My puppy is a 5 month old Golden Retriever and he comes home happy and exhausted. I especially love that they have a calendar of events! My puppy got to play with the ball pit and enjoyed his puppy push pop. He got excited right away when he saw we were taking him a second time!! I also appreciate they have cameras that you can access from home so you can watch your fur baby and know they're ok! I do wish the space was a tad bigger or even had an outdoor grass area but it's sufficient for those busy work days to make sure my puppy gets the exercise and socializing he needs! Oh and the treats they sell are my dog's new favorites! Apparently Belmont shore location has a lot more variety but I found enough for me to take home and try out. He was at animal control for a long time before we adopted him, & I believe he has some trauma history, but Joyful Paws is the most relaxed I've seen him (well, as "relaxed" as he gets in this type of situation). I love the very large space of their facility, the many staff on duty at all times, their caring, and just the obvious dog knowledge and know-how when it comes to handling/interacting with them. Not every dog is a fluffy, friendly, cuddle bomb - most dogs are complex and come with their own unique personalities & baggage. Just like humans. And Joyful Paws knows this and can adapt, handle, & control while letting the pet know they are safe and in good hands (which in turn reassures us pet parents). I know he is well cared for & loved while being boarded. I know he will be secure & have active time and rest. They really do get it here at Joyful Paws. I had to take him somewhere else one time as it was last minute and Joyful Paws was all booked for private suites, which was quite traumatic for my doggo. The accommodations and caretaking just were not the same. He came home a nervous wreck w/a raw spot on his nose from rubbing it against the door, as well as digestive issues. This has never happened at Joyful Paws, so one more bit of proof that they are definitely the right choice for pet boarding

They take him out for one on one time three times a day. Update pictures are sent and my dog is always happy, thrilled to go into their care and chill coming home. Staff has been kind and communicative. En suite cameras have always worked too! Doggo comes back smelling great and they even cleaned his bed at the end of the boarding stay. He's never once smelled like urine which wasn't uncommon at other daycares. Highly recommended.

We are long-time patients of this clinic and have always trusted the team with our dogs' care, which is why we continue to come here whenever our pets are not feeling well. We brought Kino in because he was experiencing excessive itchiness, redness, vomiting, and was clearly in discomfort. Despite the office being very busy, we truly appreciated the time that Dr. Meina took to see him and make sure he received the treatment he needed. From the moment we were brought in, he listened attentively as I explained Kino's symptoms and concerns. It meant so much to feel heard and understood, especially when your pet is clearly not feeling well and in distress. Dr. Meina took the time to thoroughly assess Kino's condition and explain the available treatment options, ensuring we felt comfortable and informed with the plan of care. His patience, professionalism, and compassion helped make an already stressful situation much easier for both us and our dog. I would also like to thank Marisol, the manager, who reached out after we addressed our concerns and helped refer us to their sister clinic's urgent care so that Kino could receive the care he needed as soon as possible. It's been a bit so of course an update is well-deserved…read more Dr. Meina is worth more than 5* here. He's been my rabbit Scully's saving grace. Scully has chronic bladder sludge. Every few months or so I notice she balloons up, strains, the inevitable sludge emerges, and I go "yep! It's time for Dr. Meina!" where we can usually get an appointment within a week or so, and she gets her x-rays and expression done. Dr. Meina is insightful, kind, compassionate, and makes the entire process less stressful on the both of us. It also helps that Ambassador is affordable in our current economy. We're a fan through and through.

What really stood out to us was how thoughtful and selective Karla is about the dogs she accepts. Some of the other places we looked at had some dogs that seemed a bit reactive, but she clearly puts a lot of effort into making sure her environment stays calm. She suggested we do doggy daycare a couple of times before boarding so our corgi, Kai, could get comfortable with her, the space, and other dogs in her care. Our dog immediately loved Karla, had a great time with the other dogs, and came home happy and exhausted every time. She also sent us daily videos, and Kai always looked genuinely happy playing with the other dogs. We're so so glad we went with Karla and will absolutely be using her again for daycare and boarding next time we go out of town. She clearly has a real gift with dogs. We can't recommend her enough!
