband took him to daycare, one time he was not wanting to get out of the car and he was making the whimpering noise, my husband had to take him out of the car to take him inside the daycare. The second time he went, when they were in the lobby my doodle was rubbing all over my husbands legs like telling him please don't leave me here, and when he was walking inside he started making the whimpering noise again. I told my husband that these were all signs that our doodle was giving us, but my husband thought nothing much of it. So, my doodle has a trauma now. We noticed that whenever my doodle sees a belt he is so scared of it. Especially when he sees my husband or any male person taking off his belt he runs like their is no tomorrow. He is so scare of it. He is scare of it when you are taking it off, holding it still in your hand or even swinging it. It breaks my heart to see him this frightened. So, you might think but they have cameras.....um they turn on the cameras until 10am, so who knows what is happening to our dogs before that and also, when your dog is not behaving they put them in time out by themselves in a room, that's what happened to my dog one day all because he would not stop barking at other dogs, not sure why he was doing that. I do want to make it clear that my doodle is not aggressive at all. Makes me wonder, who knows what happens to our dogs during time out. I have friends that have dogs, never been to any daycare and they did me the favor to try the belt thing with their dogs, so they had no reaction to the belt, didn't even move. From now on, I told my husband that my doodle will not be going anywhere without us and we are just going to work things out so that our doodle never steps into any daycare, I came to the conclusion that the only place where your dog is safe is with you. I truly hope that you will think twice about leaving your dog at any of these places. If your dog doesn't want to go to daycare please take that as a big sign. Read the other bad reviews and you will see that most of these reviews are really horrible.....dogs getting hurt pretty bad. I wish I read the reviews before taking my doodle to daycare. The only thing you get back from them is a sorry and that's it. Remember.......Dogs don't talk so we must speak up for them!!!!! read more

Wag in Carson is a bit out the way for our family. But my little fur baby seems happiest there, whenever we need daycare or boarding services. As soon as we pull into the driveway, Charlie perks up, tail wagging like a windshield wiper on high, and practically drags me to the door. Our pup suffers from some horrible separation anxiety and is extremely nervous around new people, especially men. I don't ever have to worry about him running off because he's never far away from me. Even in a dog park, he'll rarely leave my side. But somehow, he's 100% okay with being dropped off at Wag. As big of a pain it is to drive to Carson, we do it because this is where he's most comfortable, aside from our home of course. You may be asking, "why the four stars if she likes this place so much?" I have one complaint. Once in a while, we get behind schedule and drop off the little guy after 12 pm for daycare or boarding. When that happens, he misses out on all day play and has to sit in a room by himself all day. That makes me really sad to think about. See my note about separation anxiety above. But those are the rules, so we try our best to never arrive after 12pm.
